    Matthew

    Chapter 25

1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.

2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.

3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:

4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.

6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

You need to memorize this so YOU can tell other people. Matthew 25

Well, God went some distance to explain to us the timeline. In Daniel 9:24 seventy weeks (of years) are determined.... to accomplish about everything. But two things are specified for the first 69 weeks (69x7=483 years), 7 weeks for the building of the streets and walls and three score and two unto The Messiah the Prince. STARTING when??? Back to vs :24 -> From the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem... TO when??? -> Unto the Messiah the Prince. 69X7 years from Persian Commandment to free the Jews to go back to Jerusalem Until Jesus is crucified. 69 of the 70 weeks fulfilled 2000 years ago. That leaves one week. The key verse is Dan 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week, And in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice...to cease and place the abomination of desolation. He is the antichrist. The covenant presumably is the seventy weeks for everything, looks like to restart the seventy weeks going to be some kind of 7 year treaty with "many" that includes Jews Building their temple and resumiing sacrifice like in the Old Testament. But he, the AC, breaks the treaty in the middle of the seven years. 42 months in Rev 11. Mt 24:15 ->When you see the Abomination of desolation spoken of by daniel standing in the HolyPlace Mt 24:21 ->Then shall be great tribulation. When will we see the Abom of Des? Dan 9:27 In the midst of the week...!!! What does the Abom of Des signify? The midpoint of the last 7 years and the beginning of The Great Tribulation for 3 1/2 years. Mt 24:29 ->>Immediately After the (3 1/2 year long) Tribulation, Jesus appears in the clouds as he collects the Christians from around the globe. So, the day and hour we don't know. But as Jesus' return nears, we have specific markers that tell us how long we have. "Except those days should be shortened there should no flesh be saved. But for the elects sake those days shall be shortened."

Has anyone considered "last" meaning literally "final"? This world, "system" has been here since the beginning when God created it. Our main focus should not be to figure out the length of "time on earth" left, but living to the fullness of potential and purpose that's pleasing to our heavenly Father. Jesus brought the Kingdom of God back to us to make it final. This is the true meaning of last.

To God is power,Jesus is love comment above.jesus said ,I have come in my father's name.if you see the son you see the father.Jesus said ,all power is been given to me.for there is no other name under heaven where by we must be saved.Do every thing in word and deed,do everything in the name of Jesus.we pray over the sick in that name.we bless our meals in that name.we suppose to baptize in that name, but a lot of us dont.we need to pray over everything in Jesus name.you see Jesus is the Father,He is the Son and He is the HolySpirit.because these three are One.

Verse 12 is where the elect are delivered up to death which is to say delivered up to Satan and when they are delivered up the Holy Spirit will speak through them and that is where the word is broadcast through the world. Not a hair will be harmed on the elect. When you hear what the elect say you might just realize that there has been a deception taking place where the world has been worshipping a man who was kicked out of heaven Rev. 12:7,8,9 who is the antichrist that claimed he was God when standing up in Jerusalem but is a false messiah who can bring lightning down from the sky in the sight of men For those who got caught up in the one world system, living life like the days of Noah with the mark in their mind and doing the work, mark in their hand having a happy life of prosperity, eating and drinking Turn away! Wait for the true Christ.

Lost 1, My response to you didn't attach to this thread, so am duplicating it here as well.

These verses have nothing to do with the Church. Jesus was speaking to His disciples about what it would be like in the days after He leaves for Heaven until the last days during the pouring out of God's Anger. Its immediate reference is to the Jews, as can be seen in verses 6, 12, 20, 21, 24. The Church is not in this picture, as also in Matthew 24 & Mark 13. However, in these chapters (discourses by Jesus), there is also reference to the coming Great Tribulation that will affect all the world, with the Anti-Christ impersonating Jesus & also the Wrath of God being poured upon all unbelievers. The apostle Paul in his letters then spoke about the Church's removal prior to the outpouring of God's Judgement, but this was not proclaimed in the Gospel, simply because the Christ's Church did not exist at that time.

    1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 & 5:2, 4

    2nd Peter 3:12-14

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Can someone explain vs 12 please because i thought we were going to be taken to heaven in the rapture?
  • Chris - In Reply on Luke 21:36 - 3 years ago
Bruce, Jesus was speaking in the earlier verses about His coming again (v 27) after a time of great suffering. These verses had a partial fulfilment at the coming of Emporer Titus in AD 70 to destroy Jerusalem & the Temple. The people at that time would have thought that this was fulfilment of Jesus' words, but the full extent of those words haven't been realized as yet. They must point to another future event i.e. when Jesus comes again.

So when Jesus says "Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.", he tells his disciples to be alert & ready for that great event. "To pray always" doesn't imply that all His followers must constantly be in a state of kneeling prayer (or nothing would ever get done). I understand that we are to, in our watchfulness, be also in prayerfulness, as being mindful of spiritual matters & not getting caught up with the worldly. The very act of praying is one's turning of attention from off ourselves & the world & onto the Lord Who is our Hope & Life. Paul used the same thought in 1 Thes 5:17, to "pray without ceasing". Again, that our attitude is one of utter dependence on the Lord & our readiness to call upon Him as our first resort, rather than to other people & things.

So, "how do you do this practically?" As you have reason to call upon the Lord wherever you are; as your spirit goes out to someone in need, or to those ministering the Word in difficult situations; as you are sharing the Word with another & you seek the Spirit's help in doing so; and your desire to keep short accounts with the Lord that you won't be ashamed at His Coming. These are just a few thoughts.

Modern day Jews weren't around when the bible was written so I'm unable to give a reference in scripture to modern day Jews. The bible does refer to a specific race of people that God chose to be His people. These are Jews. They are His chosen people, and they are also called His elect. I take it you don't agree with that?

From what I understand, God made a promise to His people in the Old Testament. The Jews are a protected race of people. They will never be eliminated because they are under God's protection. When Jesus comes at His second coming, every Jew alive will be saved.

I do agree with you that claiming to be a Jew or Christian does not make it true. That's seems pretty elementary. And I do know about the Jews having a synagogue in Smyrna, but they were not believers.

What I don't agree with is that ALL Jews deny Jesus. That simply is not true! If that's what you truly believe, then I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. And also, if they believed in Jesus, it still wouldn't make them a Christian. Unless a person has been born of God's Spirit, that person has an illegitimate claim at being a child of God, whether they be Jew or Gentile. Also, which synagogue should one call to ask if ALL Jews deny Jesus? My guess is that any Jew, Orthodox or Messianic, would tell you that there are some Jews who do not deny Jesus.
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on Luke 21 - 3 years ago
IF a Jew believes in Jesus he ceases to be a Jew and becomes a Christian.

    Is Yeshua really Lucifer?

The Complete Jewish Bible by "messianic believer" Doctor David Stern writes: Presenting the Word of God as a unified Jewish book, the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB) is a translation for Jews and non-Jews alike. It connects readers with the Jewishness of the Messiah. Names and key terms are returned to their original Hebrew and presented in easy-to-understand transliterations.

The CJB is a translation of the Bible into English by Dr. David H. Stern. It consists of Dr. Stern's revised translation of the Old Testament (Tanakh) plus his original Jewish New Testament (B'rit Hadashah) translation in one volume.

In Isaiah 14 (REMOVED LUCIFER AND INSERTS MORNING STAR) Their argument is Lucifer is a "Latin" word that does not belong in English. About 20% of English comes from Latin. Does Taco not belong in English since it is Spanish?

Satanists and Luciferians know who Lucifer is. Read Carefully

Isaiah 14: (the fall of Lucifer)

11 Your pride has been brought down to Sh'ol (Hell)

with the music of your lyres,

under you a mattress of maggots,

over you a blanket of worms.'

(KJV uses Lucifer Stern inserts MORNING STAR who FELL from Heaven)

12 "How did you come to fall from the heavens,

MORNING STAR, son of the dawn?

How did you come to be cut to the ground,

    conqueror of nations?

13 You thought to yourself, 'I will scale the heavens,

I will raise my throne above God's stars.

I will sit on the Mount of Assembly

    far away in the north.

14 I will rise past the tops of the clouds,

I will make myself like the Most High.'

So who fell from heaven going to the pit of Hell? THE MORNING STAR.

Who is the Morning Star? Stern says Jesus is Yeshua

Revelation 22: 16 "I, (Jesus) Yeshua, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the Messianic communities. I am the Root and Offspring of David, the bright MORNING STAR.

Did you catch it Jesus is Yeshua the MORNING STAR in

    Bob,

Does not the Bible refer to the Jews as God's chosen people, and His elect. Where can I find that ALL Jews are antichrist? God made a promise to the nation Israel (Jews). If they are all antichrist, wouldn't that negate the promise? You have recommended calling a synagogue for answers. If I were to call a synagogue, should I ask to speak to an Orthodox Jew, or a Messianic Jew?

Jews of every country where their family fled to are moving back to Israel. Have been a couple of years. Lots of them are returning as Christians.

They are sharing their faith in Jesus their Messiah. Do you ever watch 700 Club news?

They are happy, excited, spirit filled.

Please show me where it is okay for US to damn anyone to hell??

We're suppose to make them desirous of the love of Jesus, because of the love we have for the brethren. What is to envy if they get spit on, yelled at, threatened with death and burned down churches!?

I didn't get to go to college like you and Chris. I use study helps, but it takes time to do the research, for me. I've been in the "college" of the HOLY SPIRIT for 35 years. I'm grateful for it too. I learn things useful to teach the lost, the backsliders, the clueless. People respond to Love. Like I've said before; if God can't find a disciple to send to the lost...He'll use a donkey.

God knows what we need to get and stay saved. He gave me love every time. All my drunken friends left me. I asked for new friends and a huge wave of Christians flooded my life! Street witnessing was a blast. I'd get home exhausted, but I'd stay up and pray for the seed I'd sown. Every single time I needed help and asked, I got what I needed (not wanted).

You can't convince me that God does not have a plan for Jews, Israel, Catholics, or for the whole world. We don't get to condemn them for God. You can wipe the dust off your shoes, but that is it.

I've seen those passages where the Lord promised to deal with them personally. That's His fight. He didn't tell us to "go ye and kick the pants off them ourselves". They will know Him through us, by the love we show the brethren & sisters. God is no respecter of persons. We are to silence from our mouthes: judgment, predjudice and presuppositions. The Holy Spirit has never told me to shout or say WOE to people! Teach the sheep & carry the baby lambs (in prayer). Amen

    Romans 11:25-32

For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in. And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob: For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins. As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sakes. For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief: Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy. For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all. O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

Praise GOD who is rich in His Mercy and His Grace for all of us. Maybe the key lies with "Patience" for all not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to faith in JESUS also as written above thru our mercy.

Muslims honor Jesus as a sinless prophet and that is the end of it. Jews are antichrist by Bible definition

1 John 2:22 - Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. (ALL Jews deny Jesus and that makes them antichrist, if they believed in Jesus then they would be CHRISTIANS. IF you do not believe me call any Synagogue and ask them if Jesus is the Messiah.)

1 John 2:23 - Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

If Jews do not accept Jesus as messiah, then who is their messiah?

1 Corinthians 16:22 - If any man love not the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be Anathema (CURSED) Maranatha.

DO JEWS LOVE JESUS OR ARE THEY CURSED?

    Mishael,

I want to also share this with you. These are actual 7 steps of a Jewish wedding.

    1. First, the Jewish groom barters with the father of the bride. They get together and they go back-and-forth, and barter as to what the deal is going to be.

    2. Once they reach an agreement, the future bride is brought in. And if she approves of it, all three of them drink out of the covenant cup, which means from that time forward they are betrothed.

    3. The groom goes back to his father's house to build their living quarters. It is built right off of the family home. And once the wedding takes place, and they are now married, they will go back to his family's home, and there will be living quarters that will be for them.

    4. Catch this one: The father of the groom decides when the living quarters are done, and when he can go get his bride. What does that tell us? We don't know the time or the hour. It has to be a minimum of one year because it is a time of purity for her. The groom can go get his bride when his father decides it's time.

    5. When the marriage announcement is made, catch this: the people who have already been invited to the wedding feast, they take their positions along the parade route, because the groom is going to get his bride. And there are people stationed in position all the way along the route. They join the parade as it passes by. It is called a parade.

    6. When the groom reaches the bride's house, he stands at a distance and blows the shofar, the trumpet, for the bride to come out and meet him. And the wedding takes place at that time. Do you see anything in there about prophecy? The groom comes to get his bride, and he stands a ways off and blows the trumpet, and she comes out to meet him.

    7. The parade goes back to the groom's house and the wedding feast begins. All of the guests in the parade gather in the Fellowship Hall, and the door is shut. This is not an open public thing.

Compare this to prophecy in Matthew Chapter 25. So Powerful!

God keeps the time from us for a reason. We know He's coming, and we're to be ready. But if we knew the date, many would say "I've got plenty of time so I'll just "live it up" for a while. You and I, and all those who belong to Him, we are always watching, and we are always ready because His Spirit is in us, and His Spirit is ready.

I believe we're close. I read some accounts a few years back of how close it is. Did you know that the Jews right now are ready to perform sacrifices in the temple area? The temple hasn't been built yet, but they don't need it. Back in Nehemiah's day, all they did was lay the foundation before they started performing the sacrifices. According to God, that's official. You can build everything else later.

They have already anointed the four corners of the temple area. And it wasn't until the mid-1990's that there were carnivorous birds in the area of Israel. There were none whatsoever before then. The birds are going to come and eat the flesh of those who die in the battle of Armageddon. And that couldn't have happened before the mid-90's.

Also, there's a special die they use for the blue color in the priestly garment. I don't remember the name of it, but it comes from some type of sea creature that only comes ashore every 70 years. It came ashore in the late 90's. So they have the priestly garment's ready and they have already anointed the four corners. Plus they already have an altar set up.

Even though the antichrist might come in and say I am going to help you build your temple, he means the rest of it. He's going to help the Jews restart their sacrificing. And right in the middle of the tribulation period, he's going to step in and put his image in the holy of holies and say everybody must worship him.

Jesus told the Jews to flee when they see that happen because there's going to be great tribulation like the world has never seen. The church doesn't have to flee. The church will already be gone (Raptured) before then.

That is right: MANY NATIONS. Abraham had Isaac ... and Ishmael. Israel is one nation and>

    Genesis 17: 18-21

Ishmael was born in Gods permissive will.

    God blessed him

    Will make him fruitful

    Will multiply him exceedingly:

    Twelve princes shall he beget

I will make him a great nation

    That explains a lot I think, but read also Genesis 18: 18-19 There is a note to read: Gen 12:3, 22:28, psalm 72:17, Acts 3:25, Gal. 3:8-9, 16, 18

Isaac gets Israel (all the land of Canaan). I'd have to look at maps later.

There is great resentment in Israel right now. Palestinians want the land back pure & simple. They want everything that was Destroyed to be rebuilt, infrastructure and full access to Jerusalem. They want everything that the war of 1967 gained!!! It's mind boggling. Israel gets to be a state but loses what they fought for independence to regain.

This is the engine that is hurrying the earth to conclusion. It's partly why we are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. God is NOT going to rescind the covenant with Abraham.

One point about the Antichrist is found in Daniel 11:37....neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard ANY god: for he shall magnify himself. [a note refers to Isaiah 14:13 here]

Bottom line is that Antichrist is most likely descended from Ishmael. But he has no regard for his heritage.

He's moving under the radar but if enough people read Jerusalem Post dot com ?? We may see him in a crowd with a smirk.

The prophesies are about the Covenant; the land God has given to Israel through Isaac.

There are many people's that are returning that believe Jesus is the Messiah; they're happy about it; most likely have churches; evangelize...

How can you despise that? Israel is the apple of Gods eye. He rejects orthodox Torah carrying boneheads that will not receive His son. He is turning up the pressure every day. God has a plan! Quit railing and you will see.

Mishael - God himself has to bring ISRAEL to the land, not the godless antichrist United Nations, whose printer used to be called Lucifer Publishing and now is Lucis publishing.

Jeremiah 30:3 For, lo, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the LORD: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

God promised Abraham he would be the Father of MANY NATIONS.

Genesis 17:5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of MANY NATIONS have I made thee.

If the "Jews" are all of Abraham, then where are all these MANY "jewish nations".

There is only one and it was created by the antichrist United Nations and one is not many.

Either God lied (impossible) or the Jews are not all of Israel.

Where are the MANY JEWISH NATIONS of Abraham?

Besides Judah and Israel were not the same people. God divorced Israel and not Judah. One tribe does not equal many

Jeremiah 3:8 - And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

Israel and Judah had wars and different kings with different capitols. Samaria was capitol of Israel.

Galatians 3:29. - And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Does this mean that those in Christ ARE Abraham's seed?

Micah 3:10 - They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

Thanks for sharing this interesting post. It looks like the verses you are sharing are referring to the Mid-Tribulation time frame, the last 3-1/2 years of the 7 year tribulation period known as the Great Tribulation. I see this as the time God will spare His elect people, the Jews, from the events during those last 3-1/2 years of His wrath being poured out. Since there are 144,000 Jews who are sealed during the first 3-1/2 years, God is going to spare them from having to endure the final 3-1/2 years of His wrath, or "Shorten those days for them." You do make a great point that we cannot agree on the timing of the rapture, whether it is Pre/Mid/or Post Trib. That's been one of the most heated debates for quite some time. Again, thanks for sharing this.

John the Baptist, baptized Jesus in water.

Why should this be so heavily disputed? It is an act of obedience (ie. if it was good enough for Jesus it's good for me too)

When you receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior(born again), you are Sealed by the Holy Spirit; baptized in the Spirit. He is so gentle that if you aren't sure about His gifts (can I say it? Tongues) you don't have to say anything; He already knows it. Most important HE IS YOUR TEACHER. He can't teach you very much if you do not study the Bible for yourself!!! How do you feel when you have to spoon feed baby food, year after year. Jesus wants us to rely heavily on Him. Receive the Holy Spirit, His Gifts, His Ministry, everything.

One of the Psalms is totally about Jesus. Maybe someone here can remind me which one? All I know is that there are 150 Psalms. Psalm 91 is a real keeper. Psalm 51 is for repentance (I use it a lot)

    Goodnight beloveds

I'm just going to throw this in the comments about the time of the Rapture.

This may be why we are told to be Looking for Jesus 2 Peter 3:10-12.

Matthew 24:22 says...and except those days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elects sake those days shall be shortened.

Mark 13:20 says basically the same thing.
