    James 4:

6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

May we humble ourselves before the LORD GOD and worship HIM in truth and in spirit. FATHER, we need YOUR hand on our nation and our leaders. Thank YOU LORD for answering our prayers.

Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Who and why are they called the two witnesses?

Lord Jesus took Peter, James and John to a high mountain and He was transfigured before them and then Moses and Elijah was talking with Him ( Mat 17:3). These two witnesses had to see the Lord Jesus physically on the earth so when they return to the earth, they will testify about Him ( Rev 11:7) and turn the heart of the fathers to the children and the heart of the children to the father ( Malachi 4:5-6) in the first half of the tribulation period when they will appear on the holy mount. They all witnessed the voice of the heavenly Father speaking to them, that this is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased and listen to Him.

These two were the ones who were given the power for the fire to come down, ( 2Kings 1:10) stop the rain, ( 1Kings 17:1) turn the water into blood. ( Exodus 7:20) They are the two candlesticks having the olive branches by their side emptying the golden oil out of themselves for they are the two anointed ones that stand by the Lord Jesus ( Zech 4:11-14) to testify about Him and restore all things as Jesus said. ( Mat 17:11)

Many say that Enoch and Elijah will come again.

They were taken up to heaven and will come back again and then be killed and after three and a half, Spirit of life from God will enter them and then go to heaven. Well in the time of Jesus many died and rose from the dead again, Mary's brother Lazarus ( John 11:43) the widow's son who rose from the coffin, ( Luke 7:15) Dorcas ( Acts 9:40) and the daughter of the synagogue ruler, ( Mark 5:42) yet they also had a second death in their old age. For then Moses and Elijah will die again and be resurrected again for the Spirit of life will enter them and they will go to heaven. ( Rev 11:11-12)

Well; I am fairly safe to assume based on the end of Malachi that Elijah will come before the "great and dreadful day of the Lord" ( Malachi 4:5). In John the Baptist; Jesus stated that he had come which signifies a type of ministry of repentance in the same spirit; as it were. One could rely on Hebrews 9:27 in stating that man is destined to once die then face the Judgment to say that the only other person translated and missing death was Enoch. Hence; the other witness to come and die in the end times.

There are disputes apparently in the angelic realm about the burial of Moses as seen in the Book of Jude. It seems clear; however that he was buried by God; being told DIRECTLY that he would die there just short of physically entering into the land of Promise.

He did talk as the other member present during the Transfiguration; but there is no scriptural proof that somehow Moses escaped death. Others are seen; such as John the Revelator who Jesus merely said "if he is to remain alive until I come what is that to you" ( John 21:22 loosely translated).

In any case; I hope this doesn't end up being a contentious debate. The power given by God to these witnesses will attempt to be mimiced by the False Prophet bringing "fire down from heaven" and also the mark of God's people in Rev. 7 on the 144,000 and undoubtably protecting the 2 Prophets will also be copied with the Beast's mark. Signs and wonders will truly be present; there will be no atheists and lukewarm believers at last.

Hello Nakia. That's very sad that you have to face such people, especially those who are disabled, who enjoy being sarcastic to their assistants. Maybe their sorrowful state mixed with mental/emotional anguish puts some into that frame of mind, to want to degrade or attack others. Sarcasm comes in various degrees of verbal attack; it maybe very mild filled with innuendo right up to a very derogatory remark about you as a person, about your job, or even the type of service you give her. They might have nothing nice to say about you & very likely about anyone else - does she complain or gossip about others?

It is clear that you cannot avoid her, since you need to tend to her needs. Also, you probably cannot check her to tell her not to speak like that to you - it may only inflame her & may not be company policy to do so. I assume that you are a Christian, since you're presenting this problem on this Site to find advice. Therefore, the way the Lord would probably deal with such a person as this who is struggling within herself, is that you continue to show her love & respect, maybe even laugh it off when she darts off a snide remark to you. I know it is uncomfortable & even painful for you to do so, but real "love covers a multitude of sins" ( 1 Peter 4:8). Try and look past her words & see a very needy woman (physically & emotionally) hurting inside, who needs a loving greeting, kind words & the extra help that she needs - maybe check on her often during the day to see that she is comfortable & she might in time, find in her heart to accept you & shower you with praise instead of sarcasm. The Lord will see your good work which is of great value, rather than the fickle fading attitudes of others - rejoice in Him & serve others with the gift He has given you, with His Love & Care.

    One of my favorites!

The story about how Paul floated in from a shipwreck. They built a fire to get dry. A snake slithers out of the fire and bites Paul.

A rare super deadly variety of snake.

He knew what the scriptures say" no deadly thing" So everyone is huddled and waiting for Paul to keel over, but he didn't. God protected him.

Let God come to you. Practice Peace. He's not going to come in with trumpets blazing. He will come as a lamb; a still small voice.

John 3, has everything you need to get started.

After receiving Jesus as your Lord, Then HE baptises you with the promise of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

One of Holy Spirits ministry is to be your TEACHER in all things concerning Jesus. He helps you to pray rightly. He helps you to understand what you read in the Bible. ASK him for help.

When we are new in Jesus we may not be ready to receive speaking in tongues. It is for 'to rest' in Jesus, and be His beloved child.

To fast track what the Holy Spirit does, it may be easier to Google: Ministry of the Holy Spirit to Believers.

He gives the gifts and operations as you are ready to receive them. It also means quieting yourself, and just sitting before Him; in an attitude of quiet and listening. You may think of a Church song you love: sing it. "Enter His gates with praise."

A barrier to hearing, is the constant pollution of a tv on in the background. We do that because we don't like our thought life.

Holy Spirit is not going to shout revelation, over the noise of the world from tv. He waits for us to quiet ourselves. Tell your brain to be still.

Songs I may sing to Jesus: Nothing But the Blood of Jesus; Jesus Loves Me; I have decided to follow Jesus; I walk the line by Johnny Cash. Be Exalted,O God.

[Praise songs will fire up prayer life]

God inhabits our praises and angels hearken to our praises and spoken scriptures.

Peace and blessing be upon you

    Dear Terrt,

If you are a believer, then you have the Holy Spirit in you. He comes into every believer at conversion. If you are talking about an experience that some speak about of being "baptized in the Holy Spirit" or "filled with the Holy Spirit" this is not because a person does not already have the holy Spirit in them since conversion. Rater an outward experience of an inward work of God to bestow, empower, or release gifts and ministry to a believer or to assist a person in further surrender to God. Some people do exhibit an distinctive manifest experience a distinctive manifestation of this experience and others have an inner "knowing". God doesn't do a "one size fits all". The important thing is to believe that you have received what you have requested from God, because He has promised to answer such requests. We are called to walk in the Spirit, and we cannot do this if we do not have Him in us. But, thank the Lord, when we believe the gospel, the Holy Spirit comes in us to dwell and help us in realizing all that God has for a believer.

Why is it that some people get the holy ghost and others dont? I called on the name Jesus Jesus Jesus over and over again as i was taught to by the House of God church Keith Dominion and i just dont know if i truly have the Holy Ghost. Im not a smart or intelligent person but i love the Lord. I failed God in a lot of areas. I dont want to end up in hell. Help me to truly know that i have the holy ghost. Hi Merlinda. Many have wondered why Pharaoh & the Egyptians were treated so harshly by God, when prior to sending out the various plagues we often read that God had hardened Pharaoh's heart.

We first see that Pharaoh was an evil man, a brutal dictator who also enslaved the Israelites with terrible abuse & oppression. As well, he believed that he was a god or at least, an intermediary to the pantheon of gods (even as the people considered the pharaohs) & there was none their equal. So Pharaoh could say, "Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go." ( Exodus 5:2). So Pharaoh's heart was already opposed & hardened towards the God Whom Moses & Aaron represented as we also see in some references: Exodus 7:22; 8:15,19,32; 9:7,34,35.

So when we read that it was God Who hardened the Pharaoh's heart ( Exodus 4:21; 7:3; etc.), we have to conclude that indeed God did affect Pharaoh's heart against Him, but his heart was already hard & stubborn & God simply ensured that his heart would remain so during the time of affliction & punishment. God could well have done this to remind Pharaoh who this God of Moses was, the mightier works that He can do than what Pharaoh's magicians could do & how grossly wicked Pharaoh's acts were against the Israelites that warranted such stern punishment. Yet, God was still merciful in sparing the Egyptians lives, in spite of their suffering & loss of human life.

What should have been a repentance & softening of Pharaoh's heart, remained hard & this hardness was then made harder by God proving His Power over the Egyptians & His Love for His people, Israel, to free them from tyranny. Romans 9:17: "For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh, Even for this same purpose have I raised thee up, that I might shew my power in thee, and that my name might be declared throughout all the earth." cf Exodus 9:16.

At death, a sinner suffers a threefold separation of his being:

his body goes to the grave, his soul goes to hell (sheol), and his spirit ascends upward to God. [ Ecc 3:21]

In the Old Testament Dispensation, upon the death of a believer, his body went to the

grave, and his soul and spirit went to Paradise, also called death and Abraham's bosom. After the Blood of Jesus was applied to the Mercy Seat in Heaven, the spirit and soul of a believer could go directly into the presence of the LORD ( II Corinthians 5:8).

I've heard many people including "mature" Christians quote "Resist the devil and he will flee from you." This scripture is conditional upon our submission or surrender to God. If we attempt to resist the devil having not humbled ourselves and submitting to God, we leave ourselves open to the enemy's attacks. Lord let us humble ourselves and pray and seek your face and turn from our wicked ways that we may be used by you in your End Time army and lead many to Jesus unto salvation. Help us remember to daily put on the full armor of God according to Ephesians 6. We love you and need you Lord Jesus.

  • Joshua on James 4:4 - 3 years ago
The whole of God's Word shows us that once we are born again, we become a new creature( 2 Corinthians 5:17). We are to be dead to our old ways. Dead to the ways of the world, because the world is wicked( 1 John 5:19). We are not to continue practicing sin( Titus 2:12, James 1:27).

We will still sin because we are still imperfect. ( Romans 7:23-24, Philippians 3:12, Ephesians 4:13). The difference is we do not continue PRACTICING sin, or WILLFULLY sinning.

If we continue our old practice - our dead in our sins way of living AFTER we become saved, we were never saved/born again to begin with( Hebrews 10:26, 1 John 2:15, 2 Peter 2:20-22).

We are still in the world but we are not of the world( John 17:16, Romans 12:2). On the contrary, we are tasked by the Lord to be examples & witnesses to the world( Philippians 2:15, Matthew 5:14, Romans 10:14-15).

This, I believe, is the "key" to knowing whether or not we are truly saved. If we truly believe.
  • Chris - In Reply on James 4 - 3 years ago
Carl, I agree that God knows all things - if He didn't, He wouldn't be the God that the Bible reveals to us.

No, I didn't say that "God did not know that Satan was (not?) going into the garden". I said, "that God didn't put Satan there". There's a difference between knowing & putting/inviting. God knows all things, but in this instance, as with Job, God didn't cause (or invite) that action to be performed.

God has control over everything, but does He intrude into our choices, even Satan's? Yes, God allowed Satan to "attack Job". But did God put Satan there or even invited him to do what he (Satan) wanted? The Scripture tells us that Satan instigated the desire to test Job & God gave him permission, albeit with a caveat.

"Why did God let Satan tempt Eve". Sure, God could have prevented this happening, simply by stopping Satan from getting close to her (them). How long would this have lasted? Ok, so maybe by doing this, they would remain innocent, but to their descendants, would Satan not try again to cause mankind to rebel & sin against God? Or, do you feel that God should be able to stop Satan from pursuing this evil act against every human in all generations?

In this temptation to Adam & Eve, I see that God made us "in His image, after His likeness", unlike His other creation. What does this tell us about these distinctive godly qualities in man? We can think, reason, choose, communicate, etc. With those godly traits, I see God would allow man to avail them for whatever purpose he chose. But since they were innocent, obviously the demonstration of those traits would have been in wholesome purity & godliness. If another comes along to change all that (e.g. Satan), it is still the same trait that would also be exercised towards him. Unfortunately, for them & us, they chose wrongly. But God in His great Design, had a rescue Plan.
  • Carl Gaines - In Reply on James 4 - 3 years ago
Chris, see this is where everybody gets confused. You have to either believe the bible and that GOD knows all things or you don't.

The only way I can truly believe and trust in GOD is that he is or he isn't or the bible is or it isn't. So using your logic GOD did not know that Satan was not going into the garden, which would mean GOD has no control over Satan. GOD has control over everything or he doesn't. GOD allowed the devil to attack JOB without GOD's permission Satan could not of attached JOB. GOD has a plan for us and what that plan is nobody knows. The part of the plan I don't understand is why did GOD let Satan temped EVE.

To Saving the earth on james 4.

You are so so right. No one listens to me either. The enemy of this world has them thinking opposite. I have studied this in the past. Wrote alot what l saw coming. No one knows that the times of mankind destructions are causing God's wrath to come fast and fury. People are suffering every day. Don't go to mankind. Go to your Holy Father. Read His word and prepare to fight now for Him. The fight at the end will be hard and many will suffer as never before. Mankind and satan had destroyed what God created for us. There is a Loving God who will fight with you. His Light of Love is so strong that you will stand as a Warrior for Him in the End. You will have your Father of Glory to go too. So fight on your knees and in His word. Don't straddle the fence any more. Stand tall-- Stand Strong!!!
  • Chris - In Reply on James 4 - 3 years ago
Carl, the Genesis account does not give us all the details in this passage, but we would understand a few things. Adam & Eve were innocent & without sin in their creation. They remained that way & were never tempted by that tree being there, or for that matter, any tree or animal in Eden. Then Satan comes along; I don't believe that God put him there, but I do understand from Scripture that Satan was cast down from Heaven when he & those angels rebelled against God ( Ezek 28:14-18: the reference is to the King of Tyrus, is fully seen in Satan's existence before & after his rebellion). So when Satan was cast out of Heaven, he used a serpent (quite possibly very different to what we know today), to seek out & tempt Adam & Eve to sin & lose their innocence.

So I don't see that God especially put Satan there or even invited him to do what he did, but that Satan took the opportunity to destroy God's creation, which of course, he did when they obeyed him rather than God. But God, as we know, had other plans: in time & at the height of mankind's corruption, God would come Himself in Jesus, so as to give His life for us all. So Satan had a temporary victory, but God, through His Son, has given us an everlasting victory & restoration back to Himself. Satan still 'niggles' at us with temptations, but he knows that those who have been saved through the blood of the Lamb, will always have victory over him & as God has justified & sanctified us forever.

In Israel right now, there are so many people moving there; possibly wanting to live inside Jerusalem; saying they are Jewish or of Jewish ancestry... Israel is actually checking genealogy out. They have more people coming in than they have housing for. A lot of people are upset about that.

That's why they need to annex the land so new 'burbs can be built.

Meanwhile the Palestinians are breathing fire and threatening vicious promises. Syria and Iran are linking up with Russia.

Yet no one in America seems to know about it. I wonder if they know Russia and China are going to do business on their new Silk Road; along with Palestinians.

I watch earthquake maps every day almost. Countries all around Turkey; in Turkey and in Russia have earthquakes almost every day. It's interesting. News media doesn't care about it.

How is this end times going to pan out?

There seems to be a web being spun around places. The only thing they are united on is wiping out teeny tiny Israel. You'd think big player nations would invade South America. All they have is soybeans and soon to be no rain forests. The oceans are warming and the atmosphere. I think if you burn down your oxygen source... you should be invaded. Does anyone take science in High School or College anymore?

It's not going to help. Prophesy is happening! Has been for a long long time. The whole planet is longing for the Return of Jesus Christ. Pay attention to the SIGNS of the TIMES we are living in. Read your Bible and read rogue Newspapers. Do some googling on scientific records of rarely reported earth phenomenon. The South Pole is melting! The oceans will turn to blood. What science confirms that? If all the other forests burn up, how do we get oxygen.

Get on board with Jesus NOW. We can't fix all the broken stuff anymore. This age is like an hourglass with much less sand than 2000 years ago. Grab on to Jesus. HAVE FAITH in Him to save you.

Adam was in the garden of Eden by himself for (we don't know how many of years) and never was tempted by the fruit on the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Than GOD put Eve in the garden (we don't know for how many years) and neither of them ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. It was only when GOD put Satan into the garden that Eve was tempted and ate the fruit which has gotten us where we are today.

So my Question is why put Satan in the garden, when the temptation was already there?
