12:36 Ye may perhaps think, God does not so much regard your words. But I say to you - That not for blasphemous and profane words only, but for every idle word which men shall speak - For want of seriousness or caution; for every discourse which is not conducive to the glory of God, they shall give account in the day of judgment.

    I would like to do an in-depth Bible study on this scripture. I understand the word "idle" being defined as without meaning ... useless . I can certainly be guilty of "yakking" without knowing Im Getting on other peoples nerves. I ask for Gods mercy. I Thank Him for his love and understanding.
  • All of "God 's People " will have much to answer to the Lord for. We are all guilty of saying things that do not edify the church or uplift the people around us. However, God has given us an advocate named Jesus that we can go to and repent of our foolishness. God shows mercy to all who repent.
