I think that is a wonderful idea. We do not know much about the evangelization work of the other apostles besides Peter, Paul, and John in the book of Acts, along with James, Jesus' brother from Jerusalem's congregation. They were all commissioned by Jesus to spread the gospel. I wish we had more of where they went and what they taught.

I would like to know if there is s good source for researching a NT figure like Mark, Barnabus, etc. to find out where their ministry took them. Not a book but an online version just to satisfy my curiosity as I read about them. Can you recommend a site like that?

    Thanks

Angels are God's messengers. Fallen beings impersonate they that have passed on. Moses, Elijah and Enock are not God's messengers. They will not communicate with us on the earth. The dead are asleep awaiting life eternal, or eternal death in God's light. God takes no pleasure in he eternal death of the wicked. That is eternal damnation. Wicked will look like a lake of fire.

Artie, may CHRIST IN US grace us with HIS wisdom and HIS understanding.

Christ HAS BEEN setting up HIS KINGDOM for the past two thousand years. The CHOSEN that have gone before us have been off the earth (delivered form their bodies of flesh into Christ's immortal body) and reigning and judging with Christ as messengers of SPIRIT.

Study the PARABLE of the workers (spiritual messengers) SENT to work in Spirits vineyard (CREATION).

    Matthew 20:1-16

The DAY (TODAY, has been happening for two thousand years) of the LORD (second coming of (the SPIRIT of) CHRIST has been happening for two thousand years. Some workers (spiritual messengers) were SENT the first hour of the day: for example; the apostles that FIRST DIED IN CHRIST (and BORN AGAIN in Truth), afterwards other workers (spiritual messengers) that DIE IN CHRIST were rewarded with the immortal body of Christ to WORK in the vineyard (the garden) of God. This thousand year reign (this ONE DAY; the DAY of the LORD) will continue UNTIL the resurrection to JUDGEMENT occurs.

    Hebrews 12:22-23

Glenn, thanks for your response: "If Jesus is coming here ,. An preparing for our Father to set up his kingdom, in Jerusalem, where is anyone being raptured to ? Where ya going ? I've heard of one rapture,.. but now 3 ? This is very confusing,.."

Precious friend, actually the confusion disappears when the THREE raptures "are LEFT In God's Contexts, Where HE Placed Them!" Amen? ie:

    PRE-TOJT rapture:

    (1) Body Of CHRIST Departure TO Heaven (Read/study Romans - Philemon) = God's 'Context' is ALL 'Spiritual!' We are not "looking for the man of sin/signs to enter into The Time of Jacob's Trouble." ( 2 Corinthians 5:7); We are "looking, watching, and Patiently waiting For CHRIST, Who Will Present ALL of The Body Of CHRIST, holy and unblameable and unreproveable, In His Sight, TO His Father, In Heaven, Where we Will Live Forever And Ever! ( 1 Thessalonians 3:13; Colossians 1:5, 22; 1 Corinthians 6:3; 2 Corinthians 5:1-2) Amen?

    MID-TOJT raptures:

    (2) During The Time {God's 'Context'} of JACOB's {ISRAEL's} Trouble, there Will Be TWO "raptures":

    a) one departure is of the TWO witnesses, killed, resurrected, and taken up ( Revelation 11:1-12)

    b) the other departure is of the 144,000 "sealed virgins of TWELVE tribes ( Revelation 7:1-8) redeemed from the earth," and were "without fault before The Throne of God!" ( Revelation 14:1-5)

Please refrain from listening to those who "MIX these up" in confusion. And:

Please Be RichlyEncouraged, Enlightened,Exhorted, and Edified In JESUS CHRIST!

I say the hard truth in all things. Jesus is not going to set up his kingdom here right away. The saved will be off of the earth for 1000 years, living in the New Jerusalem.
  • Artie whitefox - In Reply on Mark 1 - 2 years ago
The saved will be off of the earth in the new Jerusalem for one thousand years. That is the reward that Jesus says will be with him. satan wanders this dark planet for 1000 years, with no one to work through. Satan is unchained when the wicked are raised. They make two cities Gog and Magog. Satan calls them to do one last battle against what seems to be a city that can be easily taken. God's light makes the lost to look like a lake of fire. Wicked become ashes under the feet of the righteous.

Precious friend, Jesus Ortiz. Note: there are THREE future 'raptures.'

    (1) God's Scriptures for The Great GRACE Departure {rapture} Of The Body Of CHRIST, BEFORE The Time Of Jacob's Trouble:

    1 Corinthians 15:51-57

    1 Thessalonians 4:13-18

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 "falling away" = THE Great GRACE Departure "away from earth"

God's Scriptures for departures {raptures} DURING The Time Of JACOB's TROUBLE:

    (2) Revelation 11:1-12

    (3) Revelation 14:1-5

Precious friend, Jesus Ortiz, Please Be RichlyEncouraged, Enlightened,Exhorted, and Edified! ( 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 16:25; Ephesians 1:3-9; Ephesians 3:9 = Grace/Mystery fellowship, today?)

I would say yes ,the act of having sex with another person is what seperates the marriage ,if your spouse cheats on you they have seperated themselves from you and broken the bonds of marriage ,under mosaic law you are basically divorced from each other by the act of cheating and your spouse and the person that they slept with are to be stoned to death ,as Christians we may choose to forgive and reconcile or divorce ,there was no place for forgiveness under the mosaic law .Thanks to God and Jesus we are not under that as Christians .

    Greetings in Jesus' name, Josephine.

The Israelites kept their sabbath based on a lunar calendar. We can always see the sabbath and the new moon referenced together. The sabbath day was always the day after the new moon..and then every 7th day after that until the next new moon.

So it is not a certain day of the week on the gregorian (named after pope gregory) calendar.

For this month since the last new moon it has been on the day we call Saturday, which by no coincidence was also the day passover fell on.

That said, the sabbath day is a holy convocation pointing to the 7th day 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ and His bride. This is the rest that remaineth spoken of in Hebrews. Christians do no enter into a day of the week. However, there is nothing wrong with observing the sabbath, and meeting with other Christians on the Lord's day (the day after); the first day of the week.

    I hope this blesses you.

    Be well, Andrew

GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD

Mark 1:14-15 Now after John was put into prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the GOSPEL of the kingdom of God.

(vs 15) And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye and believe the GOSPEL.

    Repentance is not the GOSPEL.

Psalms 52:1 Why BOASTEST thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man; the goodness of God endureth continually.

Romans 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his GOODNESS and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the GOODNESS of GOD leads to repentance.

Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, Lo there! behold, the kingdom of God is WITHIN you.

    THIS IS THE GOSPEL!

Colossians 1:27 ..... which is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory.

You are baptised (not by physical water; but with living water) INTO CHRIST!

The baptism of the Holy Spirit and fire Matthew 3:11

Hebrews 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

Mark 1 is beautiful a description of Jesus came to be an example and it shows from the beginning of when John was to baptize Jesus. He demonstrate the new birth experience by being born of the water and spirit. Showing us this is just the start of the fight as he was soon then tempted by the Devil forty Days.

Jesus's ministry was powerful because he told truth saying, Repent and believe the Gospel! As I was reading this Chapter I saw the power of the mere words of our God. Simon Andrew James and John only ned to hear follow me and they went. ll he need to do was speak to the demons and they went out. There was so much power just in the words that Jesus said. All things obeyed the Lord showing his power and might. I learned through this there is power in the words we say. IT can bring forth life and life more abundantly. There is much Power in the things we say seeing now those who are born again have been given the authority of Christ. Beautiful description of how JEsus started and moved his ministry by the Power of the tongue. ALL THINGS OBEY THE LORD
  • What happens when we are CAUGHT UP to Jesus in the clouds - In Reply on Mark 1 - 3 years ago
I will send more info this weekend.

The dead in Christ rise first to meet Jesus in the clouds; where they are given their resurrection bodies: spirit, soul and an incorruptible body that never feels pain.

The living people in Christ are next to meet Jesus in the clouds. They are born again and filled with the Spirit, so they are given their resurrection bodies then. In the blink of an eye, we'll be in heaven.

We've all been invited to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb; the Bridegroom. God will wipe away all of our tears.

This earth is going to be burned up. It's not global warming: it's a world getting ready for its transformation too. Let us rejoice in new faces, familiar faces and joy unspeakable. Peace be with you,

    Mishael

When will we receive our new bodies, before the rapture or in the rapture or after the rapture?
  • Names of Hell Others on Mark 1 - 3 years ago
Some believe that while Jesus' body was in the tomb, His spirit was in hell.Scripture doesn't support that position when it is taken in context and we look at the meaning of the word "hell." In the Old Testament, the place of the dead or the place of departed souls was called "SHEOL." It was to this place that all souls of the dead went to await resurrection.

In the New Testament, we find the story of Lazarus and the rich man who both died and went to Hades ( Luke 16:19-31). The KJV translates the Greek word "hades" as hell but most other translations use the Greek word. HADES had two separated parts: Those who died in faith believing in God's promise waited for the resurrection in Abraham's Bosom. Those who died spiritually separated from God wait in torment for the resurrection unto death, eternal separation from God. The rich man was on the torment side and Lazarus was in ABRAHAMS BOSOM which was called "PARADISE" by the LORD Jesus Christ himself when He addressed the thief who found faith the day Jesus was crucified ( Luke 23:42-43)

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment" ( 2 Peter 2:4). The word translated "HELL" here is not the Greek word "HADES" but is the Greek word "TARTARUS"meaning ABYSS or the lowest regions. This could very well be the "gulf" that was fixed between the PLACE OF TORMENT and Abraham's Bosom ( Luke 16:26)

Wherefore He saith, When He ascended up on high, He led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. (Now that He ascended, what is it but that He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that He might fulfill all things" ( Ephesians 4:8-10). Leading captivity captive seems to refer to Jesus taking all those that waited in Paradise to heaven to be with Him. The descending into the "lower parts"refers to Jesus declaring victory over death.

In the 16th century it appears as "palsy," the form used in the King James Version. This, however, is seldom used at the present day, the Latinized Greek form "paralysis" being more frequently employed, both in modern literature and in colloquial English "Sick of the palsy" is the translation either of the adjective paralutikos or of the participle of the verb paraluomai. The disease is one characterized by extreme loss of the power of motion dependent on some affection either of the motor centers of the brain or of the spinal cord. It is always serious, usually intractable, and generally sudden in onset (1 Macc 9:55 f). Miraculous cures by our Lord are related in general terms, as in Matthew 4:24; Acts 8:7. Aeneas ( Acts 9:33) was probably a paralytic eight years bedridden. Though the Lord addressed the paralytic let down through the roof ( Matthew 9:6; Mark 2:3; Luke 5:18) as "son," it was not necessarily a proof that he was young, and though He prefaces the cure by declaring the forgiveness of sin, we need not infer that the disease was the result of an evil life, although it may have been. Bennett conjectures that the centurion's palsied servant grievously tormented was suffering from progressive paralysis with respiratory spasms (see PAIN). The substantive paralusis is only once used in the Septuagint in Ezekiel 21:10, but here it refers to the loosing of the sword, not to the disease.

    Comment by Alexander Macalister
  • Chris - In Reply on Mark 1 - 3 years ago
Generally, we understand 'palsy' as a paralysis in some part of the body. In the case of the person stricken with palsy ( Mark 2:3-12), this was the result of some sin in his life - we're not told. But Jesus forgave the man, he was healed & he stood up & walked away.

In verse 3 we read that four people bore him up on a bed (stretcher) to bring him to Jesus (through the roof as the entrance to the house was blocked with people). In accordance with this display of great faith (by the sick man & those who carried him), Jesus was able to heal him.
