The bible is meant to be read by going to where you

are lead .. a scripture came to me when i was a new christian... in church.. then it just spoke to me as if it was in charge not necessarily the one at the pulpit.

    Greetings, Tiffany.

The Bible IS meant to be read, studied, meditated on, discussed, acted on and obeyed. And probably many other action verbs.

It is The Word of God. Jesus said, "If ye love me, keep my commandments."Joh 14:15. How can you know what His commandments are unless you read the whole thing?

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul:

the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart:

the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever:

the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold:

sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Moreover by them is thy servant warned:

and in keeping of them there is great reward.

    Who can understand his errors?

cleanse thou me from secret faults.

    Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins;

let them not have dominion over me:

then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

    Psalms 19:7-14

If you got a love letter from your fianc, would you just open it up and randomly read a sentence and then put it away until you wanted another shot of love? No! I can tell that you're excited about becoming Mrs. Basile Johns III, and have devoured every bit of knowledge about what he likes and doesn't like and dozens, neigh scores if not hundreds of things about him that enchant you.

What of The Love Letter, so to speak, from God, that tells of His love for us and the extent to which He has and is going and what He is preparing for us and how He wants you and me to be ambassadors for Him. Can you imagine that?!

Read it every day not just going to where you are lead, using it like a ouija board.

by laying on the hands i was told BIG angel is standing with you! why would i be afraid? i ran out of the alter call to my pastor and i was afraid, my pastor at that time said to me, " wow! i like to have that spoken over me! I search God for the call on my life back in 2002. i am a messenger of God. i have seen the prophecy i done heard from the Spirit of God to go do this, say this, which i did, and yes it came to pass. i walked very close back then. i was wounded in church and i left the church but the holy spirit still gives me directions and knowledge today. what is it that got me now feeling stuck in a situation to do His will. i'm afraid that i've failed my call on my life. i was also told that the anointing on my life is very powerful but yet i'm afraid. how will you know if God has turned away from me?

FRIENDSHIP WITH THE WORLD AND EVANGELIZATION

The Word of God is God (John 1:1) and not for any private interpretation (2 Peter 1:20). If it records in Revelation 12:9 that this whole world has been deceived, it did not speak of a particular country, group of people, person or religion, it meant the whole world.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4).

The believers are not of this world. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith (1 John 5:4).

    Additional readings as confirmation.

    John 7:7; 8:23; 15:19; 17:9,14,16; 18:36.

    Romans 12:2.

    1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:19. 2 Corinthians 6:17.

    Galatians 1:4.

    Ephesians 2:2.

    1 John 2:15; 4:5; 5:4.

The Word of God is God (John 1:1) and the scriptural references we use serve as confirmation that it is not us that speak, but the Spirit of our Father that speaketh in us (2 Samuel 23:2; Matthew 10:20; Acts 4:8; 6:10).

The believers and followers of the true Christ do not involve themselves in the affairs of this world.

    God cannot be received by this present world and so-called world evangelization (global unity) is a deception at the highest level and the workings of the spirit of this world (John 1:5,10; 8:23; 14:17,22; 15:19,20; 17:9,14,16,25; 18:36; Romans 8:7; 1Cor. 1:20; 2:4-8, 12-14; 1 Thessalonians 3:3; 2 Tim. 3:12; James 4:4; 1 John 2:15; 3:1; 5:4,19; 2 John 7).

It should be noted that in over 36 years of service we have never collected/received, solicited or requested donations. The gift of 'Life' was freely given and freely do we give to all those that believe (2 Kings 5:16; Matthew 6:26; 10:8).

Seek, and ye shall find ( Matthew 7:7).

    In His Service.

Christ came to save the world from sin and death. In a the world you so heartily proclaim, is it not noteworthy to proclaim the salvation that is in the body of Christ. The signs of the times, you need not declare, all you have to do is look into the children's eyes. When a Christ centered lover of the gospel comes around Satan and all his angels flee! Reconciliation may be possible only if we live in the hope of his salvation. We do not know, nor the angels ,when the day shall be. Seems , the biggest problem I see, is that the church does not tell the whole story. It is like , they want you to keep coming back for more! Buy more books , make one think his works are more important then Jesus words!

Is it considered bad to show someone this as your favorite bible verse?
  • Chris - in Reply on John 6:66
Is that your favourite verse? I wouldn't consider it wrong to show someone John 6:66 but if that person should enquire about it's significance, maybe you could point him to Revelation chapter 13 & alert him to the coming time when the Anti-Christ will demand worship of him & all who do so are rejecting God & will suffer the Wrath of God (Revelation 14:9-11). It could be a good lead in for presenting the Gospel.

  • Abraham39s Two Sons - in Reply on John 6:53
The Torah and the Bible have recorded Gods dealings with Abraham, Sarah; Hagar; Ishmael and Isaac.

In the King James Version of the Bible: chapters 16-21 are recorded the covenants and the blessings on Abraham's seed: Isaac and Ishmael.

    Ishmael: see Genesis 17:18-26, 17:24-26

    Genesis 16:11-16, Genesis 21:12-18

The Covenant of the Land of Canaan (Israel)

    Genesis 17:7-8

God never meant for history to have experienced all the wars fought in the Middle East. He made Covenants with both of Abraham's sons. Through Ishmael was gained wealth, lands, commerce with powerful princes and kings descended through Abraham.

God had already decided to bless the son born between Abraham and Sarah, even before Ishmael was born. In Gods permissive will, He allowed it; and later gave a covenant inheritance to Ishmael.

Gods Perfect Will was continued through Isaac and his descendants.

He's God. We don't get to tell Him how to bless his people. The Bible says of God: I change NOT.

God chose every human being that was directly involved in producing THE MESSIAH, that would save all mankind that would receive Him.

This is all going to bring everyone on earth, to the Book of Revelation. I know, not everyone accepts it, but it's still there like a gigantic signpost at the end of this road we're all on. It's not going away. Even if we burn all the books and launch all the nukes; it will still be there. That is not me talking; it is the words of the Bible; carried and protected, throughout history. Also known as the Dead Sea scrolls.

Jesus was, and is the Messiah. He wants all sons and daughters of Abraham's seed to trust their mortal and eternal lives with the promised Messiah. All must have their names recorded in his Book of Life. (Read Revelation)

For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish but have everlasting life. For God sent not his son into the world to condemn the world ,but that the world through him might be saved.

So, if you are not Catholic, you are not fulfilling this command of Jesus.
  • Adam - in Reply on John 6:53
    Hi Mike,

I'd like to hear your thoughts on why you think only a Catholic can follow Jesus's instruction?
  • Mike - in Reply on John 6:53
Protestants do not believe in the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. but this gift from Jesus has been perpetuated thru the Mass from the very beginning of the Church when Jesus instituted it at the last supper. "This is my Body" "This is my blood" no room for wiggle nor symbolism. Up unto the protestant revolution, there was only the Catholic/Christian Church and Christians believed that Jesus was substantially in the bread and wine after the consecration. Even Paul chastised people for eating and drinking the Lord unworthily and will be held guilty of profaning the body and blood of Jesus. He wouldn't say that if it was just symbolic. Check out "Eucharistic Miracles" via Google. What more intimate union could Jesus leave us than to leave His flesh and blood to nourish ourselves with for the journey home? He is God's "manna". In a backhanded compliment, why do you think satanists in their black Mass use a consecrated Catholic Host to perform their blasphemies. Why do you think it was mandatory that the Jews eat the lamb to complete the Pascal/Passover meal. It was a premonition of what Jesus was going to do at the Last Supper.

Soon, very soon, Jesus is going to have a "one on one" with everyone in the world about the state of their soul as He sees it (See the book "The Warning" by former atheist Christine Watkins). He will also make everyone aware that He is God and that the Catholic Church is the church that He founded and wants people to belong to because it is the surest route to Heaven via His grace giving sacraments.

So, yes, if you are not Catholic, you are not "technically" fulfilling this command of Jesus. So, come aboard. We have plenty of room for sinners wanting to become saints.

I hope when that one on one with Jesus comes that I am ready in his eyes! I am a firm believer in God and Jesus and everything the Bible says they did and everything they said to everyone. Thank you Jesus for all you have done for us and thank you God for creating this world we live in and there is not one word about you or the Bible I do not believe unless it comes from somewhere else other than the Bible! Love you and believe in you until the day Jesus comes, Amen

    Right on Norman! God wins!
  • Adam - in Reply on John 6:53
    Hi Mike,

I'd like to share an alternate viewpoint if you are open to it.

Do you believe that Jesus often spoke parables? These stories and metaphors were a means for teaching and he explained why he used them: Luke 8:10

So, when Jesus said to eat his flesh and blood in John 6:53 did he literally mean to kill him and resort to cannibalism? I believe not, based on all his previous metaphors. Even his followers knew it was symbolic, but didn't quite understand the symbolism yet.

Jesus also said a few verses earlier in John 6:35 that he's the bread of life. Does that mean he's literally a loaf of bread walking and talking? It was a metaphor.

Jesus also explained the purpose of communion in Luke 22:19. Do it in remembrance of Him. If the goal was to literally eat and drink Jesus then you would think he would not have said this. It suggests the whole purpose of communion is to remember Jesus and His sacrifice for our sins and not that we're supposed to literally eat and drink him as food.

Also Jesus says John 14:6, John 10:9, Acts 4:12 that he's the only way for salvation. Not a man. So, I feel if a religion uses another man, like a Pope, in-between you and Jesus that you must go through then it is a false teaching inconsistent with scripture.

    God bless!
  • Mike - in Reply on John 6:53
(continued with Adam as I ran out of counter)

Have you not asked other people to pray for you or for some special intention that you have? I'm guessing you have. Why do you do that? Are you not putting a man/woman in-between you and Jesus? Jesus established a new priesthood in the apostles and put Peter as head of His Church on earth (Matthew 16:18+).

The Acts of the Apostles shows in numerous places about priestly succession as well as succession of Peter after he died. Jesus knew his apostles were going to die and designed His Church to continue till the end of time with a priesthood to administer His Sacraments which meant someone else would need to replace Peter as head of the Church and receive the power of the "keys". If you don't like the way Jesus set up His Church government, talk to Him. Technically, the Pope has only invoked the power of Infallibility less than a handful of times and usually not without consulting his advisors. The Lord's Peace brother.
