A fresh start for God's people. Now that the wicked have been removed, Judah will be rebuilt along with a new covenant. God in their hearts. They will learn to fear God again per their past fathers evil ways.

    Hosea 11:4

I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love: and I was to them as they that take off the yoke on their jaws, and I laid meat unto them.

    Jeremiah 31:3

The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.

    Comment:

These are 2 of my favorite prayers to pray for people that are running from Gods Love. I ask that the Holy Spirit to draw them to God so they may find all of the Love they ever dreamed about; truly belonging, and to never fear again of losing that love. A love steadfast and true. Jesus loved the children in His arms and lap. To which the Pharisees admonished him not to.

The essence of is love is worship. Only unrepentant sin can threaten. If I sense a distancing, I turn back immediately, repent and I'm restored. We don't have to beg. God loves His children.

    Song of Solomon 6:3

    Psalm 45:11

What does it mean to be DRAWN by the Lord? Is it related to "in His image" Genesis 2.7 And the LORD God formed man . . . .?

V34, When we are saved by God's Grace, we can rest knowing that ours sins are forgiving and that He will Never Remember them Again. We are promised in Revelation 20 that our sins are forgiven and forgotten and our name is put into the "book of life"

In verse 31 a new covenant was foretold. The nation of Israel had broken the Law covenant so a new covenant was foretold.

The Almighty God made the first Covenant with Israel and Jeremiah 31:31 clearly states that He will make The New Covenant with Israel also. Because Salvation comes from and is of the Jewish people through our Savior Jesus, Who is The Christ and Savior not only in this world, but also in the world that is to come.

We can pollute what God gave us, His Word, by trying to add "prophesy" to prophesy. All right there, yet people think THEY have been given an understanding God hasn't given us, when He gives to all His people. Jeremiah 31 speaks of the "seed of man", Jesus Christ born as a human man. He brings the new covenant. Hebrews reminds that the New Covenant came to us as Jeremiah 31 prophesied in Heb.8

I just finished 10 10 a season of seeking the face of God through prayer and fasting. He lit up my spirit with a word 2 days ago "The spirit of God is rising in the earth. " Today He gives Jer 31 16. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!!

Jehovah God can forgive sins on the basis of the ransom sacrifice. When he does, God forgets in the sense that he will not remember those sins in order to punish again
  • Cindy Horsley on Jeremiah 31 - 9 years ago
Verse 22. Something that has never happened before is being prophesied here. Before the new covenant can happen this "new thing " must happen. This verse is a prophesy of the miraculous birth of our Savior! "Woman " means a lady that is capable of bearing a child and "compass " means to do without, so a woman shall compass a man means that she will bear a child without a man.

this simply means: the lord who does the impossibilities, he does what no man can do. Not even satan. The bible says the lord of host is his name, which mean the commander of the mightiest army that will will exist. That with him victory is gualanteed and sure thanks

it's of the verse in the bible that gives hopes in believing in God. It shows that every person's sorrow takes God into assignment and there on receive strength and smiles. 'every grieved soul I have filled'

It's awesome to know that God doesn't feel about us the way we sometimes feel about ourselves !!

I am not a scholar of theology but my guess regarding the coming in of Rachel centers on the initial contract between Jacob and Laban. Jacob's wife was to be Rachel. Though Laban deceived Jacob, the contract remained in force. Only the length of labour changed. The zeal with which Jacob worked clearly testfies to this. Leah was accepted probably to avoid enemies on both sides. In that sense therefore, all Israel can be officially 'Rachel's children'.

What is the meaning of Jeremiah 31:22? How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? For the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, a woman shall compass a man.

One of my favorite verses in the bible. Time and time again it has given me hope when I have failed God...God loves his children and yearns for them when they fail, that is why we should NEVER GIVE UP!
