God truly blesses those who bless God's people! May God bless Israel with witnesses who will boldly proclaim Yeshua as their Messiah and may He prosper the remnant with peace and all supplications.

Verse 2-Jehovah God spoke as if He had already given Jericho into their hands because when God purposes something it is as good as done.

This particular verse means a lot... I seriously like it.

Everything was orchestrated by GOD - including the spies ending up in Rahab's home.

GOD is not predictable. If you were to guess who HE will preserve in the whole of Jericho, would you even remember Rahab?

And, if the family of Rahab had been told that it is the one that has been marked as the black sheep of the family that GOD will use to save them, wouldn't they have laughed the messenger to scorn?

GOD is not predictable. So, learn not to judge anything and anyone before their time.

Verse 3 gives instructions to the Israelites that they may not have understood but when they followed those instructions they were successful. When we follow direction from Jehovah God we will be successful too.

Unity in Spiritual Warfare also Covering Each Other Lord God s Power was in Body of. The Community of Believers Stayed Faithful Eachday, Making the March Their Priority. Jericho being straitly shut up reminds me of Secrete Society’s.
Rehab, within the walls (active sin) Confessed God the Father as Lord over All; Therefore her Household was Saved.
Spiritual Warfare was Continuous before Lord

Rahab did not pray for herself to be saved only, but for her household also, and they were saved. Thank God for His promise in Acts 14:31.

Verse 25-Rahab and her family were able to survive because she had faith in Jehovah God and she backed up her faith by works. Our conduct can have a powerful effect on our family members. If they don’t see that we practice what we preach this could effect them negatively and could end up costing them their lives.

    Charles,
My thoughts of chapter 6 is the first lesson of the importance of corporate prayer. God instructed that everyone participate, the priest to blow the ram's horns ,armed men and the tribes themselves to shout simultaneously. This signifying one accord, all having faith in God for the same result. Which applies to the church to pray in agreement for God's deliverance of strong holds

Verse 20: This was a divine act from God. Jehovah God simply made all the walls fall flat. There is no obstacle to great for Jehovah God.

The fall of Jericho is one of the numerous victories of the Israelites whose story is well known. God won the battle for them and Joshua's name was elevated. May the walls of Jericho in our lives tumble down as God gives us victory over sin and other impediments to progress and well being.
  • Irene123 on Joshua 6 - 7 years ago
    V. 1 is hilarious: even before the Israelites got to Jericho it was 'shut up'; God had 'em defeated before the 'battle' had even begun.
  • Irene123 on Joshua 6 - 7 years ago
To LU2677 - quote: :A N.T. type of sin: unquote, is what the whole O.T. is about, along with Rahab being 'saved' from Jericho is a N.T. type of salvation from the O.T.; the O.T. was a 'shadow' of Jesus' new covenant. Everything in the O.T. pointed to the N.T.
  • Evangelist Joseph Adeoye on Joshua 6 - 7 years ago
In my own opinion Joshua 6 and the wall of Jericho can be taken to be a person that knows Jesus is truly the son of God and the saviour but he refuses to allow Jesus Christ to take control and take dominion until he was one day meet up with the fire of holy spirit and the harden wall in the person, is brought down flat angels in heaven are happy.

Hi Irene, what is a "New Testament type of sin?" Thanks

Joshua work ethic and principles were exceptional. He was disciplined, precise, orderly, organized, thorough, time conscious, firm, honest, truthful and non-partisan. I pray for more of that grace in my life and that of those I am responsible for.

Thank God for Joshua! If not for him,we won 't know that such miracle power exist. We need a man like Joshua in this end time to destroy the power of Boko haram facing us in Nigeria.
  • Bernard Odwori Ongoro on Joshua 6 - 9 years ago
Regarding Joshua chapter 6, we have to pray to God and forget about our bad deeds, Because Rahab the harlot saved the servant of God, so God rewarded her by saving their entire family in her house, God can use one person to save the entire nation, Amen.
  • Dorothy J Pierce on Joshua 6:7 - 9 years ago
I love it, I learned much, thank you Jesus.
  • Seth Chiware on Joshua 6 - 9 years ago
Despite the seemingly foolishness of Gods instructions , man has to listen and do axactly what comes out of the mouth of God. Thats how victory comes.
  • Eweoya Olugbenga on Joshua 6 - 9 years ago
Only Rahab an harlot was saved in the Jericho, where are the Christians or Church goer or so called believers in the town? This calls for deeper reflection.Because of Rahab all her family was saved, back to us can our family be saved or destroyed because of us or our actions?
  • Marie on Joshua 6 - 9 years ago
The bible says God does the foolish things to confound the wise. He is a God of Wisdom. I like this scripture as well and believing God to pull down the strongholds in my life and I agree with everyone who posted except the atheist I pray that God speaks to your heart for he loves you I do to.
