If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:26

In all of he troubles job remains faithly, never cursing god
  • Sandy
In the face of it all Job worshipped! He knew that his Redeemer lived, I am so glad that the Bible clearly teaches that this is NOT the only life and we too can stand in our faith thru the trials that come to us until we see our Lord in His Kingdom. Blessed be the Name of the Lord!!
  • Sally
Hold on to integrity. Anyone telling you to lose it is talking foolishness.

    James Bible mark 8:36
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

    Matthew 16:24
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me

    Matthew 16:25
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it

Verse 11~These three companions of Job had in mind to comfort Job, but instead when they arrived they discouraged him. If we have the objective of comforting others, we must choose our words carefully.
  • To Jeanie who went to the beach.
Jeanie your testimony is so special to me. You are really one of God's children. You knew who to blame for your suffering. Though God allowed this to happen you passed the test with flying colors.
  • A disciple
It's really sad how easily it is for the enemy to get us distracted from the Spirit's speaking to us through the Scriptures, by causing accusations and tempers to fly! Here is such a tremendously important Word of God; and the devil just has to rattle one or two up; and the blessing is gone! Please, Oh PLEASE, Brethren; try to care a little less about your precious feelings, and allow forgiveness!
  • A disciple
Some say that it was the holy angels; assuming that this was something that was done in heaven. But WE are the children of God especially who are born from above Believers in Jesus, and originally made to be His children. So when we come to present ourselves before the LORD in our worship and prayers and Bible study; this scenario likewise appears: as the devil comes to slander, Jesus intercedes.

Who were the sons of God in verse 1 of chapter 2

GOD HAS GIVEN US WEAPONS TO FIGHT THE DEVIL THEY ARE ALWAYS DEFEATED VICTORY BELONGS TO US JESUS IS FAITHFUL TO HIS PROMISES ONLY PRAISE HIM AND WORSHIP HIM EVERYTHING ELSE WILL FOLLOW
  • Jeanie
In 2012 I went to the beach 2 years after the bp spill. I got sores all over my body. Being a diabetic my foot got seriously bad. But all through that I never ince blamed God. I knew who to blame. In January 2015 to April 2016 I had 6 major surgeries. It was because of God i got through it all. It reminded me of Job. Faith gets you through it. God is love. Satan is pain.

Irene 123,Surprised?You are surprised at something you yourself wrote"It's very depressing" "in a negative way".These are your words,in addition to your question. You made a judgment and you are unable to accept it.As you said"it is as I intended".
No confusion,if there is judgment I can determine it's justification. You assume I look for judgement, and my walk is like yours, you assume much.
  • Irene123
LU2677- I was surprised you took my comment as negative; I simply asked a question; there was no judgment in it. There is so much judgment on here that I think maybe we are 'expecting it - when there is none; and that's not good in our Christian walk. I re-read my message, and there was no judgment in it. I th'ot maybe I hadn't said it right, but it's as I intended it. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Irene 123,I did not quote Job 7:3 with a bad motive or in the context of my physical situation. My post was answering how long Job suffered his affliction, asked earlier by someone. You judged it as "negative".You judge God's word as "depressing." Do you always give the outcome of every verse you quote?Almost impossible to do with the limit of letters we are allowed here.Your post is negative.
  • Irene123
LU2677 - are you in great physical/emotional pain? Otherwise why would you quote Job 7:3? It's very depressing if you don't bring out Job's end in all of this .....; we shouldn't use the word of God in a negative way.
  • Lu2677
Job 7:3 "So, I am made to possess months of vanity and wearisome nights." Job said.
  • Funke
Job's life teaches us how to be fruitful, when you take a stand in what u believe in the midst of challenges, his spouse even condemned him but Job took a stand and the devil don't like that! Job was rewarded for his faithfulness for he became exceedingly Fruitful.
  • Irene123
I need to correct a statement I made to someone on here - about how long Job was in this situation. I told them to go to Job 2:13, that Job' friends sat with him for a week without speaking. I didn't notice the "without speaking". I assumed the whole episode lasted just a week. One has to be very careful in reading God's word.
  • Irene123
To Stephen Woehr - very well said. I am just now recovering from influenza/pneumonia and bladder infection as of Dec. 13. I was in hosp. for 7 days. I knew the Lord knew all about it before it even happened; that He was in CONTROL. My husband is a wonderful man, do anything for anyone; just has no use for God ( self-made, etc.). I asked the Lord to do whatever; this was His answer.
  • Dr Omenazu Jackson
Job faithfulness is splendid and he received his blessing for that .
  • Anthony
Job to me remains a star. A lot of lessons can be derived from his rough experience; personal LOVE for God,patience and individual judgment etc
  • Makayla
Awesome!! Let the LORD God above bless you!!!!
  • Shawn Thompson
Father God bless me with the I've asked you in my prayers I believe I'm ready conceive, achieve the victory of your blessings
  • Talitha
God is almighty. Job, shows us how strong God is and how when that one person can overcome all things that we can noy imagine ourselves enduring, we begin to realise this can only come from the strength and love Christ stores in us. I respect Job and wishes to seek the God he trusted in during his times of pain and suffering.
  • Stephen Woehr
It is comforting to know that God is in complete control. He does not send affliction our way, but He allows others to do so. Even in that seemingly unloving and uncontrolled avenue, no affliction can hit us which God does not allow. He will not allow any affliction more than what we will be able to bear -- with His help (I Corinthians 10:13).
  • Melvina Crayton
No Matter what satin Brings Your way! Trust n Believe that God will Bring u through!!
  • Lu2677
Satan is evil; I hate all that is evil. I do not "respect" Satan, as someone suggested we do.
God does not give a commandment to "respect" Satan. Respect and Fear of the Lord, is for the Lord. Amen
  • Cliff
The Book of job give us a rare insight into Satan's character, especially as it relates to God. He exhibits neither respect nor fear in his answers to God. However he did HAVE to obey Gods' summons as all must. Jesus called several back from the dead and they all obeyed. Satan is not all-powerful, as we see here. He must have God's permission to harass God's people.Respect him,but don't fear him.
  • Ophelia
This is a lesson that every follower of Christ must learned to hold on to Gods unchanging hands.Because he promised that he will never leave you nor forsake you in all things.
