To the store - house - This was one or more large rooms, built on purpose for this use. That there may be meat - For the priests and Levites to live upon. Prove me - Make the experiment. The windows of heaven - A kind of proverbial speech, to express great abundance. I believe praying should be genuine and come from the heart. I think it should not be selfish or materialistic. I think ones motives should be pure in the prayer request, because we are not supposed to follow the world or its riches, but follow Jesus and seek our treasures in heaven, not on Earth. Matthew 6:19-20. God says we can ask for anything through faith- it should be through love too. 1 Corinthians 13:2, Matthew 21:21-22.
Given that info, I think it's ok to privately pray to be able to pay your debts and bills and for job increases and to tithe to help others. I would be careful praying for material possessions, however, because where is the heart? What is the motive? Is the goal to built treasures on Earth or in heaven?
Hope that perspective is helpful. God bless you!
