  • Grant for verse 1
Trinitarian Alert If your God is Jesus, and he died for us, who raised him from the state where he could do nothing? His father raised him. Gal 1 1 Why was Jesus unable to raise himself? He was dead! Eccl 9 5. Trinitairians, your God died! My God has never died.Your God doesnt know when the last hour is. by his own addmission.Mark 13 32 My God knows everything.
  • Grant
Alert to Trinitarians Regarding Jn 1 18, any time means any time.
  • Christian for verse 1
the son declared the father in word physically came out from the father of eternity past and has saved only them that believe thy are one and that the son paid the price of sin the gospel of his grace.
  • Debra for verse 18
John 1 18 tells us that no man has seen God at any time. Had people seen Jesus? Yes, thousands of people have seen Jesus, therefore Jesus can not be Almighty God, who is Jehovah. That does not take away the fact that he is divine. Having the nature of or being a deity. As the son of Almighty God, Jesus was sent forth by God. Jesus demonstrated on a small scale what he will do for all of mankind in the near future on his Father 's behalf.
  • Jeff Bailey for verse 9
The very existence of life itself, physical or spiritual is in Christ. All things were made by him and in Genesis he breathed the very breath of "life " into man. Only man, made in the image of God, is spoken of as having a "living soul ", thus every man has the "light " or existence. This verse only speaks to the living soul not the eternal salvation of one, otherwise it would teach that everyone will be saved, or everyone is called, and none go to Hell. Everyone will not be saved as Revelation teaches us that some are "cast into the lake of fire ".
  • Dr. tony for verse 1
how did "word " get turned into "son "? in other words, how did "word " become another word for "jesus "? point "word " means "law " not "jesus. "
  • Funke Aderinola for verse 12
Jesus has given us the power to become what Heaven has ordained us to be. That means no more limitation. Nothing can limit us as long as we know who we are in Christ. We have being given power. Thank you Jesus.
  • Stanley
ilove the way john answered the question jesus asked and then keep quite.
  • TONY
just starting out reading john outside the post resurection daily gospel readings that had me scratching my head with the love and beauty expressed by this friend of Jesus
  • Rev. Autrey
I am responding to the comments made by Toni on the identity of Jesus on 6 28 14. Yes, Jesus is the Word of God, as quoted in John 1 2. But this does not mean that he is a manifestation of God 's spoken word. If this were so, God would have manifested a rival to himself. To put it plainly, we cannot have two Gods, or three Gods. Such thinking has it 's roots in paganism. And we as Christians whould not allow Satan to tempt us to think this way. Let me say it plainly, God thinks of himself in three distinct ways, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We as humans made in God 's image have a similiar capicity. Our personality is based on how we precieve ourselves in different situations. To our children we are a father, to our wives we are a husband, and to our co workers we are a good friend. But we are still the same person. What I am saying is, to us humans, God is Jesus our Savior. When God makes a decision God is the Father. And when God inspires us to believe God is the Holy Spirit. We know this is so because of what we read about the identity of Jesus in Luke 1, verse 43. "Elizabeth gave a glad cry and exclaimed to Mary. 'You are blessed by God above all other women and your child is blessed. What an honor this is, that the Mother of my Lord should visit me! ' " Elizabeth was speaking of the birth of Jesus as the God her son John would prepare the way for. It plainly says in Isaiah 40 that John would "Make a highway for the Lord through the wilderness and make a smooth road through the desert for his God. " Then in Isaiah 9 Jesus is called the Wonderful Counselor and the Mighty God. How much plainer can I make this. When John 1, verse 2 calls Jesus God, this is who he is. This brings us to the wonderful Gospel. As Jesus, the God who made us has come in human flesh to save us. Please consider this!
  • They that have ears, let them hear Who spoke the Word? God Who did the Word come from? God How is the Word God? The Word is who God is it 's His thoughts. It 's His testimony. It 's His declaration to man everything He has in store, what He has done and will do. It 's His wisdom, His power, His mercy, His grace and truth. The Word is the Spirit of Truth manifested in the flesh. It is God 's ONLY begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Without God 's Word, Jesus, nothing would be in existence. Jesus is not God. He is the Son of the true and living God. We must have God 's Word abiding in our hearts, in order to know how to live, how to walk and that we have the Spirit of Truth and not the Spirit of Error. It is the Holy Ghost that witnesses and testifies of who Jesus is. God Himself testified of His Son, when He spoke out of heaven and declared "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased, hear him. " There are three, the Father, the Word Jesus and the Holy Ghost. Nothing that was made was made without the Word, which became flesh. Jesus is the Word spoken by God. "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. " John 1 17 He is God 's Word that gives light to all who are in darkness. "That which was from the beginning, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have hand of the Word of Life. For the life was manifested and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew you that eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested unto us. " 1John 1 1 2

"In the beginning was the word, and word was with God,and the word was God " I like this verse very well guys on its own.
  • for verse 1
Jesus has a divine nature just like how All of God 's angels have a divine nature. But even then even, imperfect human Judges Rulers were called gods. John 10 34 "Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your Law, 'I have said you are "gods " '? " Exodus 4 16 " He will speak for you to the people, and he will be your spokesman, and you Moses will serve as God to him. " Exodus 7 1 " The LORD then said to Moses See, I have made you like God to Phar 8242 aoh " 1Corinthians 15 40 "And there are heavenly bodies and earthly bodies but the glory of the heavenly bodies is one sort, and that of the earthly bodies is a different sort. " 1Corinthians 15 47 " The first man is from the earth and made of dust the second man is from heaven. "

God word is power and that God spoke faith and that the light cast out darkness. This word was establish with authority since the beginning of time of God greatness and all the Good that I am in him, he is I am and that he created us in his image to walk in the same power with his word. • Bill

  • Dorothy Ogburn
I believe that John was preparing the people of Jesus ' presence here on earth. He also wanted them to know that he was not Jesus but a witness of the true and living God.
I believe John talked from his experience of what kind of person Jesus was. He believed Jesus was the true son of God Whom was with the Father since the beginning because He saw the attributes and righteousness of God during His time on earth. He knew in his heart Jesus was truly the Messiah, the Word from God 's mouth to prophet Isaiah 53 and others about the coming Messiah who would save Israel. He knew this because He had a good relationship and got to live and follow Him, witnessing nothing but righteousness in Jesus ' life. God 's Word from His mouth turned flesh.
  • Bartholomew C.I for verse 5
God is the only true light. He must be preached as the light in the world at large.
  • James Barakaat
John 1 1. In the beginning was the Word Idea , and the Word was with God Law , and the Word was God Manifestation or Form . Consider Idea from the Mind of God, the Law of God, and the Manifestation of God. This is the ancient teaching before the Bible that relates to the principle of creation and it applies to us all. Idea from the Mind of God, operates in the Law of God, to manifest the Form of God. A simple example In an apple seed is God 's Idea of an apple plant the seed and the Law operates on the seed the Manifestation is a tree with plenty of apples with plenty of seeds. When man thinks he uses the same principle as the image of God to create his world of affairs As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he .
  • Jaydamccoy
  • Benoit
Jesus Christ from the beginning was with God.
  • Amir Dewani for verse 5
