Bible Commentary for Luke 1:31

Wesley's Notes for Luke 1:31

1:32 He shall be called the Son of the Highest - In this respect also: and that in a more eminent sense than any, either man or angel, can be called so. The Lord shall give him the throne of his father David - That is, the spiritual kingdom, of which David's was a type.

1:33 He shall reign over the house of Jacob - In which all true believers are included.

Because He is all of those and more...the names of God are numerous...He is God...healer, deliverer, Saviour, shepherd, bread of life, the Branch, the root of Jesse, Son of David, Son of Man, Bright Morning Star, Alpha and Omega, Wonderful Counselor, the Nazarene, Mighty God, Everlating Father, the Prince of Peace! There is no end to the list. He is all of those if you search the scriptures you will find this to be so. He is also named the Light of the world...the resurrection and the Life, the Way, the Truth, the Life...I love Him with all my heart!

Paul wrote, there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him. 1 Corinthians 8:6 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: Mark 12:29

My brother, I fear that you have been seduced by false doctrine. Please remember that God the father and Jesus the lord are 2 separate beings. The book of Genesis quotes God the father saying, "I am God and there is none beside me." On the other hand Jesus said, "My father works and I work, I do nothing of myself, but my father who is in heaven." The son cannot be his own father, nor the father be his own son. The names given in the first chapter of Rev. are revealed to be pertaining to God the father when one reads Rev. 1:4&5. Please take note of the word 'and' at the beginning of vs.5.

My dear friend, if you are posting questions so you can have a fight that is not good. Only dogs fight (Revelation 22:15; Revelation 11:1-2). The word Elohim (God) is plural (Eloah being its singular) See: (Genesis 1:2; Genesis 1:26; John 1:1; Isaiah 9:6; Deuteronomy 6:4). Your line of reasoning is the same as saying that while your mother and father are Williams, you are simply Kevin so you do not wear their title because you are only the son. There is God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Please read Revelation 19:11-16, Revelation 1, Ezekiel 1, John 1. Read also the apostle Paul to the Phillipians (Philipians 2:12).

However, I will not continue this...Matthew 13:41. May God bless you.

I agree with you my brother. By your response, I know that you are genuine..back to the "Parable of the sower" the right seed planted in the wrong ground never produces anything and as such will not yield any fruit. Hearts must be good ground and receptive to receive the benefit of the word. Jesus taught using real life examples to teach...for example he said over and over, "The Kingdom of Heaven is like." I believe that one of the ways that we can show that Jesus is also a Father is to look at our own family relationships, beginning with Adam, the father of Seth, the father of Noah, the father of Shem....the father of Terah, the father of Abraham, the father of Isacc, the father of Israel. The title of father is being handed down through generations even in our own families. Christ is Father to us who believe in him that he is not just the Son but has also inherited the title of Father...we are called his little children because we are begotten of him through his blood through the lineage of King David who is our father too. Jesus is Son of God and Son of Man.

Another example is that God called the first man and woman Adam which means earth (Gen 5:3). Adam (male) was the one to name Adam his wife (female) eve. Because they are our foreparents all of humanity is called "earth"...besides read John 10:34-38 and Psalm 82:1-6. Those who are born of God the Psalmist says are gods. Jesus said, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30-33; Deuteronomy 6:4; Philippians 2:6).

Jesus also called the church his bride so we are also one with him.

Any title of God is inherited by Christ who is the begotten of the Father (Psalm 2:7; Hebrews 5:5). Our children refer to us as father and mother although we ourselves call out parents the same...I hope this helps.

As Christians we believe in the triune God; Father, Son and Holy Ghost, three distinct Persons in one divine Being, or Essence. (The Holy Trinity)

Matthew 28:19 "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:"

John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

John 1:2 "The same was in the beginning with God."

John 1:14 "And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

1 John 5:7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."

1 John 5:8 "And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."

Yes. And Jesus is also a Father to Israel, the church, his body because he is the Son of David. He is the head of the body, and therefore the brain power of the body. He has also given us the power to become sons of God because we believe on his name (John 1:12).

The church is the New Jerusalem. The ancient nation of Isreal can only access God the Father through Christ, their promised Messiah. If they reject Christ, they have not God the Father (1 John 5:12; 2:23).

God told me to tell everybody that he is coming and told me to warn the very least among us from the son of perdition (doom), the anti-christ, from Daniel's little horn (the kingdom of Judea). On march 22, 2019, God woke me up about 2:02 in the morning to the sound of the trumpet, followed by the declaration, "Jesus, the Messiah."

God also told me "The next One World Order will be Communism where the military again will be champion."

He told me also, "The Beast will come from the Mediterranean" and "When the World Dictator comes he will have a translator with him."

He has told me many things that I have documented and will share for free when I am done writing.

Please join me in letting others know that our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is coming very soon but before he comes, the anti- christ (2 Thess. 2:1-12).

Those who reject Christ are in opposition to Christ or anti- christ (Judaism and Islam). They are striving over an inheritance from their father Abraham that they can only access through the cross.

To believe in Our Father is GLORY TO THE KING! To explain in your words without guidance from His Spirit ....is powerless!

HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND LIFE !

    Believeth thou this?

    I AM THAT I AM !

    Believest thou this?

So what is it you show any, when you yourself do not believe!

Faith find you and set you free in The Mighty name of JESUS
