Discussion for Luke 24:45

  • verse 45 is a great doctrinal truth on understanding Scripture. A man may be a genius having all knowledge of the things of this world and completely miss the understanding of Scripture. Keep in mind that eleven in this room spent 3 years with the very Son of God and they missed it. Verse 45 states Jesus opened their understanding , that they might understand.1 Cor:2:14 states that the natural man, or better unsaved man, receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him: neither can he know them, that is the things of God, because they are spiritually discerned, or understood. When ever you see an attack on the Bible it is a clear declaration the person or persons trying to debunk it is not a Christian. They will always set themselves up as some authority reducing the Bible to men written literature at best.2 Timothy3:16 states all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. No wiggle room there. It is God breathed. I like what the prophet Jeremiah said in chapter 8:9, the wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken, lo they have rejected the Word of the Lord and what wisdom is in them?
