the question for Luke chptr 17 spoke about the Lord healing 10 men but the question throw me because HOW MANY LEAPERS JESUS HEALED IN THE WHOLE BIBLE? An if you look at it this way the Lord had healed more than the questions was asking. I feel the question was out of order because of the statement that the Lord Luke 12 when the Lord entered into the village THERE WERE 10 LEPERS,

To Mary Nickel. See Isaiah 4 verse 1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach. Read chapter 3 to better understand this verse.

  • Mary Nickell on Luke 17 - 7 years ago
My dad had told me long ago about women being so bad in the last days, and the Bible saying that they would be begging for a man and man would have nothing more to do with them. Was trying to find it and am having trouble with looking for it. If you could find it, I would appreciate it. Thank you

from that event there is a lesson of tithe. Ten were heal right? one came back to say THANK u. I found out that Jesus now bless and prayed for him initially he didn't he only sent them. so when we pay tithe from what He has bless us with he add more and increases it, remember also when you say thank you, you enroll for more blessing. 1 return, and he was enroll for more blessing.

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Sadly in this world around there is drinking ,and sexual deviants,etc....and unless people stop and look around, and see that if they continue in there ways , they will surely like in noahs day be left in tidal surge of mans ignorance

In verse 17 Jesus asked where the other 9 lepers that were healed were. Only 1 leper turned around to thank Jesus for what he had done. We want to make sure we are expressing our thankfulness each day.

  • John Hodge on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
This chapter is reminding man, to get ready because His coming is very near. God also displaying His, Unconditional-Love to mankind, still asking that old question 'Adam where art thou? Throughout the ages He's asking that same question in Luke, asking where are the rest 90 in giving 'Thanks' to God and His Son for His Loving-kindness and tender-mercy...in spite of our un-thankfulness to Him. In the days of Lot and Noah man god is still materialistic things until now! God sill loves us and giving us time to repent and be prepared for His soon returns to this earth.

Luke is a very a interesting chapter and its a eye opening verse and I teaches you that went god blesses you must give thanks to him and serve him that when you are in need again he can help you and when you don 't thank him. HE WILL forgive you and he will help you again because he forgives you 70 7
  • Sandy on Luke 17 - 8 years ago
Heres what I got out of this chapter. People better get right with God now! God isn 't going to wait for us to get ready.. God can do whatever he wants, He 's God and he created us for him!!

This verse once again shows the weakness of women after that of Eve that they are more materialistic than spiritual. It asks us all to be mindful of the heavenly possession than the earthly ones.

Too many words! "The kingdom of God is within " and without, and among , and everywhere---in a way it God IS every particle of matter atom, has no perceptible form, is INEFFABLE---incapable of being expressed in words. I once experienced "IT " as a dissolving ego structure---inner and outer were one as a feeling of complete wholeness oneness with everything---and incredible freedom and lightness, and ultra-happiness. The commonly used word "bliss " doesn 't quite describe the feeling perception I had. The dissolving of ego boundaries within oneself is ineffable, and has left me with perplexing questions with few answers. The Religious have intellectual explanations---too many words---The Psychologists, I think, are nearer to an understanding and explanation of the "within and without " experience of God 's Kingdom i.e.. REALM .

As a Citizens of the Kingdom of God, We must UNDERSTAND what is the Kingdom of God which Jesus was Preached. The Kingdom of God will not come by observation, but it is within ourself, so we must Understand it deeper by reading HIS word, in Matthew 6 Jesus taught us how to pray, Your Kingdom come Your Will be done on earth as it is in heaven, We are busy doing things and hurrying to go to heaven waiting for rapture. but God wants us to do to make Earth just like heaven, that is his Purpose of Making us, to dominate the earth just like God dominating Heaven....God made us in his Image and Likeness in order for us to act on earth just like He act in Heaven......Dont be hurry going to Heaven, Dominate first the Earth..........God Bless
  • Danice Edge on Luke 17:21 - 9 years ago
I agree with Roberts comments, that the spirit is in you and when gathered together within our midst among you. Could this be really talking about our spirits and not be anything physical. The Holy Spirit is 'indwelling '......so why ? Is this verse shutting down churches?
  • Insight 777 on Luke 17 - 9 years ago
Verse 26, the days of the Son of man are days of destruction of life on earth. Jesus will have to fight in this war. A world destruction, the end of days told by John of the future. This is nuclear World War 3. There will be no warning on the news before the first nuclear missile hits, it will be a total surprise to all but the aggressor. The Son of man is revealed in this war. Verse 31, war is happening, let those in helicopters not come down to rescue any of their belongings, perhaps even including people, in an area of nuclear blast. They can not be rescued because they are deathly radiated. No belonging can ever be used again if saturated in radiation. A soldier in the field can not return to a base that has been nuclear blasted. Neither can a person at work return home to an area of nuclear contamination. Verse 33, if man places value on earthy things and considers his life defined by his car, jewelry, money etc. then he will lose his life if he tries to rescue this stuff. But if a man realizes that his life is more valuable that earthly possessions then he will save his life by not trying to retrieve these items. Verse 34, the night is night of conflict, the bed is the battlefield the men are opposing armies. One will win, one will lose. The same symbolism applies with women as this war affects everyone. The body is the battlefield, the eagles are fighter jets.
  • Stephende on Luke 17:37 - 9 years ago
It 's not about when God 's Son shall return to us but when we shall return to him. Paul said we should comfort our selfs with the notion of Jesus returning to earth in the clouds. But it is incumbent upon us that we be about the work of serving him and not expecting to be exalted in that work. It is our duty and nothing more.
  • Emmanuel Motshegoa on Luke 17:32 - 9 years ago

Comment on verse 29.yes, you are right. If it was important to know the name of Lot 's wife, Jesus would have mentioned it in this chapter and verse. It wont bring any spiritual wealth in our lives, if we knew her name. Once again we see how accurate the Word is.

This is how a perfect servant of the King of kings ought to be.He she is summoned anytime, does not complain but still presents himself before God to serve.a servant of God does not resemble a worker who starts a job at 8am to 5pm, but is always available.

Luke 17 7 9 is a metaphor, teaching us that in doing the works of God,will not only Increase our faith, but will perfect Our faith, that is why Jesus gave, the Gospel,to teach us to obey it, to make our faith perfect.in Christ Henry McNally

it seems this man returned to thank a great man for his healing and instead found complete healing through the Son of God. what a witness he had become following a thankful heart. His testimony would be the greatest of all.
