  • Timing is Everything - In Reply on John 2:4 - 3 years ago
This instance was Jesus's first miracle performed. He wasn't rebuking Mary. He was reminding that the appointed time to begin doing miracles had not yet arrived.

They both knew he could; the time to begin had not bean given by The Father yet.

In my experience; don't run ahead of the Lord. I did, Once. I was promptly corrected. (The Holy Spirit was speaking to my spirit)..."are you ready to do it My Way?"

    (Concerning street evangelism.)

He didn't reprove me. Just asked a question. I learned to LOVE hearing that Shepherd's voice that day!!!

    Mishael

    There was a widower woman

Whom was poor but she gave into the lord one pence. Today if everyone paid their tides we need welfare or big government. Instead the community who take care of their Sisters and Brother's.

Hades. A place where we wait for judgement. Not hell or else Abraham would not be there.

Abraham was counted righteous when he gave up counting the stars and just believed God. " It was counted to him for righteousness, just as our obedience to God is counted for righteousness when we give up our own works.
  • Shelley - In Reply on John 2 - 3 years ago
The "righteous man" in James 5:16 has to be Christ. You can look at it two ways: Because we are in Christ, if we pray fervently it will accomplish what we pray for because it will be God's will; or, Jesus, the only righteous man to live, prayed for us in John 17, therefore his prayer will accomplish much.

  • Stephen - In Reply on John 2 - 3 years ago
In response: Alex on John 2:

"There is none righteous, no, not one."

Then how can "The effectual fervent prayer of a 'righteous' man availeth much?"

And why was Abraham considered a "righteous" man?

Just to add a little to discussion:

Personal experience it is like to many new believers it's learning everything again but better.

I thought just the other day about this issue.

Like learning to talk, eat, walk & act all over again, in the Spirit

Like not going places that cause sin before, not saying hurtful or offensive words etc.

    Mathew 25:31-46, Mathew 7:15-24, Philippians 2:4-15, Jude 1:21-25

Being born again means being born of the spirit. That which is born of flesh is flesh. Got to be born of the spirit to be saved.
  • Stanjett - In Reply on John 2 - 3 years ago
Jesus rose on the third day. He died on a Friday. ( what we call good Friday .) He rose on a Sunday on the third day. Now Friday and Sunday were not full days but Saturday was. Still 3 days. Not 24 hour days except for Saturday. This is why most christians worship on a Sunday.

Luke 16 on Lazarus the beggar: told by Jesus himself.

22a And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by angels into Abraham's bosom....

24b ...for I am tormented in this flame.

25b ...but now he is comforted, and thou are tormented.

26 And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

So father Abraham in the verses told by Jesus, while being the bosom that comforted and the same bosom separated by a gulf from torment is the one speaking. Where is he speaking from? Where is the rich man speaking from?

By nature every person is born in sin through the sinful seed of their natural fathers and conditioned therein ( 1 Peter 1:23). For that reason and in order to become a son of God, which are born of God, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God, a person must be 'Born Again' ( John 1:12,13; 3:3-7; 1 John 3:9; 5:4).

By attending a man-made institution a few hours a week ( Acts 7:48; 17:24), does not mean that a person can make a claim that they are followers of Christ and 'Born Again'. That is falsehood, as in truth they follow after an image of a false god and a false Christ ( Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Gal. 4:8; Rev. 12:9). This is how Satan has transformed Himself into an angel of light ( 2 Cor. 11:13-15).

Only through 'True Repentance' will God be able to reveal Himself, and adopt you as His sons and daughters ( Rom. 8:15,23; 2 Cor.6:18; Gal. 4:5; Eph. 1:5; Hebr. 12:5; 1 John 3:1).

The word 'Repent' means a lot more than what people by nature have been conditioned to believe. It is the key principle of all the teachings of Jesus Christ and the axiom (basis) of the Word of God and a prerequisite and primary requirement for the salvation of mankind. It actually means the changing of spirits - to turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God ( Acts 26:18).

For a better understanding and the 'spiritual truth' of what it means to repent, and learn how and by whom mankind has been deceived ( Rev. 12:9), and what people must do to be reunited with the true and living God, we invite you to seek Him according to the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive ( John 14:17).

You need not that any man teach you ( Isaiah 54:13; 6:45; 1 John 2:27), It is only by revelation of God that you will come to know Christ ( Daniel 12:4,9; Amos 3:7; Matthew 16:17; Luke 2:26; Romans 16:25; 1 Cor. 2:10; Gal. 1:16; Eph. 3:3,5; Rev. 1:1). It is a narrow way that leadeth unto 'Life', and few there be that find it ( Matthew 7:14).

  • John on John 2:10 - 3 years ago
This verse just goes to show you whatever Jesus offers makes what mankind or the world offers pale in comparison. The same goes for life. You can live life and drink wine or you can live securely knowing you have eternal life. Whatever Jesus provides is best so it'd best to follow him to have the true wine.

Comments on what defiles a man. Its our hearts not our skin color,When Jesus was in Jerusalem on the feast days many believed on him when they saw the miracles he did but Jesus wd not commit himself to them simply b/c he knew what was in MAN and needed not that any should testify of MAN,There was none righteous no not one. Out of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of evil. It was soon after this that he tells Nic. a Jew, a teacher of the law he needed to be Bornagain of the Water N Spirit in order to be righteous AND ENTER HEAVEN.But John says when Jesus spoke of water it was Spirit the living WORD etc. This speak he of the Spirit that them that believed on him should receive for the H.G. was not yet given b/c that Christ was not yet glorified. You are made CLEAN by the word i have spoken unto you,the living word which is spirit and life.EVERY sinner will have their part in the lake of fire which is his baptism of fire n the H.G. as our God is a consuming fire. Who shall abide the day of his coming, who shall stand when he appears ( th 2 nd coming ) for he shall be as a refiners fire and fullers soap thus a cleansing fire thats what we all need. That lake of fire in the SPRITUAL REALM th H.G. FIRE JUDGEMENT whom the lord loveth he chaseneth. Its what we need . Thats y jesus said i come to bring fire on the earth ,Its what we need ty Jesus, its simply his baptism of fire with the H.G. the WORD IS THE FIRE . JEREMIAH SAID I WILL MAKE THE WORDS IN YOUR MOUTH AS FIRE AND THIS PPL THE WOOD,MEANING OUR OLD EVIL HEART IS GONA BE CONSUMED BY HIS WORDS.I will give them a new heart and a new spirit which is the new covenant the words of life. Christ in you. Remember the RED heifer she had to be burnt to ashes at the door of the tabernacle, THATS US our old adamic nature is gonna be consumed ,i will not leave them root nor branch. There will be nothin left of our ADAMIC NATURE.Every liar will have their part in the lake of fire, thats all of us.

Jesus knew that mankind needed to be bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the word of God. He knew that man had a demonic nature thats y he rebuked Peter calling him satan,Outa of the hearts of man proceeds all manner of Evil.He didnt want any praise from man's adamic nature th carnal mind is the very enemy of God.We need to birth a lil CHILD which is the H.G. AS THAT WHICH IS BORN OF THE SPIRIT IS SPIRIT A NEW INNERMAN.Outa of th mouths of babes and sucklings thou has PERFECTED PRAISE. Thats our new born babe desiring the sincere milk of the WORD th H.G. which has to be born in us via his seed th WORD thats y we cannot call him good only BY the H.G. can WE Praise him call him good ETC

God created us. He wrote us what we are to do in this world. He put the Bible in front of us to help us in any situation. Any trail we go in is putting us in the fire to toughen us. We either listen to the evilness and make it harder on us, or we turn to Him in prayer to help us through it. Always opposite of the world. No mankind can hurt me...for my God is close by my side.Protecting!
