    Jeremiah 3:8
"And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also."
God DIVORCED Israel with the promise of remarriage
Jeremiah 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Matthew 15:24 But he (Jesus) answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Christians do not change their nationality. they were divorced Israel from the beginning.
like the woman at the well.
    John Chapter 4
10 Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.
11 The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water?
12 Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well,...(Jacob's name became ISRAEL)

13 Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again
Jesus never told her she was not an Israelite
  • Curtis Stewart - In Reply on James 1 - 4 years ago
You cannot change your nationality, simply because you have accepted Christ. No scripture says that. And please read from verse 1 to see WHO the subject matter is..its all about the descendants Jacob(whose name was changed to "Israel.)
If i moved to China, adopted Buddhism, did all the religious practices, etc..do i suddenly become a Chinese person? No, thats not possible. Its people who make up this nonsense in "christianity" wants to believe that they suddenly become an Israelites just because they accepted Christ. Thats nonsense. In fact, THESE are the people the Scripture refers to: Romans 9:4 "Who are Israelites, to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants,..etc
  • Curtis Stewart - In Reply on James 1 - 4 years ago
Yes, What you have said is all true, because its the word of The Most High. The problem though, is when we read a Book, ANY Book, and is not aware of the subject matter or character in the book, else HOW can we understand the story? In the entire Bible, the subject matter is ISRAEL, and not EVERYONE in the world. Therefore, no matter where you read, youll begin to notice, it was always about the descendants of Jacob(whose name was changed to "Israel"). The new and Old Covenants was with Abraham and his descendants, not with everyone in the world!!

James Guy: please read 1 Timothy chapter 4, particularly verse 3. "FORBIDDING to marry and COMMANDING to abstain from MEATS, which God created to be received with thanksgiving.of them which believe and know the truth
Verse 1: Now the Spirit speaketh expressly that in LATTER TIMES some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and Doctrines of Devils."

You actually pass on barbecue for a glass of protein powder really?! Genesis chapter 1 is God creating so man/woman can enjoy it. He called everything HE created, GOOD. He didn't say oh whoops I made a mistake. Verse 31, HE looked over everything HE made and said it was very GOOD.
    You've been seduced. Repent!

Your comment has blessed me this morning. I love to talk... But I am not quick to listen as God will have me, I am not slow to speak. I want to walk the way God wants me to. I love how you said STOP LOOK and Listen to God's Word. He who hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit says unto the church... I talk too much but I am going to APPLY God's Word by listening to God and when I speak to others because God may have a message for me through someone else... Thank You Jesus

16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. God moved me to read this after asking him if all the Bible was true.
  • Bob Hilt - In Reply on James 1 - 4 years ago
Galations 3:29 shows those in Christ ARE the seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob Israel.
Matthew 15:24 - But he Jesus answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
  • Curtis Stewart on James 1 - 4 years ago
The FIRST thing to note in Verse 1, is that this epistlebwas NOT addressed to everyone in the world, but to the 12 scattered tribes of Israel, scattered all over the world, through SLAVERY(CAPTIVITY). Now THIS SHOULD give you an idea of WHO these ppl are, because the Real Jews/Israelites were taken out of the land, sent off into CAPTIVITY for their sins, as Christ Himself said in Luke 21:24..proving those living in Israel today, CANT be the real Jews..but rather jew-ish!!
This WHY James said "My Brethren" which literally mean "My BROTHERS" because James is also an Israelite!
If u bypass this first 2 verses without acknowledging this, then u would think this epistle was for everyone. Its not!

Taking part in these discussions is in a big way doing the Lord's work. Two Christians discussing the Word is a Church.

we all have to watch our tongues, and be doers of God's Word. or we are fooling ourselves. and we must be doers of gods word, we can't just ignore God's word and go on with our lives. our lives as the world is are not important. Only our Spiritual lives with God in God are important. We must be doers of Gods word. , not live the evil ways of the world today. The ways of the world are just evil, just look around. Look at the way people dress, especially us women. We might just as well be wearing nothing. God wants us to dress modestly. The way we are in this world of today is the devils way. That is not a doer for God.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. My mom told me when my dad died Christians help her but family told her the Christians were keeping her from having fun. My mom left the place the Christians provide for us and went to the family but they didn t accept us.

there are many poor who labor hard with very little in return. But Jesus did speak quite a bit on this, Luke 6: 21-22 Luke 12: 32-34, Hebrews 1:3. There are many weak in spirit as well, that need to hear the truth of the Love of God and he sees them right where they are he is with them, and they are not forgotten in his eyes, we too should be more like God he teaches us to be humble, feed them
  • Vivian - In Reply on James 1 - 4 years ago
There will always be the poor. The Lord hates the lazy. He says when we finish with the harvest, let the poor come and glean what they can from the field. This means the poor still have to work. Go to the field. Pick the spoils. Pound the wheat to flour. Bake the bread. Slothfulness is a sin.

Perhaps one of the most underrated verses in the Bible, James 1:27 - Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To care for the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world. In God's wisdom, power and love he puts caring FIRST. I plead for all to remember and do this. Imagine the despair and suffering this will cure. PRAISE GOD!

Faith and Patience are fruits of the Spirit of God that must be developed by trials and tribulations. Its our duty as believers to know the works of the Spirit to enjoy His mercy, charity, clemency, grace, leniency that comes from the trials of Faith and Patience to helps us choose good over evil. Amen

do not think those that are well to do deserve more respect then a poor person, knowone is above anyone. Respect all and seems the uppity need lessons on this, today they want to create more poor with their own greed. God help them when they knock at the door
  • Vanesa on James 1 - 4 years ago
a double minded man, you cant walk in the middle, it's doing the works of God by telling the truth, and preaching the whole word of God in this good book, do not preach cherry picking. some like to lack the word of hell, but that road is wide and the road to our Father is narrow, you want to love thy neighbor by leading them in truth, and take care of the poor. widows and fatherless

Now, Ye confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: so how can ye now speak truth? For it is written of Christ, All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. Ye say, That was before the crucifixion! I tell ye John is no thief or robber, for it is written, Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Christ, but that I am sent before him.

verse 8: A double minded man is unstable in 'all' his ways. (this man finds himself going around in circles in life, or taking two steps forward then three steps backward; he very easily spend 60 years / life being double-minded; his situation become compounded by his numerous like-minded ..., ...; this type minded person will blame everyone for her/his personal-will to remain in such state)...
  • Obbie Beal on James 1 - 5 years ago
1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
(there is a ‘wisdom of the world /men’; it is earthly, sensual, devilish; this wisdom do not come from Jehovah/GOD. there is a ‘WISDOM of GOD’ and IT is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be ask of, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, without hypocrisy.
