Fear of the Lord is wisdom. which helps you attain understanding and depart from evil ways. This ultimately strengthens your faith in the Lord. Job never wavered in his Faith, no matter how bad it got his patience was very strong. Just "The patients of Job"

Fear of the Lord, means RESPECT of HIS DIETY. I at one time thought if was a bad fear, however, learning more of the Lord, I understand better. HE is my LORD AND SAVIOUR and I PRAISE HIM all the time..GOD is good all the time. God bless all.

    Would the Lord deceive anyone?

Deuteronomy 4:29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. (Those who seek the Lord totally then NO)

Matthew Chapter 22:36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?

37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the first and great commandment.

39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

What about those who want the IDOL of their sin more than the Lord

Ezekiel Chapter 14:7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to enquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself:

8 And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I [am] the LORD.

9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

...I the LORD have deceived that prophet...not Satan.

Why? cause they loved sin more than the Lord.

I can show you churches in San Fran who teach the Lord created them "gay" and they totally believe they are saved.

they even use a Bible where what they do is not a sin since they are in a "committed relationship"

1 Kings 22:23 Now therefore, behold, the LORD (not satan) hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee.

Humbling to say the least. When you seek the Lord totally he would never deceive you. But when you want sin...

    Moses. Authorship, language, texts

Rabbinic tradition ascribes it to Moses, but scholars generally agree that it was written between the 7th and 4th centuries BCE, with the 6th century BCE, as the most likely period for various reasons.

It's no fairytale. None of that anywhere in the Bible. You must be born again to SEE The Kingdom of God.

    Read John chapter 3, verses 3-21, 36

I believe the only way to have wisdom and understand is to have faith and trust in our Savior Jesus Christ. In this Chapter of Job tells this plain and clear. No matter what Satan did to Job he never blame God for any of it. It show us no matter what Satan does to us we can always trust Jesus. Like it said in 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such is common to man God is

Their is nothing as breathtaking as a good thunderstorm especially over a beautiful mountain range or a ocean. It reminds me that God is ultimately at the controls he is great and greatly to be feared. But he don't want us to serve him because we fear him but because we love him. Creation shows how great he is and deserves our loyalty and devotion."We love him because he first loved us" John's...

Wisdom can only be found in God. Men may seek for gold, silver and other precious stones in the earth but wisdom can only be found in God.

GRADY in the beggining the scriptures said by our FATHER himself hear the word and i will teach you my wisdom .then it was changed to fear.just one letter changes its meaning check it out ok. salt water and sweet water cant come our of the same spring .the comandment spoken by MOSES was to love your maker not fear him.and love your neibor like you love your maker.because he is your bro. or sister. IF you fear him sooner or latter you will judge him for something he did in your life.every thing that happens in this life is for our own good.not only does he speek to us through is word .he also speeks to us in a solf voice inside of us.and he never lies.sure he is on the outside of us,because he is everwhere, but his voice inside of you can and will teach you things you never heard before and no outher person has ever heard before.and the scriptures will prove it to you.thats when the scriptures come alive only then can anyone know the truth.remember MAN teaches what he believes is truth.but your creator teaches what he knows is the truth.and he cant lie.he and his word was alone when he created and no one was there to tell him how to do it.love you

Job here is looking the amazing wisdom of the miners of all type of minerals that are hidden under the ground, such are economic resources peolpe can even fight for and be killed in such battles but he says even that wisdom is not compared to the wisdom that God gives to the person who obeys and fear the Lord. people who always run away from evil are considered people of understanding.
  • Andrew on Job 28:28 - 11 years ago
It teaches us not to do bad things and to fear the lord Jesus.
  • Grady F. on Job 28 - 12 years ago
This is a really great chapter here that really sums up one of the recurrent themes of the whole bible which God says over and over. This is it, wisdom is the greatest treasure you can possibly have in all this world! There is no treasure or pleasure or thing that you can enjoy, buy, have, recieve or get than can compare to it. And that includes gold money jewels beautiful women great houses tasty food nothing that is as good as wisdom, (God's wisdom) not this world's wisdom but the true wisdom that is from and is Jesus Christ the only begotten son of God. And what is that wonderful wisdom you might ask? Well it is summed up right there at the end of the chapter in the last verse- Job 28:28 the fear of God is wisdom and to depart from evil is understanding. Does that mean that we should be afraid of God absolutely not, God is love we have no reason to fear Him unless we are sinning up a storm then look out because God is also just and He does punish for bad behaviour like any truly loving parent. That is why it says depart from evil that means quit doing bad stuff quit thinging bad stuff. Got it? simple, do it then. Yeah good luck with that one! none of us can turn from evil on our own, call on Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and ask Him to be your Saviour-King-God-Mster-Teacher-Messiah-Friend-God-Brother and He will, He wants to be this to each and every one of us so bad you can't even imagine how bad and how much He loves you. He is right next to you right now even though you can't see Him hoping you will invite Him in your heart no matter what bad things you have done thought or heard, the apostle Paul said Jesus is never far from any man!

what I thought of Job is that he had the fear of God, that's wisdom. we should learn from Job's experience no matter the situation.
