The words which I have spoken, they are spirit - Are to be taken in a spiritual sense and, when they are so understood, they are life - That is, a means of spiritual life to the hearers.

People's Bible Notes for John 6:63

Joh 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth. We may paraphrase this verse thus: I shall ascend to heaven so that my body cannot be literally eaten; the flesh literally profits nothing. It is the spirit that makes alive. The spirits of men must feed upon me by faith, that they may be made alive. My words are spirit and life. He who feeds upon them will be made alive.

  • Carla Reddick for verse 63
The flesh, which is the carnal nature, adds no substance to my life. Jesus promises abundant life, which only comes through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which comes when we are santified by the Word of God, which is God breathed.
  • Daily consumption of the word of GOD to stupor, brings a supernatural regeneration from the adamic spirit of sin which profits nothing to that spirit which raised Jesus Christ from the dead which now profits something i.e. "life in abundance " . Glory be to God!!

The Holy Eucharist is the food for our souls which gives it life. Our Lord Jesus explains it like crystal clear water, but sadly so many of us cannot grasp its true meaning. Glory and Praise to Almighty God.....forever. Amen.
