Dear Joyce. Thank you for your enquiry into this great Book in the NT. Of course, I can only share my understanding & perspective of this Book & these passages in particular, which means that I'm not in agreement with those 'TV preachers'. And as much as I agree with you that Christ's one & only Sacrifice is all that is needed to cover 'that sin', indeed all sin, I also believe that the message of Hebrews is directed in another way.

The Book was written primarily to those of Israel (Hebrews) that embraced Christ. Most were truly converted, Spirit-baptized, but some (whether saved or not) were in danger of apostatizing, turning back to Judaism. Even though we today can learn much from the Book, I always believe we must read Scripture in the way it was meant to be read: written to whom, the background, the problems, etc. As we see in the entire Book, the strong references to the superiority of Christ to angels, Moses, prophets & the earthly priesthood all spoke volumes to the Jew who pinned his hope in the strict observance of the Torah, the Prophets & the Writings. To all these, says the Hebrews writer, Jesus is far superior & preeminent as the one & only Sacrifice for mankind's sins.

What is your take on Hebrews 10:25-26?

I've heard several TV preachers in the past either say or imply that it means if we commit a sin while KNOWING it's sin, there is NO sacrifice that will cover this particular sin... which would leave us hell bound w/no hope, of course, since sin cannot enter heaven, and we would still have that sin upon us, unforgiven forever and ever.

I, personally, have always thought it meant that if we sin, and know that it is sin when we commit it, no "further" sacrifice is needed by Christ to cover that sin, b/c His sacrifice on the cross was was a one-time for ALL sin ( Hebrews 10:10-14, plus another scripture of which I cannot recall at the moment). But if I am wrong about this, I want to know it!

    Thank you so much.

Please tell the people to stop cremating People. This is a violation of God's Children. True believers are given power to raise the dead People have come to life in morgues. People Ave come back out of deep comas. Stop embalming people and bury them whole and wrap them in spices and leave them whole. I died in my sleep and Thank God I called on The name of Jesus and he brought me back to life I am a living witness. I am so glad I knew to call on him because the people would have call sometime and that would be it. Until the resurrection. Jesus is so Real. Stop Cremation leave people the way they are remove nothing. LET God BE MAGNIFIED.

    This for Mario Sanchez:

Thanks for your testimony. I wish all my friends who have been diagnosed with cancer and other illness could hear your testimony. This is the time for us to Let God Be Magnified and I pray God give you the platform to reach millions. I have lost many friends who were diagnosed after mammograms. They were doing just fine and then you turn around and they are gone. God made us and he certainly can cure us. Yes God is real and watching every move mankind is making. I also want to share this with ou. Every morning I would Praise God for a new day by beating on an old steel cooking vessel. Well I did this for a couple of years and then one morning as I was beating my familiar chant , there was extra music, almost a whistling song coming from this thing. I was like Woah, really? I kept on beating and the extra music kept on going til I stopped. To this day I give God the Glory there is no other explanation. After that I was actually afraid to do it again it was so powerful.

Hi Alex, As you mentioned James wrote to the 12 tribes of Israel, """( That are scattered) """" and 5:14 he referred them to the elders of the church if any were sick, During that time the early Church was nearly ALL Jews, So James may have validated what we said before, the Israel of God is the Messianic Jew. Thank you.
  • Alex on James 5:14 - 3 years ago
James 1 KJV. My comments about the Church being the Israel of God. James 1 written to the 12 tribes scattered abroad, But in Chapter 5 : 14 James writes is there any sick among you let him call on the elders of the Church . Here we see that the Church was the Israel of God. As James says them that are of faith . Which are the Israel of God.

The Apostle James, in this chapter, is condemning the rich, as those who made it their god & used it unwisely for their own benefit & pleasure, rather than for the blessing of others & proper payment to their workers. Their riches were consumed upon their own lusts: lusts for living in carnal pleasures & for high, extravagant living. They "nourished their hearts": this paints the picture of over-indulgence, or fattening themselves, as one does for an animal being prepared for eventual slaughter. Such animals were specially looked after, not worked, only lived in quietness with plenty of good grain to feed on. This resembled these 'rich' men as those fatted contented 'cows' who one day have as their only destiny, their complete demise & destruction.

To find a direct meaning of James 5:5 may not be possible because of the Greek text. However, you could consider the following Scriptures that show a person who lives for self-indulgence or self-gratification to the casting aside of the things of God & holy living.

    Ecclesiastes 2:1-11; Philippians 2:17-19; Proverbs 23:20,21; Ephesians 5:15-19; 1 Corinthians 6:12,13; Matthew 6:19-21.

Pastor Chris, I am glad you got my message.

I really appreciate your kind words of confirmation, and receive them, and accept them as true and sing the victory of the Lord.

I thank the Lord for his mercy every minute that I have a chance to stop and pray.

I made a promise to tell the world about his miracle, and you can count on that.

It is going to be awesome and powerful. God has set me on fire.
  • Chris - In Reply on James 5:14 - 3 years ago
Mario. Praise the Lord for what He has done in your life & for your healing. 'Thy faith hath made thee whole & it is truly the Lord's Doing & it is marvellous in our eyes.' What an impetus to your love & faith in Him: that it may increase day by day & that you may prove Him faithful in every area of your life. Trust that your testimony to your Fellowship on the Lord's Day will be powerful & that it might be just the word from the Lord to someone struggling in their faith & God's Power.

    Psalm 100 for you.

Today is June 24th of 2020:

About two years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, confirmed by two laboratory tests, several MRIs, CT Scans, many PSA test, and other many test.

The entire time, I refused to accept it, and prayed and believed with all my heart, all my mind, and all my soul, that God could heal me; And for that reason, I refused for the doctors to operate on me, or do any other type of treatments.

A few weeks ago, I had a second prostate biopsy since I was diagnosed, and to tell you the truth I was trying to avoid it completely. I cannot tell you enough on how much pain and discomfort you thru this.

Emotionally, I never even blinked once, I believed, prayed, and declared my healing every day.

A couple days ago, I received the results of the second guided biopsy which is very accurate, and from 18 cores they took out an analyzed, it came back with 0. No cancer at all.

Every day, I thank the lord for my healing, his mercy and un-measurable love and faithfulness.

This is a scientifically proven real Healing.

I made a promise to be his witness around the world when he would perform the healing and I specifically asked that I would be able to prove it to those that do not believe.

This Sunday is my first declaration of my Miracle healing at a church in Dallas Texas and is going to be great.

Here is the name of the church and address:

    La Parole Eternelle Church

4600-Wheeler St, Fort Worth, Tx 76117.

    God is great....

A lot of format heavy metal artists profess being Christians now. They are still touring as they did previously. That's how they made their fortunes. People need to pray for them. A little compromise is never a good thing.

On YouTube search testimonies of rock musicians who are Christians now.

Believing Jesus is the Son of God, that He was born of a virgin (Mary), that He died on the cross for our sins, and rose on the 3rd day, that we can be saved. This is what saved us, not being baptized, baptism is an outward showing that we are now Christians and we are living our life for Christ Jesus.

Kristin: read in 1 John 1:9, psalm 51, Revelation 3:5

Backsliding means you stood in one place. You're like a prodigal daughter. Come back and re-dedicate your life. Let your yes Be yes and your no's mean no. No waffling. It happens to a lot of people. Doesn't mean it's not important. I sit beside my bed on the floor and confess my wrongs. God hears and forgives. Let faith stand up: you stand forgiven. Like Jesus said to the woman about to be stoned: Go, and sin no more.

Jesus is your Advocate (attorney). Maybe someday you can help someone else.

If you want to spend eternity with Jesus.. get to know him by reading His Word..the Bible.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOETH the will of my Father which is in heaven
Luke 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and (do not) the things which I say?
James 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? verse 22,23, 24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
If you will read the book of James it will help.

I Believe, would you please Confirm with Scripture that Jesus Commited Sin and so needed to be Baptised and also the Scriptures in Contex that Confirm we Continue to Sin when we are Born Again of God's Seed or were you saying we don't when you said we become Spiritual not Carnal and if so it's True we don't continue to Sin because we can't. Blessings- Annie.

Dear Mary if everyone made up their own answers and yes some do or they have their own interpretation of Scripture there would be much more Confusion this is why we ask for God's Wisdom so we can understand Jas1:5-7 Life wisdom helps but God's Truth will be Confirmed in Scripture 1Tim3:16-17 and in His Creation Rom1:20 or through Prophesy and this will also be Confirmed as His Truth in Reality.
