People's Bible Notes for John 15:21

Joh 15:21 For my name's sake. That name, so sweet to the saved, is a hateful thing to his enemies. Jewish persecutors bade Christians to teach no more "in the name" (Ac 4:18 5:40); Gentile rulers bade them blaspheme "the name" or die.

Our creator who is the vine supplies us with all necessary nourishment, nourishments to stay strong, firm and alive. I get grafted to Him and am well and well nourished physically, spiritually and all ramifications.

No, the Lord Jesus was not referring to the fruits but the fruit bearers

    V. 13 - " ... that a man (woman) lay down his life for his friends". To 'lay down' our life is to repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the gift (Free) of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38. This is the only way our life for ourselves can be seen to be dead to our friends. Because the H. G. will effect a VISIBLE change they can see of new life.
