6:3 Is not this the carpenter? - There can be no doubt, but in his youth he wrought with his supposed father Joseph.

People's Bible Notes for Mark 6:3

Mr 6:3 Is not this the carpenter? Matthew reads "The carpenter's son" (Mt 13:55). This shows that Jesus also had worked at the trade. It was the custom for every Jew to be taught some trade by his parents.

Discussion for Mark 6:3

  • Lawrence R Graham on Mark 6:3
So one could believe the book of Mormon and his time of carpentry being that this was the family buisness
  • Andrew Kingsly Raj - in Reply on Mark 6:3
    In replying Lawrence R Graham,

Galatians 1:8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

The book of Mormon is not from God. It comes from a fallen angel. So you should stop follow Mormonism. Bible is enough.

Jesus christ always remind us the existence of Hell. But the book of Mormon says there is no Hell. And they also equal themselves with God which is unbiblical. Once upon a day Satan wants to equal himself with God and want to sit above his thron. It is the reason he fall from heaven.

    Revelation 22:18

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

No offense, but you have a religion. If your God is not Jesus, the Word of God; who Created the World...

And your Bible is a Book of Mormon?

At this late date in the history of man; you should seek the God of the Bible. There is no salvation by any other NAME. You have to repent, receive Jesus, and confess your salvation to others.

Study a KJV version of the Bible. Start in 1, 2, 3, John in the back, in front of Revelation.
  • Melanie on Mark 6:3
some people have cast doubt in whether Jesus was a carpenter like Joseph, but this verse leaves no doubt. Clearly it was a family business and is what he was trained to do. It was what he grew up with.
