The chapter in context -key: in me(Jesus) - deals with (believers, The Saved) Love, Abide and Fruit Bearing, vs 6. fruit(work) shall burn if we don't abide it becomes wood, hay, and stubble(1 Cor 3:11-15)..Fruit (Gal 5:22-23) Love then encompasses all Joy and Peace in us, (next three) with our brethren, (last three) with God. God's work thru us.. Faith in Jesus Christ and love for the brethren.

"..but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." Do you ever think about why God had His Prophets write the Bible so large? We have to understand that God DOES INDEED intend us to know all things, but He waits for us to be able to bear it. There is no need, and absolutely no allowance for guessing, if we are true and sincere His friends!
