Bible Commentary for Leviticus 21:14

Wesley's Notes for Leviticus 21:14

21:12 Out of the sanctuary - To attend the funerals of any person: for upon other occasions he might and did commonly go out. Nor profane the sanctuary - Either by the performance of a civility, or by entering into the sanctuary before the seven days allotted for his cleansing, #Num 19:11|, were expired. The crown of the anointing oil - Or, the crown, the golden plate, which is called the holy crown, #Exo 29:6|, and the anointing oil of his God are upon him. So there is only an ellipsis of the conjunction and, which is frequent. And these two things, being most eminent, are put for the rest, as the sign is put for the thing signified, that is, for he is God's high - priest.

21:13 In her virginity - Or, a virgin, partly because as he was a type of Christ, so his wife was a type of the church, which is compared to a virgin, and partly for greater caution and assurance that his wife was not a defiled or deflowered person. Most of these things are forbidden to all the priests; and here to the high - priest, to shew that he also, and he especially is obliged to the same cautions.

21:15 I the Lord sanctify him - I have separated him from all other men for my immediate service, and therefore will not have that race corrupted.

Did the bible said god will forgive you over and over again, so why was adam not have been forgiven that was his first sin god should of cast the snake out of eden instead, things would of been better, thats why the innocences pay for the guilty and why god allowed someone to commit a sin then punish him or her when could stop it from happening

Genesis 2:16-17 God put Adam in the garden and told him he could of every tree EXCEPT the tree of the knowlege of good and evil. He was warned that if he did he would die. Spiritually. Later Eve was talked into it by the serpents deceit. He tempted her with food. Also she desired to be wise. She ate it & got Adam to eat it too. Then they tried to cover it up. Deceit. God wasn't being mean to them. They willfully trusted a talking, lying, snake! Their spiritual connection died. It took Jesus's death on the cross of Calvary to reconnect spiritual life. We must be born again. Praise the Lord!

5Consider how far you have fallen!Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent,I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.

To those who read thoroughly and understand the scriptures, read the words God himself wanted to explain.

5Look at where you feel like you're back from the start, but have been pushed and sunk further because of the guilt and burden of you not increasing your faith in him.Look back to where you've first found his true meanings that rose you up his faith, and never make the same mistake that led to your fall again. But if you don't come back to the top again, that God had given you that was the same as ever, then you'll never return.
