Part 1 of 2 Hello Mark, No, I don 't think that you are being argumentative. If you reread right below where I gave you the previous answer you will still find the answer you seek. I cannot say it no plainer than this. Jesus declared his divinity when he stated he was the I AM. He declared his divinity when he told Phillip "Have I been so long time with you and yet has thou not known me ". He also declared his divinity when Satan came to tempt him in the wilderness and he stated in Matthew 4 7 Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God ". The conversation was just between Satan and Jesus. Jesus told him, if I can say it like this, You know that it is written you shall not tempt me Satan, I am God. Then in John Chapter 1, you cannot get around the fact that it states "the Word was God " then it states that the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us and we beheld his glory ". The only one that we beheld his glory was Jesus Christ and he is God manifested in the flesh.

Evangelist Chatauna Robinson, I thank you for your input, I know it seems that I am only trying to argue, but really, I am not, I am trying to understand the differences, You seem to give the best understanding of scripture against scripture, It seems to me that there are some scriptures that are contrary to one another and I am trying to figure out what the truth is. For example, we all know that the creation was created by the word of God speaking because in Gen 1 God said and it was so. We all know the authority of God speaking. We all know that God 's word became flesh, We all know that Jesus 's existence is because God spoke and said it would be so, God 's word did become flesh. Jesus himself recognized and knew where he came from, John 5,39 Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me. Jesus knew he was the word of God become flesh. John 8, 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me for I proceeded forth and came from God neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Jesus said he came from God which is the word of God become flesh, Jesus said he did not come of himself John 5,31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true. Jesus never did bear witness of himself as being God, he bore witness to his father as being God and he as the son.

Hello Georgia, Yes you must have the correct Baptism. So please find a church who is truly saved and is baptizing and calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for remission of sins. Because baptism is a part of the salvation plan. You must be in alignment with Acts 2 38 in order to be truly saved. You must have the whole thing not just a part of it.

Part 4 Peter was the key apostle. He denied Christ, you know the story. He did not have the power to stand when adversity came his way. His flesh got in the way and he became weak. It was not until he was filled with the Holy Ghost that he was able to stand boldly on the day of Pentecost and declare who Jesus Christ was. This is why he gave them the answer Acts 2 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord, and Christ . We can talk about the oneness of God all day. However, it is important that you get saved if you are not saved. Stay saved if you are saved. Hope and pray that you make it into Heaven. This is why you must do as Acts 2 38 tell us in order to be saved. Please read over in Acts 2 where I made extensive comments on this subject.

Part 3 In Ephesians 4 5 it reads as this One Lord, one faith, one baptism . On the day of Pentecost Peter declared who Jesus was when he answered their question Acts 2 36. In Matthew 4 7 Jesus acknowledged who he was in the wilderness when Satan came and tempted him. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord they God . One of the reasons why the Jews rejected Christ is that He declared that he was God. This is why the Jews got so angry with Jesus when he made the statement to them that he was the I AM . In John 8 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am . In the Old Testament, Jesus in his spirit for, God, told Moses that His name was I AM Exodus 3 14 And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. When Jesus made the statement that he was the I AM, the Jews got angry because he claimed he was God. He was declaring His divinity right then. He was letting them know who he was. They took up stones to stone him but he hid himself. John 8 59 Then took they up stones to cast at him but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by .

Part 2 In John 14 8 to 10, Jesus acknowledges he is the Father. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you and yet has thou not known me, Philip? He that hath seen me hath seen the Father and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works . The flesh is a house in which the spirit and soul resides. In 11 Corinthians 5 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation .

Hello Mark, I do not know if my responses will be printed because of length, however this is Part 1of 4 You stated that before John 16 29 30 that the disciples did not say that Jesus was God. Part 1 I have to go right back to Chapter 1. I believe that John wrote this book. Verse 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God . Verse 3 All things were made by him and without him was not anything made that was made . In Genesis Chapter 1 1 it states In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth . In John Chapter 1 verse 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not . Who was in the world? Who walked among men? The answer is Jesus Christ. The world was made by him. Who did not know him? The Jews, his own people first then the rest of the world. In Verse 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us .. Who was made flesh? The answer is Jesus Christ. What does it say in verse 1 the Word was God .

Notice that in John chapter 16 verse 29 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Notice in John chapter 16 verse 30 Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee by this we believe that thou camest forth from God. NOTICE THAT THE DISCIPLES ACKNOWLEDGED THAT JESUS CAME FORTH FROM GOD. THEY DID NOT AT THAT TIME CLAIM THAT HE WAS GOD.

John chapter 1 verse 1 explained in detail, John chapter 16 verse 27, For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. THE WORD CAME OUT FROM GOD, John chapter 16 verse 28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world again, I leave the world, and go to the Father. THE WORD CAME FORTH FROM THE FATHER AND WAS MADE FLESH AND COME TO THIS WORLD TO BE OUR SAVIOUR. JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD MADE FLESH.

John 8, 42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me for I proceeded forth and came from God THAT MAKES IT CLEAR THAT GOD 'S WORD BECAME FLESH AND CAME FROM GOD neither came I of myself, THAT MAKES IT CLEAR THAT JESUS DID NOT SEND HIMSELF but he GOD sent me. JESUS HIMSELF MADE A CLEAR DISTINCTION BETWEEN THE FATHER AND HIMSELF . THE FATHER DID NOT SEND HIMSELF HE SENT JESUS TO BE SALVATION THROUGH THE CROSS . The word came out from GOD john 16, 27 , The word came forth from the FATHER john 16, 28 And the word was made flesh and come into the world john 1, 14 ,

Clarification John the Apostle wrote this book. However, he quotes what John the Baptist said.
  • Evangelist Chatauna Robinson on John 1 - 9 years ago
Hello Mark, If you read verses 6 thru 31 you will see it is John the Baptist that is speaking that is acknowledging the fact that he came to bare witness of that light which is Jesus Christ. If you read verse 16 you will see that it is John the Baptist the scriptures is referring to in reference to verse 31. John was not worthy of unlatching Jesus shoes. John the Baptist, once again came to bear witness of that Light, who is Jesus Christ.

Hello Cecil, verse one is letting you know that the Word is God manifested in the flesh. Verse 3 states that all things were made by him. Verse 10 states that he was in the world and the world was made by him. Who made the world? Genesis 1 1 "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth ". Verse 14 is what ties it all together "The Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.... " Who was made flesh? Jesus Christ was made flesh and dwelt among us. So when the scripture in verse one states and the Word was God, verse 14 is letting you know who the Word was. See no man could look upon God and live therefore he clothe himself in flesh and dwelt among us. Read many answers I gave in Acts 2 concerning the oneness of God.

Jesus is not God. All power is given unto him by his father as in Matthew 28,18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. He received power only because it was given to him by his father. He did not already posses all power it was given to him.
  • Mark on John 1 - 9 years ago
John 1,1 I think Jesus existed in word only in the beginning and became flesh when born of Mary. The word became flesh. Not God became flesh. Jesus himself explains in John 5,39 Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life and they are they which testify of me. The word became flesh. Not God became flesh. nowhere in the bible does it say that God himself became flesh. It says the word became flesh. God with us, refers to Jesus himself testifying of his father for Jesus himself came not bearing witness of himself as in John 5,31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.

This is the fact, that the word was with God and the word was God. Everything was made by him,and without him nothing made, that was made. here is another symbol of God in Christ everything was made by him, without him no anything made that was made that made it declares that Jesus is God John 14 6 7 and Phillip asked him Lord show us the father, and Jesus replied him Phillip how long were you with me,dont you know that who so ever saw me saw the father, for me and the father are one,the father is in me,and I am in the father Prophet Esaia 9 6 said the child is born, and he shall be called everlasting father, mighty God and prince of peace wonderful counselor Philippians 2 6 it said though Jesus is God,he didnt take himself as God instead he humbled himself and appear in the form of a human and when it continues it says that every knee shall bow before him, every tongue confess that he is Lord HALLELUJAH JESUS IS GOD!!!!!!

John 1 verse 18 No man hath seen God at any time the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him. There is God the father and his name is JEHOVAH. Exodus 6 verse 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. Psalms 83 verse 18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth. There is JEHOVAH 's son and his name is JESUS. Matthew 1 verse 21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS for he shall save his people from their sins. According to Exodus 33 verse 20 God considers himself to have a face,20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face for there shall no man see me, and live. According to Exodus 33 verse 22 God considers himself to have a hand, 22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by According to Exodus 33 verse 23, God considers himself to have back parts, 23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts but my face shall not be seen. The original greek manuscripts also use a lower case "g " when referring to the Word "being God ", this infers that there is a difference in the relationship between the Word and God, plus when read in context it says the Word was WITH God if they are one and the same such wording is not needed. God is Jesus ' father, Jesus is still however the means that his father will use to save us.
