People's Bible Notes for Mark 13:37

Mr 13:37 Watch. Observe in this chapter the emphasis given to Christ's exhortation, "'Watch'"! Matthew tells us how the Lord sought to impress these lessons of watchfulness and faithfulness still more deeply by the parables of the "Ten Virgins" (Mt 25:1-13), and the "Talents" (Mt 25:14-30), and closed all with a picture of the awful day when the Son of man should separate all nations from one another, as the shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats (Mt 25:31-46).

Watch! Yes, we must continue to watch, be ready and keep our salvation current for we know not when the end shall come. All the signs of the end times are here.

correction - concerning my comment about it being 70 yrs. before Jesus allowed the temple to be destroyed. It was only from ca. 30 A.D, to 70 A.D. which is not 70 yrs.

I have always believed that to die, you are with Christ. But in the Old Testament of the bible, when one of the great men died, it was said it was time for them to sleep with their fathers. Can you help me to understand this, were they sleeping or in heaven?

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:Revelations 20:6. There shall be signs in the sun and the moon --- distress of nations with perplexity;--- behold the fig tree and all trees when they bud, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is near.So likewise when you see these things come to pass know ye that the kingdom of God is at hand.Luke 21:25-33

Matt 24/Mark 13 deal with the future. Christ showing what it will be like just before 2nd advent. Isaiah 54, Rev14:4, 2 Cor11:2, other places talk about being SPIRITUAL virgins. Not marrying 1st (fake) Christ before the true Christ returns. Don't "give suck" to lies. Not in winter, or not in wrong harvest. Wait for summer and true harvest. "In your patience posses ye your souls." Luke 21:19. Wait.
