Steve morrow's comment on 12/21/2017, 6:53am...

1 CORINTHIANS 1:10 now I beseech you brethren by the name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement 1 CORINTHIANS 11:1 be you followers of me even as I also am of CHRIST JOHN 8:38 I speak that which I have seen with MY FATHER and you do that which you have seen with your father --8:26-- I have many things to say and to judge of you but HE that sent ME is true and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of HIM ACTS 3:26 unto you first --GOD--having raised up HIS SON JESUS sent HIM to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities

Traci Taylor's comment on 11/16/2017, 9:59am...

Praise God for the word of the Lord! The word is the only way to examine the truth about man to the point where even God says "Man hall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceed out of the mouth of God" It is powerful and a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. A wonderful remedy for things that attempt to alter, distort, or pervert us. The book of James is a mirror.

A disciple's comment on 11/15/2017, 5:47am...

"Jesus spent 3 quarters of His time in Ministry healing the sick and delivering people from the hold of the devil.." John the Baptist preached that every valley would be exalted, and every mountain and hill made low; the crooked be made straight, and the rough places made plain. The work of God is that we believe, and by our faith preparing to meet our God. Patient Endurance in Obedience by FAITH.

Darrick Triplett's comment on 11/14/2017, 12:12pm...

Knowing this, that the ' trying of your faith ,Faith , And Faith worketh patience.

A disciple's comment on 11/13/2017, 12:47pm...

"Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience." James 1:3 In the context of all that is here being said by James what were the "temptations" in which they were exhorted to rejoice in? Because of the persecution that arose over the matter of Stephen, all but the Apostles were driven out and scattered, to look for new homes as strangers in foreign Countries. The relentless and merciless pursuit by their own countrymen even into far away lands, was terribly cruel. Now adding the temptations that are more common to us all which have to do with our character and sanctification and the chastisements necessary for growth and coming to maturity this is a very excellent and serious instruction! Jesus spent 3 4 of His time in Ministry healing the sick and delivering people from the hold of the devil all in things for their comfort and well being in this present evil world, and in our present condition of humiliations and temptations! Whatever our troubles, and however we are put to the test walking in truth trusting in the Lord over all we see and feel and experience is the walk of victory and overcoming! Let us consider the things that will be for one another's well being and comfort, and regard our own trials and torments as those things sent by our Father for our healing and freedom, and the end everlasting life.

BSP's comment on 10/31/2017, 1:43pm...

Verse 5: If we are lacking in wisdom on how to be more pleasing to God we should pray to him for the wisdom and he will offer us the help we need.

Emanuel Fernandes's comment on 9/13/2017, 11:23am...

Don't be a partaker of other men sins this means don't participate in sin or cover it up or look the other way. That sin of omission which is a common sin all Christians are guilty of frequently

Mumde's comment on 9/12/2017, 4:03am...

I thank God for this book, a brother in Christ was teaching about temptations last week and asked the congregation where all thought temptations come from. It was sad to note that most of us including myself were not sure up until the teacher read from James 1 vs 13. I learnt that I need to read the Bible as much often as possible so I don't miss salvation because of ignorance

Doris McIntosh's comment on 9/07/2017, 10:06am...

"keep himself unspotted from the world". Does this not mean that we should not participate in or condone things of the world that we know is sin? People too often say it is just changing times.
"Be not conformed to this world but rather by the renewing of your mind...". I agree that it is very clear James should be applied to every day living.

Athieno morrine's comment on 8/30/2017, 5:59am...

God is awesome!

Mr. Smith's comment on 8/23/2017, 7:14am...

Victoria. Amen sister. So sad that so many people blame everything that happens to them on God. Stay strong!

A disciple's comment on 8/20/2017, 11:05am...

"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed." We are of the world to come which the Lord Jesus brings from the right hand of the Father to establish the world in righteousness and truth and life everlasting. The soundness and solidity of our understanding of this is what makes our faith in Him firmly established and unmovable. We are not uncertain about the truth, that God is! And we are not unstable and flow to the point of least resistance like water but our stability is in the supreme greatness and authority of Him who both created the waters, and walks upon them! Let us strive with all earnestness and determination to let patience have its perfect work in us, that we should not be ashamed at His coming but receive Him with fullness of joy and expectation when He appears.

Victoria's comment on 8/19/2017, 8:18am...

v17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and cometh down from the Father of light... This means that if a gift is not good/perfect it not from God if it something that causes you pain or makes you sad it definitely not from God because God knows how to give Good and perfect gifts if you ask him for bread he would not give you stone. Amen

Whizzer4's comment on 8/17/2017, 7:29am...

James is very clear at whose feet blame falls in temptation. People that say the devil made me do it are simply endeavoring to transfer their sin to him. Temptation can not be avoided, how ever our response to it determines whether it becomes sin. A lot of Christians give satan far too much credit when in reality We are the ones responsible for our own actions.

Jerry Herndon's comment on 7/14/2017, 7:38am...

I like how the book of James contains to every day of our life. Not just yesterday.

Insight777's comment on 6/30/2017, 3:08pm...

V27, Stephen visited and fed the Jewish fatherless and widows that were neglected by the Jews. Pure in heart, with kindness and charity, Stephen was not only helping Christians but also those in need under the dominance of other religions. Jewish religion and Christianity are not the same religion.

Donna Cromb's comment on 6/23/2017, 8:52pm...

Verse 13: God doesn't tempt man is very clear, test yes, but tempt no. Neither does the devil make man do sin, our own desires of the flesh are what lead a person down the road to destruction, verse 14. Faith is more than saying, I believe so I am saved. It takes a deep conviction that is strong enough to change conduct befitting God and saying no to temptation of our own bodies to sin, obedience

Lu2677's comment on 6/14/2017, 7:26am...

James 1:21"receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your souls. The "engrafted word", is all 66 books of Holy Writ. The"engrafted word" is not what some teach that there are only certain parts that pertain to salvation. I think they call it "fundamentals, and essentials doctrine" Be not deceived.

Geraldine cole's comment on 4/25/2017, 6:24am...

U right temptation is not sin .sin come in when we desire a thing or person then we act on it .Remember when Sadan tried to Temp Jesus he did not do what Sadan wanted him to do but he did speak a word on him.letting us no we must reburk Temptation .temptations will come we must be able to ID the source And remember Jesus Dont Temp anyone so the source will be Flesh or Sadan Praise the Lord .

BSP's comment on 4/21/2017, 10:48am...

Verses 2 to 4 shows that when we successfully cope with trials it makes our faith stronger and we develop positive qualities.

Lewis Mills Jr's comment on 4/02/2017, 10:33pm...

To me this verse shows us how to be humble, and obedient, in honoring God with sincerity, doing what God's word says do, not seeking the attention of man. Obedience.

David V's comment on 1/25/2017, 4:52am...

Bruce, though the same Greek word for temptation is used it is spoken of in 2 contexts. The first is one in which you "fall into". This is meant to try the faith and produce enduring obedience and faithfulness to God as we experience His grace more and more.
The second refers to being tempted with that which God cannot be, evil. This comes from within and is inherent in our flesh see Romans 7.
