I'm assuming you are taking the entire chapter? Verses 5-13 talk about giving. In V.5, the emphasis is the word friend.

To understand V.6, in the Middle Eastern custom, it was very hospitable to have bread and food waiting for visitors no matter when they came. That would be the Middle Eastern custom thing to do. And he says, he came at midnight and he journeyed. And he came and I have nothing to put in front of him.

    V.7: The person inside says four things: Number 1: stop troubling me: He sounds like my house if somebody knocked on my door at midnight wanting bread. Secondly: the door is now shut, that means that it is barred closed. And my children are with me in bed;

You may have heard of the family bed. It is a Middle Eastern custom. They would close the door, and how they would keep warm is they would all get into one bed. As a matter of fact, on evenings when it is was real cold, they would bring the livestock in, not in bed, but in the same room, just to get them indoors.

Fourthly: he says I cannot rise and give to you. We are all in bed, we are all warm, lights out, door closed, and you are knocking on my door and you are saying you want bread. It won't happen!

Verse 8: Jesus said, I say unto you, though he will not rise and give to him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity, and that is a big word! In the Greek, it means shameless persistence. There's no shame in this man. He's going to keep pounding on the door until you get up and give him what he wants. "You only want 3, I'll give you 7. Just go home, leave me alone."

Carry that thought over because people say that's what you need to do with God. You need to be persistent, nag Him. Make Him give you what you are praying for!

But if I may suggest to you that the Lord is not teaching about comparison. He's teaching about contrast. If you as human beings, if somebody is knocking on your door, you will get up and give it to them just to get rid of them. But God is not that way!

We all must repent and pray. And have everyone you know to do the same; have them also to spread the word. Do not take this lightly; satan the father of lies have this government in his hand.and he will not rest until the east attack the West; United States.

Jesus said this because Nineveh Assyria repented at the preaching of Jonah. Read the book of Jonah if you want more. Yet Jesus did many miracles proving his ministry when Jonah did no miracles. But that town would not repent at the preaching of Jesus. that is why Jesus said Nineveh would rise up in judgment and condemn the town.
Jesus taught repentance and few did what Jesus said.

Our church is having problems with a potential a nasty split. The passage in Luke 12:49:-53 feel happened, Unfortunately my pastor resigned to stop the infighting but there was a group that definitely did not want to see him as our Pastor. The otherYour other unfortunate problem. was they were using their contributes as a way to force a vote that would force the pastor to. resign. I also .

The Gospel, that is of God, is not bought with money: for that is adultery. The Gospel, that is of God, is not preached for lucre: for that is whoredom. As it is written, Freely ye have received, freely give. The Gospel, that is of God, is that Christ is now come, in his flesh. As it is written, For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God: for God gives not the Spirit by measure unto him.

The whole chapter is a raw teaching of Christ, so inspirational, full of authority; even a certain woman of the company noted it in verse 27 and exclaimed: "Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked". How I wish we will adhere to it in Jesus Name.

Are the saved, filled with the Spirit? Are you, filled with the Spirit? "Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his". Rom 8:9...Are you filled with the Spirit? If not, see vs.13, where Jesus said, "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him". Precious Promise indeed.

Sermon of Jesus, the man who loved God. These parables urge us to direct our supplication to God, from whom the wonders come forth. As Jonah, whose preaching caused the men, and women to repent. As Queen of Sheba, who sought wisdom from the wisest man alive. Woe to the lawyers, for they profit from the misery they inflict. Woe to the religious hiarchy, hypocrites in their complicity with Gov.

We see a parent on how God carries out punishment. Just as how God sent out Jonah to warn the Ninevites before destruction was to be, so today God warns us. The time we have now is the time we need to take to repent and draw closer to our Heavenly Father Jehovah. May we use this time to study the Bible, and come to an accurate knowledge of the truth.

Many miss this: That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation; Before this generation was over in 70 AD Jerusalem was over run and the Temple was destroyed. Many that were slain in the past for serving God in Truth were raised from the dead and joined with their bodies. Matthew 27: 52 and 53.

"But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." A woman in the crowd lifted up her voice, perhaps thinking that she is boldly confessing and honoring the Lord by praising His mother but what is she really doing? Another attempt of the devil to get people's eyes off of Jesus, and on to a fictitious Queen of heaven? The spirit of the pagan subtly trying to make a road in among the Saints AGAIN? What kind of spirit was crying out, O blessed Mama of Jesus! Yes Mary was blessed AMONG women but not ABOVE any of them! Jesus the Son of God come in flesh, HE IS THE BLESSED ONE! And ALL our affection and praise is to HIM! So His response to her immediately puts away all idolaters as ignorance, confusion, and worthless making us all equal both with respect to Him and toward each other: and the "Blessed" AMONG us "They that hear the Word of God and keep it!"

This scripture came in my email at the same time I was thinking of registering for an online course. I feel like God is telling me to go for it. I want to do something to help out my family. I have faith in our Lord to get me through it and with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit by my side, I know I can do it!

When jesus says Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered. He is talking about Meditation, that is how one enters in one self. as he says in Mat 6:33 "Seek first the kingdom of God", and repeats 5 times in this sequence, "Take No Thought". for where is the Kingdom of god? Luke 17:21. Within you.
