    Luke 21 v 8

Sounds to me like these people are claiming the deity of Christ and his immediate return .

So common today , yet we are warned of them by Jesus .
  • BSP on Luke 21 - 3 years ago
In verses 29-31 the disciples were instructed to stop and look at the fig tree, notice the buds, and discern that summer was near. Today we must take notice of the events and conditions taking places around us and discern that soon Jesus will return and take action.

    Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers

    (19) Woe unto them.-Better, alas for them, or woe for them. The tone is that of pity rather than denunciation. The hardships of a hurried flight would press most heavily on those who were encumbered with infant children, or were expecting childbirth. The same tenderness of sympathy shows itself in the words spoken to the daughters of Jerusalem in Luke 23:28-29. Perhaps the words point to the darker horrors of the siege, when mothers were driven, in the frenzy of starvation, to feed on their infants' flesh.

You can open Google, type out your verse you want to study, type 'Commentary' after it, and Google will pull up the comments of Bible scholars.

i agree thadeus, this world especially in these times its easy to get distracted. we need that mind set throughout the week, and we need people like that in our circle to urge one another to stay grounded.
  • Thaddous g on Luke 21:34 - 3 years ago
Many Christians get distracted with the cares of the life we live now. Distracted by our finances or our business or loving golfing or some pleasure of ours to the point where we want to do nothing for the kingdom of God. Our Lord warns to keep him as our focal point, and not to be drunk or take more than what is necessary in this life into our hearts. He promised to provide all our needs, so if we just learn to rest IN HIM, we will never be caught off our Christian watch. In these end times, we have got to put our complete focus on HIM.

In Luke 21:32, the word generation (Greek: genea), can apply to a 'generation, race or family'. I don't believe that Jesus was speaking about a generation, as of forty years from the establishment of the State of Israel.

After His description of the manifold troubles that will come upon the Earth during the Great Tribulation & the dissolving of the Earth & skies, He says that only after all these things must come to pass, will this present generation (or, race) of mankind (particularly of Israel) finally end. But in the New Heavens & New Earth, only the redeemed of the Lord will inhabit it & where there will be no existence of sin at all, as all that have not repented & turned to the Lord will be consigned to the Lake of Fire (Revelation chapters 20 & 21).
  • Jeanne Ray on Luke 21 - 3 years ago
Does the Bible, say after Israel was made of state in 1948, that the generation of that year shall not pass away before the returning of Christ?

    Hello Leland,

Seeing your comment I just feel to post this. If a person has truly been "born again" and given their lives to the Lord. Repenting of all the things they have done in the past and living a new life for the Will of God. I believe anyone can become a servant of the Lord, or "Pastor", showing that no matter what someone has done there is always hope for them. Proving Jesus Christ is waiting with open arms for everyone.

As this may help other people, who feel guilty, in showing them how great the love of God truly is. As we look at the Apostle Paul. Who actually targeted followers of Christ to persecute and martyr them before his conversion.

Now if the person is not genuinely converted and serving the Lord. Still being into those past things. Steer clear of them.

    Hope that helps some.

A heretic is some one that refuses sound doctrine and teaches something else .

They can be admonished but resistance proves they are self condemned.

There is so much heretical teachings more than ever .

Only one truth and that is Jesus .

Jesus said clearly beware of false teachers .

    they will be the majority!

    Matthew 24. Luke 21 ,

All the apostles warned as well .

Stick close to the word of God ,

Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me . They will not follow a stranger , Jesus is our shepherd and protects his sheep , even laid down his life for his sheep !

I'm blessed and can say he has delivered me from so much evil in my life ! Amen !
  • Leland on Luke 21:32 - 3 years ago
What is a heretic? A pastor is saying that those who left his church are heretics and have instructed his congregation to have no more communication with them and to no longer associate with them. He has even told children to leave their parents and divide away from them as the parents. Those people were saved before attending and are now attending a closer Bile Baptist Church which teaches the Bible doctrine and salivation.
  • Leland on Luke 21:32 - 3 years ago
Can a pastor convicted of embezzlement and adultery and served prison for these of fences still be a pastor?

They refer to 1st reserrection. On the last day.

Nothing of pretrib rapture or reserrection.

Questions: "What happens at the end times? The end times is the final events of world history as we know it and is foretold by prophecy.

The end times is the final events of world history as we know it, punctuated by the rapture - tribulation - Battle of Armageddon - Christ returning - Satan being put into the pit - the 1,000 year millennium - Satan's release - Satan's final defeat - and mankind's final judgment, as expanded below. While many believe that these end time events are about to start, the truth is, we can only guess.

For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive. But each in turn: Christ, the firstfruits [from the cross]; then, when he comes [the rapture], those who belong to him. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all dominion, authority and power [after the 1,000 year millennium] ( 1 Cor. 15: 22-24).

    The Rapture

The word "Rapture" does not appear in the Bible but is used by Christians to describe an end time event. Rapture comes from the Latin word raptus which means "seize," "snatch" or "take away." It refers to those who obey and follow Jesus being taken up to meet Christ in the air.

This is the first rapture. The time when all the saints through out history will rise to receive new eternal bodies combined with their souls.

For the Lord himself, with a cry of command, with the archangel's call and with the sound of God's trumpet, will descend from heaven, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever ( 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).

The exact details of the rapture remain a mystery; however, we know that we will be physically resurrected at the Rapture ( John 5:29; Acts 24:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18).

    Luke ch 21 v 8

This verse is so today !

Anywhere you find the scriptures you find evil workers waiting to deceive!

Trust only the word of God , not men's interpretations of the word of God . That's why God gave us the Bible .

If a person actually understands it's because they have been taught by God s Holy Spirit, very rare these days . Every one has his version and does that what seems right to them . All unrighteousness. There is no private interpretation of scriptures. Seek the truth and be from errors like the Trinity godhead , and the rapture doctrines , together they are very potent and effective to rob people of faith and Gods blessings , the spirit of Antichrist is real and has its victims that prefer sin over obedience.

Read your Bible prayerfully don't take my word for it discover for your self . Beware of the deceivers !

    Luke 21 v 36

Watch ye therefore , and pray always , that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass , and to stand before the Son of man .

Dear reader have you ever prayed this prayer ?

Only the father knows the day and hour .

Even if you die before this one time event at the coming of The Lord Jesus etc ... you still must stand before the Lord when you are resurrected from the dead . Will we be ashamed or rejoice ? No one escapes the coming of the Lord dead or alive .

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom . We are instructed to be found without blame and be in peace in him, only the Lord can do this for us . Trust Him and he will see you through even to the last day !

No other way but through him . All instructions found in the Bible . This prayer is a big one !

verse 24 .......TIMES of the Gentiles Be Fulfilled. 25 And there SHALL be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; 26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. 27 And then shall they see the SON OF MAN coming in a cloud with power and great glory. 28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Note: again JESUS makes it known to us HE is concern with our SALVATION plus HIS soon return to earth (see verse 28), so HE give us another notice /clear warning through 24-28 above.

Note: with TIME running out and 24-28 needing to quickly reach the whole world, so JEHOVAH /GOD sent us high-tech thereby quickly reaching the whole world so everybody gets notice /warning of SALVATION through JESUS, and HIS return.

Note: thees signs in 24-28 above are taking place before our eyes /ears every day and most humans do not see /hear them because where applicable most has allowed ourselves to be 110 % overwhelmed by cares of this world such as: earning money, no job, bills, 401K, health, hard-headed children, evictions, wrongs committed against us, ..., ...,

Note: we must not allow daily battles /war blind or discourage us from seeking and accepting SALVATION (see John 3:16-21 or similar verses for SALVATION through JESUS) thereby we avoid THE LAKE OF FIRE (see Rev: 20:15).

34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life and so that day come upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare SHALL it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. 36 Watch ye therefore, and PRAY ALWAYS, THAT YE MAY BE ACCOUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS THAT SHALL COME TO PASS, and to stand before the SON OF MAN.
