I would like complete verification on God's word. I have grown up in a Christian environment. I have heard some religions hold the cow is sacred. Strangely enough have never heard any not eat pork. Holy to eat beef, chicken, turkey, and fish? Unholy to eat pork, crab, shrimp, lobster, and other shell fish as it does not have gone let Laviticus?
  • Unknown
I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.
  • Bruce
He is a Jew, which is One Inwardly; and Circumcision is that of The Heart, in The Spirit, and not in The Letter; Whose Praise is not of men, But of God. Romans 2:29

It’s my belief that all of the KJV Bible is good and should be read in order, in prayer. These commands were given before Jesus came and said, it is not what goes into the mouth that defileth the man, but that which proceeds from...not exact quote but from memory of The Word, carried in my heart. Of course this book is good counsel still today, as it would be unhealthy to eat bats, crows, etc.

Verse 44~Jehovah God commanded the people to be holy because he was holy. This meant that they had to adhere to God's standards.

Carol; I like what you wrote, and think that is a good interpretation. May I add, that the parted hoof represents being in the world but not of the world; and chewing the cud, living according to the Word. If we are walking a separate and sanctified life, but not according to the Scriptures; it is unclean. So too if we feed on the Word but don't live according to it! We have to be complete in God.
  • Carol Dold
I believe the animals with the DIVIDED hoof - parted hoof are symbolic of Christ. Christ is the Word (John 1:1). We are to rightly DIVIDE the WORD as outlined in I Timothy 2:15. Just as a lamb is symbolic of Christ (John 1:29: ....Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world), a calf or ox is symbolic of Christ, a beast of burden that carried weight - Isaiah 53:4 bearing our sins
  • Ugwuishiwu Samson
Dietary instructions of God to the Israelites is just to remind us of our peculiarities to Him as people. Christians should abstain from all practices repugnant to God not necessarily the food or meats we ingest.

V 2 Speak unto the children of Israel. are you of the people of Israel?
  • Giovanni Ortiz
Psalms 89, 34: My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips.
  • Rochana Rolfe
For those who obey the dietary laws. Guess what? You are keeping God's commandments. John 14:15, "If you love Me, keep my commandments." Wasn't God telling Moses and Aaron to tell the children of Israel what foods to eat and not to eat. If God is speaking, then how has these commandments suddenly change in 2017. Isn't God the same yesterday, today, and forever. This is not rocket science, people!
  • Alex
Except the ceremonial laws that were pointing to Jesus (col 2:14-17), counsels on clean/unclean foods in Lev 11 are still binding. God will not alter anything that proceeds out of His lips (Psalms 89:34, Heb 13:8).
  • Motdaugrnds
This chapter is difficult for me to understand. As I read it, I think much of what is sold in the grocery stores and at farmers ' markets is unclean, i.e. rabbit, pig, chicken, shrimp are a few. Amy I wrong about the chicken? Verse 21...Do chickens have feet above their feet?
  • Bertha Marsh for verse 3
I think that the reason that we have so many illnesses is that we do not eat what then LORD say ' that we should.
  • Robert
Interesting about the raven what a special bird?
  • Nathaniel for verse 1
There are things forbiden those that are allow
  • Chanda for verse 9
Everything that is written in it, is right
  • Zar
Most of the foods prohibited under the o.t. are eaten nowadays. The fact that in the n.t., it says whatever declared clean, eat. This He said to Peter. I don 't know kexatly the Book verse
  • Abaeverley Johnson
Leviticus 11 teaches that we should obey God 's laws by not eating and touching unclean animals. If we were obeying all these laws there would not be so much diseases in the world.
  • Ekpen

    23. But any other flying insect that has four legs, is an abomination for you. This is the exact translation from Jewish Old Testament. It does not mention birds, nor KJV refers to birds, but insects. And there are flying insects with more than two feet example big cockroaches
  • Andrew Carnegie
Since when do birds have four feet? 11.23
  • James for verse 33
I 'm not sure I understand what "break it " means.
  • Pastor kola olugbode
Lets seach the scriptures and know the do and don t accordingly for living application We shall not die but live and declare the glory of God Amen
  • Joe
God's word is never wrong. Man interprets it wrong. The KJV is the most accurate Bible. Even then it is best to check the Strong's and companion Bible and Hebrew , Greek original Bible. Fine example is the word fear and Easter.
  • This is very difficult for me.
  • Daniel Campbell
Grace does not give you a license to sin according to 1 John 3:4 Sin is the transgession of Gods Law the blood of Christ forgives you of your past sins Romans 3:24 and allows you yo be reconciled back to God youre saved by grace because you did nothing to earn this however dont take advantage of Gods grace by disobying his law.
  • Daniel Campbell
These laws are very much binding not only for now but also for the Kingdom of God Read Is 66:17 and Is 65:4-5
