Isn't this verse a fabrication ... not found in most other bibles?
  • Steve Lynch on John 3:5 - 3 years ago
Born again in the greek means born from above. and the water is the bag of water in the mother's womb. that's why the word said that the lord knew you before you were in your mother's womb. and the batism represents the reserection of christ. you are born into the flesh and you go under the water to represent the burial of christ. then when you are brought back up it represents the resurection of christ. your spirit and soul enter into the flesh at conception. so that's where the born again comes from. and yes we should be baptized as christ was.
  • Shaarei on John 3:5 - 3 years ago
Born AGAIN does not refer to the first birth or our Lord would not have said AGAIN. Born of Water in baptism in water or Paul would not have said repent and be BAPTISED for the remission of your sins and Ye shall receive the Holy Spirit. Blasphemy of our Lords Spirit is the only unforgivable Sin. If we don't walk in Our Lords Spirit to Follow in our Lords WAY...We will be told depart from me Ye workers of iniquity, I never knew you... No man enters our Lirds Kingdom without Our Lords Spirit Leading them there. All Glory to the King of All days. The Sovereign Lord of All things, the Redeemer of All mankind. There is nothing too hard for our God

Jo jo, if you are referring to John 3:21, then we see Jesus talking about light, that He had come as the Light of the World (v 19). However, since evil people rather prefer the darkness or else their evil deeds will be revealed by the light, Jesus uses this metaphor to show that those who are righteous (i.e. come to the Light), do so, so that their good lives will be manifest. And this good lifestyle will be seen as not of man but of God. So the word 'wrought' is this Scripture, means that ones good living & works are performed through God & for God, unlike those doing evil, who do it through the promptings & power of Satan.

What does the word wrought mean in Luke 3 verse 21?
  • Omega on John 3 - 3 years ago
Faith without work is dead, if we only read, but not put it at work, we are only deciving ourself.

it is foolishness if someone cry for hungry, you give him good word, it is well, god bless you, and then send him home without food.

our god work deep in our heart.

god say, now let us make man in our image, after our likeness,

he know us more than do know ourself.

fear god. do what the bible say, remeber, he will come like a thif a t night

  • Susan Browning - In Reply on John 3:5 - 3 years ago
One does not have to be baptized with water to enter the Kingdom of God. Salvation is a free gift from God, no strings attached. Born of water is amniotic fluid. All earthly life begins in water. God's Word refers to both the physical and the spiritual throughout beginning with Genesis 2:7. What if you died prior to your day of baptism. And, Christians no longer wait 40 days to receive The Holy Ghost. When one accepts Christ, right then and right there, the Holy Ghost begins to dwell within you.
  • Susan Browning - In Reply on John 3:5 - 3 years ago
All physical life begins in water. It has nothing to do with God's Word nor Baptism. Think of all the denominations that sprinkle versus fully immerse. Everlasting Life comes to us by way of being born again in Spirit.

    James Chapter 1

1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.

    2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering.

1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself

Thank you for your reply Fred. I appreciate your comment. I want truth and I seek truth with all of my heart. I have left the prosperity gospel message after 20 years and I am hungry for His living Word. I want out of my belly to flow rivers of living water.

Gods word must have free course in its entire meaning. Christ chose simple working righteous men, who new the prophecy of the coming savior. Jesus chose people with a pure heart.Like today,we Christians too, look for his returning. These apostles and disciples, were I witness to His majesty while He was here on the earth. These men,who were chosen of God, were moved by the Holy Spirit to write what you see in this KJV. When you read these words you are reading the words of men (moved) by Spirit of God. New interpretations create space we don't need! There is only ONE Holy Spirit! Remember, the Spirit must have free course with each believer. This is how we are set free from sin and hell.

    Dear Lisa,

The KJV hasn't changed. The word 'should' has remained more than 400 years since it's first printing. Here's proof: Link It's possible you didn't have a real KJV back when you memorized this verse. Well-meaning people including pastors may easily misquote verses like this thinking they are quoting verbatim, then assuming it is KJV. NASB uses the word 'shall', for example.

When I was young, John 3:16 read: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him Shall not perish, but have everlasting life.
Now it reads that whosoever believeth in Him Should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The NIV version reads Shall not Perish. Should Not and Shall not have two different meanings. Has anyone else noticed this?

I should have said not into the heaven where God sits, the son is the only one who has ascended to the Father, there are three levels, an since both have not died yet as I made my statement in the comment section, they may be the 2 that come back to lead the way of the Lord which isn't to far off. Peace to you God Bless

That is a good theroy. It doesnt matter how we interpret these end prophesy because He will not forsake His children. So we are good either way this plays out.
  • Michael - In Reply on John 3 - 4 years ago
It says no man ascended. I can goto walmart however i can not ascend to walmart. I do not have divine power. Man went to the moon. On a space ship. They didnt ascend to the moon.
  • Vanessa on John 3 - 4 years ago
no man has seen the Father except the Lord, His beloved Son, still till this day, we learn in the beginning God created Heavens and earth, one is where the moon, sun and stars are, one in the high heaven as David spoke of, and the Jesus on the cross to the robber, today you'll be in paradise the third heaven, I do not believe from all my reading and studying Elijah or Enoch being called up where not in paradise they've haven't died yet, maybe they'll be the two prophets that will lead the way for the coming of the Lord
  • Vanessa - In Reply on John 3 - 4 years ago
John 3:13 if you read that no man has gone up into heaven, they both are went up but not into heaven, they are in the arch of the clouds, still till this day, it's a get study search hebrew as well
  • Gail on John 3 - 4 years ago
God sent John to us to help assist us in saving souls and bringing others to Christ I try to minister to my children to bring them to Christ that their souls may be saved. I do not want to leave my children to the everlasting lake of fire I want them to spend eternity with me in heaven with the lord Jesus Christ.
  • Michael on John 3 - 4 years ago
3:13 Elijah and Enoch went to heaven without experiencing death, by God's power not their own, no man can ascend to heaven, they can be taken. I had trouble with this for some time, as nonbelievers said this was a contraction. Always pray for understanding when reading scripture. Enoch was with God and was gone, Elijah went out on a chariot of fire, both taken by God, not ascended by means or powers of man. Jesus, however, ascended under His own divine power.

John 3:3 is so true! I have been in my church now for 45 years. July 16th, 2003 at 5:30 pm in summit, ms I was looking up to see the bottom in life. King Jesus was knocking on the door of my heart and I let him in and My heart and soul completely changed. I got born again by his precious spotless blood. Now I have peace that passes all understanding. He saved a wretch like me!!! The King James Bible is priceless!!!
