Truly a lamentable chapter. Very much like the book of Lamentations; in fact in many ways. This whole section of scripture shows Job's accusation of God bringing on the misery that He had delegated to Satan to be permitted to test Job. Not forgiving sins is an accusation that may have been the worst thing Job accused God of. It was; indeed the "accuser" Satan himself that was causing ALL this misery; from the bodily pains to the terrifying dreams. Thankfully; the transgression of verse 21 was finally taken care of at the cross. Before that time; we have righteous men such as Lazarus in paradise. After then; praise God! when absent with the Body we are present with the Lord. ( 2 Cor. 5:6). Verse 12 is surely interesting as well; reminding us of Jonah in the whale probably feeling much the same way at a much later time in recorded history.

This desire to depart from God is truly sad as well. Those who know God may have fear of Him; but it is never for their destruction if they are saved. This is a really great book for those who are overemotional in their walk and who may trust their feelings over their true status. The opposite of course is much more dangerous; for if we are expecting jubilant feelings while loving the world brings God's favor; and we aren't aware what He has saved us from or that we are enemies of God before coming to Christ; then we have to "test ourselves" ( 2 Cor. 13:5) to see if we are in the faith. Food for thought...

    A Genesis Explanation

It's all over the Bible, in different places: search the words: 'upside down'. However it has NOTHING to do with "Old Earth Theory" about creation. That's a cult.

The Bible which is a record of ONE person: Jesus; the Word of God. Genesis to Revelation leads up to the end of this age. 2 Peter: earth will burn up.

What scientists have long sought to explain=

TIME, FORCE, ACTION, MATTER: explained in Genesis 1:1. How did it happen and WHO did it? The Godhead: the Father, the Word of God, the Spirit.

The First thing God created, was TIME. "In Beginning". John 1:2-5, Hebrews 1:1-16. Time began to tick for Creation and Man. For seasons and times.

    God Wills it

The Son ( Hebrews 1:5), The Word, speaks it

    The Holy Spirit performs it.

Mishael: this is enough to get you on track with what happened in Genesis the first day. Get a KJV study Bible that has Center Column references to further explanation (has tiny abc's imbedded in the scriptures). You don't need secular books to read this and understand better.

We know the earth itself is billions of years old. All sciences have evidence. Carbon dating.

Genesis 1:1 shows God creating TIME, first. It was created for mankind.

Maybe your daughter will become a great evangelist amongst the scientific communities? It was recently published that all planets had water on them. It was proven that the position of earth allowed perfection for life. Who did that?

Water on the other planets disappeared. Only Earth has the water needed for life.

Or she may study a named asteroid (star), WORMWOOD (named in the Bible), that is going to hit earth and turn water to be bitter and poisonous. (Book of Revelation) Until recently there were many pictures of Wormwood. Now I think NASA has taken them down to avoid mass hysteria, but they are still tracking it.

Hi Douglas, there's a page on this website that may help:

    Link

The Bible isn't opposed to science- the Bible has plenty of scientific evidence of it being true. But there's a difference between real science using the scientific method and being open to new information vs. fake science where someone may have a scientific degree, but simply uses this title 'scientist' to state his religious opinion. So, in many cases where you hear 'science vs religion', it's actually religion vs. religion. And the burden of proof isn't on Christians to prove God otherwise He doesn't exist- that is a logical fallacy. The problem is we exist and we must explain how and why we exist. The burden is on EVERYONE to explain that and Christianity has a logical explanation and atheists have an illogical explanation.

If we see a building isn't it logical to believe in a builder? If we see a painting isn't it logical to believe in a painter? If we see an amazing design, isn't it logical to believe in a designer? No 'scientists' are claiming buildings were created by a big bang and then gradually evolved to become bigger more complex buildings. But strangely 'scientists' will blindly believe a random explosion from nothing created something which had lots of sexual relations with itself until it became a human being, despite no evidence for that. No one has ever witnessed such a thing, nor can it be reproduced, nor has any kind of animal ever been witnessed changing to a different kind of animal. Yet, strangely you have a religion built around it- atheism, but they just call themselves 'scientists'. No, that violates the scientific method.

The Bible actually has plenty of scientific evidence. You can see seashell and sealife fossils in the tallest limestone mountains in the world- 10,000' level and higher. I have seen them myself. That is evidence of a global flood- just as the Bible describes. Out of space. Have a great day.

I shall be no more in the morning. Does Jobs know he will die by morning or hopes? Curious to find out in the next readings.

Sometimes life becomes very challenging, one thing after another so you ask yourself do I get a break? I can't continue like this, but reading Job gives hope when your at the end of the line. Hope, strength ,and clear thoughts, once we realize we're not walking alone. God is always beside us to guide us though our challenging

times and rocky roads.(Job is our testimony)

Verse 17~Who really are we as humans in God's grand scheme of things? This is a good question to meditate on.

Verse 7~Job thought that he would not be happy again. Sometimes when we are going through trials we can't imagine things getting better, but things can change for the better just like they changed for Job.

This verse makes me feel humbled and loved. To think of our Sovereign God, Majestic perfect and High. No one can compare or come close to Him And yet He is concerned about us lowly and imperfect beings. How can we not love and serve Him

A wakeup call to the times we are living in. Eternity is on us and our activity in our churches which spills over into our homes is materialism, entertainment and leisure. Heaven and ETERNITY is real and we spend so much time preparing for the 70 years on earth. Our cry of PAIN should be Oh God Come and Change our HEARTS so that we can sense the urgency of our day, get our lives in order and alert others to the things of Heaven.
