Wesley's Notes for Luke 10:30

10:30 From Jerusalem to Jericho - The road from Jerusalem to Jericho (about eighteen miles from it) lay through desert and rocky places: so many robberies and murders were committed therein, that it was called the bloody way. Jericho was situated in the valley: hence the phrase of going down to it. About twelve thousand priests and Levites dwelt there, who all attended the service of the temple.

People's Bible Notes for Luke 10:30

Lu 10:30-37 A certain [man]. A Jew of Jerusalem. Went down. It was a constant descent from Jerusalem to Jericho, over 3,000 feet in eighteen miles. Fell among robbers. The road is a dark, desolate, mountain pass, dangerous then, so beset by robbers still that no traveler dares go through it without a guard. Whuch stripped him. Not only of raiment, but of all he had; then left him, stunned, bleeding, unconscious, nearly dead.

Discussion for Luke 10

"Who is this guy???" It is shameful and horrifying how easily some think they can talk so flippant and disrespectful about the Son of God, who came to earth out of pity FOR YOU to sacrifice Himself IN YOUR PLACE to bear the punishment of YOUR SINS, when He had done nothing wrong! Christian has nothing to do with paradigm of religion. The ONLY WAY God said we can be saved is through His Son Jesus.
  • A disciple
servant; Jesus Christ the Son of God who was with the Father from everlasting to everlasting; came down from heaven and was manifest to the world in the flesh to fulfill the Word from the beginning of God's Anointed breaking the serpent's head, and therewith taking away the sin of the world by His own bruising; rising again from dead the third day, a confirmation from God that JESUS is the Judge!
  • Servant of God
Who is this guy who came to earth and changed the paradigm of the world of religion. Even today, our beliefs are so diverse and contentious that we are willing to war over discrepancies, between Christians, Muslims, Jews. Oh Israel, who has heard from the Father himself in olden times and the prophets through out time, where are we as a nation of people, squabbling daily, at each others throats?
  • Son of David
You see that Jesus was every bit as human as you or me, even subject to emotions of doubt and distress. What a teacher! He demonstrates not as rhe hypocrites who say and who does not practice. What is love but the word of the Father which Jesus received and gave to whosoever he would. Their is no respect of persons with Jesus, the Christ. He came to earth miraculously and went his way sowing
