I do believe that he felt the spirit that came from god, at the time of his baptism depart, just before his death. It is finished.
  • JBey - In Reply on Luke 11:5 - 3 years ago
While on the cross Jesus became Sin; a horror for the Father to see.

He took upon Himself not only the Sins of those who came before, but those who where alive at the time of His crucifixion- as well as those born after. Moreover, Jesus not only became Sin personified, but took on every sickness and disease. A metamorphosis took place while Jesus hung on the Cross; he became a curse - all of which had to be rejected and condemned by the Father.

This is something I am sure is easy to answer but I just have wondered about it but when Jesus was on the cross why did he say My God My God why have thee forsaken me. I thought maybe that he was in so much pain he did not know what he was saying? Thanks.

This luke 11 : 27 Tells us alot about y Jesus refers to himself as the SON OF MAN. That woman that was praising Mary was saying blessed is the womb that bear you and the paps you have sucked but Jesus was talking bout another Woman the world that is gonna birth a baby Christ that is more blessed then MARY rather blessed are them that hear the Word ( that good seed ) and keeps it. That good seed is gonna make the WORLD HIS Mother he said the field is the world where that good seed is gona be sown which is humanity that is gonna give birth simply b/c of that good seed that is gonna be sown in THE FIELD. i.e the world is gonna be more blessed then MARY simply b/c we are gonna have a baby Christ THE SON OF MAN,MANKINDS FRUIT UNTO GOD via that good seed . ( them that hear the word that good seed ) and keeps it . I.E. the new birth via that good seed . Remember he said if i be lifted up i will draw ALL MEN unto me THE WORLD, God so loved the world etc. Jesus asked who is my Mother then he said them that hear the WORD and keeps it bringing forth fruit unto God. Its the CHURCH the bride that is gonna birth a baby Christ which is the H.G. the CHILD OF PROMISE thus in a sense the Church is greater then Mary. 27 times in the O.T. the prophets saw the world in travail and birth pains thus the world is gona have a baby Christ ,That was the great PROMISE i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven thus the world is gona have a baby Christ the SON OF MAN OK GBU. He wants the world to be his mother. Finally the woman gives birth to a baby Christ which is the manchild THE H.G.that is gona rule all nations. Which answers to the ISRAEL OF GOD. I know its a bit deep but David said we wd go down to sea in ships( fellow ship ) and do business in deep waters ( in the spritual realm.) ok gbu

The mentioning of lawyers in this passage & others is not how we understand that profession & their work today. In Jesus' day, lawyers were 'doctors of traditions'. They were famous for multiplying men's religious obligations often with 'hair splitting' interpretations making them extremely grievous for people to bear. And they were skilled in showing their obedience to these traditions but in fact were avoiding it themselves. It was a case of 'preaching what others should do yet not practising what they preach'. And how guilty some preachers are today: giving long & careful exposition of the Word in all piety, but leading lives inconsistent to what they proclaim. To these, Jesus came down heavily & called them 'hypocrites', as He did to the scribes & pharisees.

Lawyers today have a similar work of examining the Law with a 'fine toothed comb' to ensure that their clients get the best possible outcome, but their profession restricts them to defending (or, prosecuting) rather than one of enforcement. So in one sense, the lawyers of Jesus' day could be likened to the law enforcing officials of today, without the matter of hypocrisy becoming an issue as it was for the Jews in those days.

Verse 46 seems not to speak well of lawyers or is it my reading of it. Luke 11 v.46.

Theres a third place, a place called paradise where we will be judged for the good or the bad that we have done while we was alive.
  • Chris - In Reply on Luke 11 - 3 years ago
Dylan, you've touched on several aspects of God's dealing with us.

Firstly, when the Bible speaks of 'election' it means that God had in the distant past selected those that would be His children, receive His favour & partake of His Kingdom. Israel is said to be His elect (e.g. Isaiah 45:4) & now those also who have now come to Him for salvation through Jesus Christ His Son (e.g. Colossians 3:12). So if a person does not fall into those categories (i.e. Israel & those born again of God's Spirit), they are not classified as the Elect of God. If a person leads a good life & is generous with his goods to others, this still does not make him acceptable to God, since not one person, bar Christ, was ever good enough to please God ( Romans 3:10, 23).

Now, there's another word similar in meaning to 'election', & that is 'predestination'. These words are almost interchangeable except 'predestination' is used exclusively to born again believers who have been predestined (again, we were appointed before time), to partake in the adoption process. That is, believers might have been elected to be partakers of Kingdom Life, but we have also been appointed to go through the adoption process whereby God, in Love & Mercy, takes someone not in His original family & brings him into His family because of his faith in Jesus Christ. (see Ephesians 1:5, 11). So as a result of our adoption, our predestination into God's Family includes that we don't have Hell as our destiny, but Heaven.

The Bible doesn't speak of any other place where people who die can go to, except Heaven or Hell. Some religions teach falsely of an intermediary place (e.g. purgatory), for a period of further cleansing so as to enter Heaven, but Jesus always taught that there are only two places ( Matthew 18:1-11, for an example of either entering Heaven or Hell). And the decision we make on Earth now determines where our eventual destiny will be. Some mistakenly believe they are on the right way but..for Proverbs 14:12.

What happens 2 the people who dont go TO hell or heaven?

what if u were good and christ child but you were not a elect?

    Wesley's Notes for Luke 11:52

11:52 Ye have taken away the key of knowledge - Ye have obscured and destroyed the knowledge of the Messiah, which is the key of both the present and the future kingdom of heaven; the kingdom of grace and glory. Ye have not entered in - Into the present kingdom of heaven.

People's Bible Notes for Luke 11:52

Lu 11:52 Taken away the key of knowledge. Matthew, in different words, gives the thought. " Mt 23:12".

The Pharisees highly resented everything Jesus said about himself. The refused Him as the Son of God, Messiah: and they sought to have him arrested for Blasphemy.

Try to read the Gospels one after another and you will see the works of the Pharisees, Sadducees and the Scribes.

Comments by Alex about the Woman in luke 11 v 28. She was praising Mary, But Jesus had another woman in mind which is humanity the world.Rather blessed are them that hear the WORD and keeps it thats humanity the world as he said the field was the world where that good seed will be planted and they will birth a baby Christ the son of man they are more blessed simply b/c they neva lose their Child. the H.G. The Child of Promise the Kingdom. Unless you receive the Kingdom as a lil child etc.Isaiah says thou shall suck dry the breasts of the GENTILES meaning the world is gona birth a baby Christ they are more blessed. Kings shall be your nursing fathers and Queens shall be your nursing mothers. The world is gona birth a BABY CHRIST WHICH IS THE H.G. THE CHILD OF PROMISE. Thats y he always refers to himself as the SON OF MAN.Mankind has to bring forth fruit unto God which is the H.G. Another Christ the GRANSON, beginning of the Israel of God That was the Promise. The Promise that Christ wd be multiplied as the stars of heaven is just prophetic that there is gonna be an Israel of God,Thats y he told Moses that his name was Abraham Issac and Jacob, THAT IS MY NAME FOREVER AND MY MEMORIAL TO ALL GENERATIONS.Thus its the father that wants a posterity,Christ was just his 1st born of many brethren, he wants to be multiplied as the stars of heaven in our hearts,Thats y Jesus said to whom the WORD came it made them Gods . Thats who he is talking about when he mentions the babes and sucklings is the multiplcation of CHRIST. GODS Thats y the woman is giving birth the child is a baby Christ That are gonna be as the stars of heaven,The Children of Promise them that hear his Words and keeps them are the Woman that Jesus had in mind when he told the woman in luke 11 Rather blessed are them that hear the word and keeps it.

The best evidence of the Holy Spirit in a person is that Jesus Christ is glorified:

( John 16:13-15) - Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

( 1 Corinthians 12:3) - Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

The same chapter 12 in 1 Corinthians lists certain gifts of the Spirit and explains their true purpose; to build up the Church. Tongues was but one of the sign gifts. Paul teaches its proper place in 1 Corinthians chapter 14.

Ephesians chapter 5 exhorts us to walk worthy and be filled with the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of our walking in the Spirit:

( Galatians 5:22-23) But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

It occurred in the permissive will of God: Sarah gave her maid to Abraham to obtain a child.

It had been some time since She & Abraham were promised a child by God. You should read the Whole story in Genesis.

It wasn't how God said it would happen. The boy Ishmael was 1/2 brother to Isaac.

God already had said the Covenant child would come through Abraham & Sarah.

He blessed Ishmael, but Ishmael is not part of the Abrahamic Covenant that includes ALL of the land of Israel. That's what they are fighting about in Israel, every day. It's in the news every day.

Ismaels descendants are the Palestinians. The Israelis are the descendants of Abraham who own the deed on the Land of Israel. It is recorded in Genesis.

    **********

The Battle of Armageddon will be fought over the land and the Israelis right to live on it. Stupid ignorant American Politicians will try to force the Jews/Israelis to give up land for Peace.

GODS blessing is on those who bless Israel. If United States forced them to give up land for peace: THEN the USA will be cursed by God. That's all of us and kids too.

Y'all better get active calling up representatives and get into some strong protest; threats to switch parties; not re-elect them. Nows a good time to speak up.

If you're going to be passive and silent; you better be born again!!

We're fixing to be Raptured off this Rock.

For the Record: Twitter, Facebook, and Google are going to be taken over by the Antichrist. I expect there is a deal in the wind, already. Read the tech news.

Comments by Alex on the great Promise. Gal 3 v 16 Now unto Abraham and his seed was the Promise made but he said not unto seeds plural but unto 1 seed which is Christ. Thus its Christ that is gonna be multiplied as the stars of heaven and thats y the sower will go forth to sow his precious seed in Humanity that he might be multiplied in us sinners via his seed the Word . The words of the new covenant that God said he wd put in our hearts and minds after THOSE DAYS indicative of a certain 2 day-2000 yr period that has to be fulfilled ( the times of restitution scrip. speaks of ) God swore by himself when he made this PROMISE of multiplication meaning he himself was gonna be multiplied in humanity the world Thats y jesus is saying to whom the WORD came it made them Gods Which is the H.G. THAT CHILD OF PROMISE JESUS MENTIONS . which IS EMANUEL GOD with us the H.G. another COMFORTER IN ESSENCE another Solomon that is gona build the great Temple with in US. the temple of God is with MAN simply b/c of that great Promise of multiplication i will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven thus the babes and the sucklings that can Praise him perfectly the H.G. THAT IS GONNA BE AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN TY JESUS. Smite the shephard and the sheep will be scattered THEN I WILL TURN MY HAND TO THE LITTLE ONES ( MULTIPLCATION ) B/C OF HIS DEATH. When a seed dies it multipliies, he told the Greeks unless a seed dies it abides alone but if it dies it will bring forth much fruit,The Greeks wanted to see him as the whole world wants to see him. Thus the whole world will see him simply b/c of his death which will result in Christ in all of US, many as the stars of heaven,so shall thy Seed be. Thats y he refers to the H.G as the Promise the H.G IS THE MULTIPLICATION OF CHRIST in US via his seed. Without that Promise SEED we cd not be bornagain of an incorruptiile seed even by the Words of God as Peter says THAT LIVETH AND ABIDETH FOR EVER IMPLING the Living WORDS . gbu

In response to Luke 11:28 I would add, that when I am going through some unbearable moment. As a christian I should be reminded that; since "all good things come from the giver of life." I do not have a reason to complaint because "all things (at the end) are (intended)for the good of them that loved the Lord." Just go through, it in spite of the pain!! Don't complaint, that is hearing and doing the will of God He will reward you. God bless you

In 1 Kings 10, when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD, she came to prove him with hard questions. Jesus used her as an example to shame the Jews who were full of unbelief regarding himself as God in the flesh ( 1 Timothy 3:16 ).

Likewise in Luke 4:24-28, Jesus used the example of the widow of Zarephath in 1 Kings 17 and Naaman the Syrian in 2 Kings 5 to show that the prideful Jews who considered the Gentiles as dogs were hindered from the Kingdom by their own unbelief while the despised ones gained acceptance with God by their faith.

In Romans 11, Paul explains that though the Jews were wrong to reject Jesus Christ and demand his crucifixion, God turned their failure into salvation for the Gentiles so that he might have mercy upon all. And he is yet able to save Israel when the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
