Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal,
The Lord knoweth them that are His.
And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from inquity. 11 Timothy 2:19

Leviticus Chapter 9 is telling us about MOISES receiving instructions from God to speak to the children of Israel that they SHOULD be HOLY because HE is HOLY stating ALL HIS COMMANDMENTS (v.1-37) saying, "Therefore shall ye OBSERVE ALL my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: I am the LORD" (v.37). LET US "OBSERVE AND DO" THEM "STRICTLY" AND "WITHOUT QUESTIONING" SO THAT WE SHALL BE FOUND "HOLY" IN THE "SIGHT" OF GOD.
Context and content, he is separating his people from a pagan cult, do we in America have pagan cults that are doing this now, hum? Also shaving the head? We can't pick and choose what we want to believe.Other scriptures talk about a women hair being long, most women have hair as short as mens hair in the church today, is this a sin also, hum?Think hard before stating a opinion, understand the context and content first!
The scripture in question is referring to pagan cults that mark their bodies to morn the dead, do we have pagan cults in America that do this now, hum? It also talks about the hair not to be shaven. You need to understand the context and content before forming a opinion and using it on Americans.
There are many things that are sin. God gives us insight into his thinking. Don't purposely tat or damage your body is one. Sin actual meaning is an archery term which means "to miss the mark" God created this world with priciples to live guides on how to best live this life. So you don't grieve the one who gave you this beautiful life to live. If you are a Christian you were bought with a price don't purpose to live against God but with Him so your life is blessed.
Too many so called Christians are trying to bend and twist Gods word to fit what they want into their life,It does NOT matter what you may say you think,if Gods Written Word
says otherwise and you continue to convince yourself it doesn't mean what it says you are in some serious trouble!
each christian has his or her own relationship with the father, which also means spiritual level of understanding,in all things there is prayer and supplication, then discernment that will come.
Your heart will be convicted what to or not to do
I believe that God is calling me to a dark place to witness to those who will not be reached other than from us who believe and look like them. I have peace. I have His Spirit. Amen
I agree it's wrong for several reasons, one is that the law says not to do it. Another is that piercing and tattoos scare the body. Although we can't see this, our skin sends messages throughout the body and if it is scared the natural healing can not take place. We become block and then we get sick. God created our bodies and he should know what is good for us. Another thing is idolatry, cutting yourself or putting a tatoo of your dead loved ones on your body is exactly what he says not to do. The good news is that when you get born again your under grace and so you get a clean slate. Don't do it again.
Vs 18 Love thy neighbor as thyself! Established in the old testament, reinforced in the new. Halleluiah! Yahweh is merciful. He has laid out a path for mankind. Live for Yahweh not for what is popular. When it comes to the Sabbath, his word continues to speak to us. Let us confirm to His word.
Verses to consider. Isaiah 49:15 and 16
(15) "Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!
(16) See, I [God] have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me. Revelation 19:16
On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Leviticus 19 also forbids wearing two mixed materials on the body (cotton/poly blend); Sewing seeds of a different kind next to each other; eating things with blood (filet medium rare or rare); and shaving around your head. For those who want to condemn tattoos (which weren't even called tatoos in Bible times)I would ask Do you eat steak medium rare, do you wear poly? Do you plant corn next to beans? Be careful of the judgments you lay on others. Read Matthew 23 to see how Jesus felt about the Pharisees doing that.
I am a Christian and I have a lot of tattoos. I regret getting them as I now realise what the word says, however this may just be Old Testament rules. (I don't know. I'm not God). Nontheless, a lot of people judge others by a little ink which is rediculous. Pull the log out of your own eye first. I don't believe a little bit of ink is going to keep you from God, but if you feel convicted from it, you probably shouldn't get the tattoo. It can also cause a lot of trouble when you try to get a job. You never know when you might lose the one you have now. If you do get ink, be prepared to be judged. One thing tattoos will do for you- they will open your eyes up to self righteous proud people.......you will be surprised just who these people will turn out to be. My advice.......don't do it
This scripture is so confusing to me .. i recently just found it while going through a friends facebook and was instantly intrigued by what it meant. I myself have tattoos but had no idea that this scripture existed. I have been trying to have a closer relationship with GOD but this has rattled me .. this whole chapter confuses me
My feelings are if you are deaf or blind or handicapped; dim witted, you shalt not take advantage of the before-mentioned parties. God will avenge the persecutors verily.
No one can see God without holiness.. It is absent in many churches as well as repentance. Preachers are afraid to lose people so a different gospel is preached. One that the people want to hear that is safe and will allow many to live in sin and be accepted. Without holiness in the church, those without God will not be convicted of sin but put into a church program.
I will start by saying I have no tattoos, but I'm not sure that it is wrong or that its ok. I do know that the Old Testament has a lot of truth today but not all. God also had them make sacrifices. The Old Testament was during a time when the Jews had to live under the LAW. When Jesus died on the cross it allowed people to be saved by Grace. We as Christians today are not called to live by the law. Not that most of the law can be applied to life today. So take what you want from it, but thats how I look at a lot of Old Testament LAWS.
God made them that way, just as he made you less than perfect. And just as your imperfections should not be abused, neither should you abuse theirs. If indeed imperfections they are, since the last shall be first.
Well, it has changed my mind, because I loved tattoos then but the Lord is against it, so am I, I had this dream last Night and it seems to like the world is coming to an end, things were destroyed and some people or aliens where after me and God's people, and when they were coming to attack me, I woke up from sleep. In the Dream I saw men of God from my country, don't really know if they are false Prophets or not.
The justification people come up with here is glorious. The language is plain. Just because you like a practice the good book forbids doesn't mean you get to ignore it and still call yourself a good Christian and pray and work hard to stop with it.
