Wesley's Notes for Mark 12:29

12:29 The Lord our God is one Lord - This is the foundation of the first commandment, yea, of all the commandments. The Lord our God, the Lord, the God of all men, is one God, essentially, though three persons. From this unity of God it follows, that we owe all our love to him alone. #Deut 6:4|.

This was such a beautiful chapter especially the parables that Jesus gave of the husbandman I felt like he was truly describing his sacrifice for us.

Oh, you elect. Who told you that you were not subject to the temptations, as was your Lord, Jesus the Christ. He was a sent one. He understood that to be human one must humble himself. He knew the Father and did not rise up against him as this froward generation has. They have perverted the word taking snipits and justifying their apostasy. They will not hear the truth for it is too hard

When God brought Israel out from the bondage of Egypt, He made a Covenant with them to be their God, and that they should be His people. Not only for themselves, but for the benefit of all the world, God separated Israel unto Himself, and gave them the Charge of His holy Oracles. Since they refused until there was no remedy, God now sends for His Elect from the Nations without them.

All have fallen short but God's grace and mercy through His son's willful obedience has saved us. We are asked only to believe doubting nothing. There is too much focus on the darkness these days. Light dispels the darkness. We need His word more than ever. His word is light and will cut through the lie of this world.
