A disciple, To enter heaven by your own work is not of grace.Jesus did not simply make a down payment and you installments. You err in soteriology. You work, and so God owes you,or so you believe. Sadly I think of you and the multitudes working their way to heaven, misguided in pride. This format is not for personal discussion, henceforth,I will no longer respond to your messages.
  • Preacher Charlie Chandler on John 1 - 6 years ago
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 1 John 5:7.

And His name is called the Word of GOD Revelation 19:13.
  • Apo6 on John 1 - 6 years ago
The Word IS Christ. Someone commented that because those scriptures said the word WAS God that the word was separate from God; The Word 'WAS' was used only because that chapter was written about PAST events, it is therefore Past Tense. It has nothing to do with the Word being Separated from God.

Insight777 before Christ they sacrificed lambs for their sins in moses time, Christ soul purpose was to come and die on the cross for our sins, they no longer needed a lamb he was the lamb, he was the only born of flesh unlike us from dust, he is the spirit, the dove of peace, he is the light, not of dark and those that follow him and believe in him, shall live in light forever thank you Jesus
  • Ray321 on John 1 - 6 years ago
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. THE WORD IS GOD. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. The Word is ALIVE. think GOD
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 1 - 6 years ago
God and his word is ALWAYS two separate things. Numbers 11:23] And the LORD said unto Moses, Is the LORD's hand waxed short? thou shalt see now whether my word shall come to pass unto thee or not. Psalm 107:20] He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Proverbs 2:[1] My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee;"
  • Evangelist Andrew Kelly on John 1 - 6 years ago
John 1:1 is where preachers and congregations get bewitched and stumble over. John 1:1-2 is telling us "The Word was God's Word" and NOT God was the word. The word ((was)) is past tense and ((and)) a conjunction joining three separate thoughts into a sentence. God and his word are two separate things always. God made the world by speaking words and NOT with two hands like you and I have.

I just want to walk in your light, Heavenly Father, and to help my family. I want to devote myself to you, and to do what is right. Thank you for all your blessings, in Jesus' mighty name, Amen.

Insight777; Its very dangerous to be saying, "thus saith the LORD," when God has not said anything to you! There are a lot of things you are getting seriously wrong. Jesus is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world; and teaching IS NOT shedding of the blood! All your analogies are nothing according to the truth of the Scriptures, but fake spiritualism! and out of your own head!
  • Insight777 on John 1 - 6 years ago
Jesus never called himself the Lamb. Jesus never said I am going to die for your sins.
Jesus did say he is the shepherd. Jesus said feed my lambs. Jesus was Holy from birth but the Spirit he received upon baptism is the knowledge of the new religion he was to establish.Jesus had full knowledge of the Jewish religion but not the direction from God to separate completely from it for human salvation.
  • Lu2677 on John 1 - 6 years ago
Insight7John 11-14 is talking about Christ. He most certainly was born with the Holy Spirit from the womb. You say he was not. John witnessed of the Light=Jesus. John saw the Holy Spirit descending on Christ so John would know when people believed on Christ they would receive the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the Holy Spirit, he is God he came to earth in the flesh. Can he be separated from himself? No.
  • Sheri Stump on John 1 - 6 years ago
God tells us in Gen 1 that He and the word are one. Is the word Jesus? Yes in John 1:14 says the Word became flesh and dwelt among us.

  • Jesse Bryant on John 1 - 6 years ago
John 1:18 dispels the idea of Jesus as "the angel of the Lord". This chapter makes it abundantly clear that Jesus and the Father are one and the same God (though distinct in person). The angel of the Lord is just that, the angel, not the Lord.
  • Peter A. Okebukola on John 1 - 6 years ago
The Trinity is revealed in this Chapter. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit have been one since the beginning of time. The Word- Jesus Christ, came down to the world to take away our sins. John had the singular privilege of being a forerunner and baptising Jesus with water who will in turn, baptise with the Holy Spirit. The Book of John is deep.
  • Bruce on John 1 - 6 years ago
--- Ye were not redeemed with corruptible things as silver and gold --- but with the Precious Blood of Christ as of a Lamb without blemish and without spot. 1Peter 1:18-19 /--- He was led as a Sheep to the slaughter and like a Lamb dumb before His shearer--- Acts 8:32. / Thank you for being on here,it helps us believers to be stronger and more in His Word. Whosoever: Revelation 20:15. Forever.
  • Insight777 on John 1 - 6 years ago
Jesus is the shepherd not the lamb. John said behold the Lamb of God. The Lamb of God is the church that takes away the sins of the world by teaching=shedding the blood of Christ which is the new testament taught to them by Jesus. Water baptism is taught for the remission of sin and the voice of God approves. John was telling Jesus, here is your lamb=church that you come to lead to God and save.
  • Lu2677 on John 1 - 6 years ago
John 1:5"And the light shineth in darkness, and darkness comprehended it not." The context of the verse is Jesus is the light in a dark world. And the wicked of his day did not comprehend who he was. Jesus is the Word; Those that walk in darkness cannot comprehend the Word of God; Scripture. They add to it, take away from it, reject it, hate it, they turn the word of God into lewdness,
  • Peter on John 1 - 6 years ago
John 1 is a very important charter where we can see Jesus as God and God in Jesus wherein the Trinity is explicitly defined and explained. John the baptist also gives it clearly. What more can one not believe this witness and testimony. Truly Jesus is God and John the Apostle gives an eye witness of everything as he saw, knew and testify so that we can believe in Jesus Christ the Lord. amen.

LU2677 - Thank-you for your concern but - I didn't have you in mind when I posted anything about the Godhead. I had people in mind who might be hungry for truth OR - want to see some truth on here that are of the same mind as me. I don't care who comments on my postings, I know the truth of God's word, and have for nearly 50 yrs.; not quite 50, but close. Matt.28:19; Acts2:38; 4:10

Irene, I see from your post 3mo. ago and your post where you say God was alone when he said"Let us make man in our image" that you have no understanding of John 1:1. Do you not know that The Word and Jesus is one in the same?
  • A disciple on John 1 - 7 years ago
"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." What the coming of Jesus means to me, is the comfort of forgiveness and acceptance from God, and that He wishes for me to become all that He had in mind when He created me.
  • A disciple on John 1 - 7 years ago
"In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not." As says the Proverb about wisdom crying daily to everyone, to consider their ways and come to understanding; the spirit of life that animates us, is an expounder of God's infinite understanding and power: and the Word of God searches our innermost selves to teach us truth.
  • Irene123 on John 1 - 7 years ago
    V. 47 - " ..... in whom I no guile." This statement proves early on that Jesus can see into our hearts. I know personally of no one outside of living for Jesus, that has no guile. But, Jesus wasn't saying Nathaniel was sinless, we all have been born in sin, let alone the sins we have committed. Guile is - lying, craftiness, evil.
  • Lois on John 1 - 7 years ago
No man can conceive this except God,The Great I Am, God, The Creator, God The Father, God The Son, God The Holy Ghost. Glory be To God. I said Was not going to tell it, when I found Jesus. I told everybody when I Found Jesus, He is my only Friend. I am His.

  • Irene123 on John 1 - 7 years ago
    V. 14 - "..... the Word (God) became flesh; 1 Tim.3:16 - "..... God was manifest in the flesh (Jesus). God needed to 'show' Himself to mankind, but God is a spirit - so can't be seen by physical eyes. Jesus was only in the mind of God from even before the foundation (creation) of the world. God is - omniscient - ALL KNOWING; He had this whole plan, world, humans, salvation before time.
