Mr 8:26 Sent him away to his house. Evidently he did not live in Bethsaida, as he was forbidden to go into the town, or to tell the story there.

"And he sighed deeply in his spirit, and saith, Why doth this generation seek after a sign? verily I say unto you, There shall no sign be given unto this generation." If it was an unworthy generation when Jesus was here, with all their hatred and hostility and contradiction against Him; what does THIS dried out old rotten tree think that God should care to give any of them a sign? What blindness!

Harden not your heart but believe in Him who has power over you, who can save and who can tthrust into hell. Yea, fear him for the devil rules on earth. God is in control and Jesus is not on walking amongst us on earth. He was hear to establish the Truth about life and death. Now it is up to us. Our faith is up to us, what we say, what we do, who we are is up to us! God has establised TRUTH

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (cont.) Keeping in the context of the Lord's teaching here; what is profitable for us is to save our souls through God's mercy and grace, and not have false beliefs concerning this life's worth. This world IS NOT God's final and very good plan for us for eternity; and its real condition is seen by the cross.
