Isaiah 9v6" a child is born a son is given" Jesus was 100% man and 100% God. The 100% man is related to a child born from Mary and the 100% God is related to the son that was given. The son was not born because He existed already:"let us make man to our image."It was the child that was born.jesus present himself as the word, the truth and the life. John said the word become flesh.jesus is God. Amen

I believe and the government shall be on His be on
His government means.government means that to have
domenion to have rule over a city or state.but during His time. What did it mean when Christ was born and walk into His ministriy or what exactly did Isaiah when the Lord showed him the chosen one?In it's simpless form that a child would understand?Because as I share this word not a soul would like "what'?is the mening of shoulders would it be to carry, like carring us on His shoulders? As they march on to CALVERY known as the skull?

There are is no such thing as God(s). There is only one and his name is Jesus Christ. 1 John 5:7 says there are three that bear record in heaven. The father the word and the holy spirit and these three are one. John 1:1 says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was with GOD the Word was GOD... That whole description was of Jesus. In the bible no one verse stands alone. There is always other verses that compliment and/or justify the initial verse that is being read. Prime example is the two verses I listed. Another example is John 8:58 Jesus said befor Abraham was I Am. In Exodus 3:14 GOD said to Moses I Am that I Am.

  • Rosalinasaysonkotapay on Isaiah 9 - 10 years ago
The name of the child to be born shall be called The Almighty "God", The everlasting "Father" ( Isaiah 9:6)...the same name "was the Word" and "was with God" and "was God" in the beginning ( John 1:1-2) who "was made flesh" ( John 1:14)...and it was the "Word" of God ( Revelation 19:13)...which is "a name written, that no man knew, but he himself" ( Revelation 19:12)...and it was the "name of the Father" whom Jesus Christ manifested and declared to those whom he has chosen out of this world to KNOW him and his Father ( John 17:1-26)

You can correct me ok. My thought is that my parents gave me my physical body but GOD put my soul or me in the body. Was Jesus born and GOD put Jesus the person in the body which would be GOD himself?

Our society has turned away from God. I felt sad and angry when "God" was taken out of our holidays, our schools; public buildings. We cannot say "Merry Christmas" in an office setting. God is angry at this. Who can help us go back to the way it was before some other groups made a stink that we shouldn't have Christmas trees in public places. So what if we don't have all the other religions celebrations. We didn't start out that way. God is God no matter what religion.

I would like to help if I can. First, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness". Peter and Jesus cannot be opposed, that would make God at odds with Himself. Also if the Son born is the Everlasting Father, then the Son is the Father. John declares In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. If Matthew 28:19 says the same as what Peter said in Acts 2:38 then you have to understand, Matthew 28:19 is not speaking about anything else but the name, it is stating that the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, is JESUS. The biggest problem most of us have with scripture, we dont study the word enough. God will always tell the truth, man will hardly even believe the truth. Seek God, not mans explanation. Let the mind of God direct you and the Love of God comfort you.

I think Isaiah 9:10 also speaks of God's Judgment against America after 9-11. They have placed the dead sycamore tree on the grounds of 9-11 and replaced it with a cedar that is dying and its branches falling off and even the bushes around it are dying. John Edwards and Tom Daschle both prophesy out of ignorance the defiance against God. Sad to say there is Judgment coming against America. Pray for Gods mercy for America.

    Great and understandable.
  • Joseph Opare on Isaiah 9 - 11 years ago
I tried to introduce Christ to a Jewish colleague in my office who doesn't believe in Christ. But after proving to him the Jesus is not only our savoir but also our God using Isaiah 9:6, he is now making sense of what I said after consulting his Rabi for two weeks on this matter. The Lord will always defend His word after we have shared word with unbelievers. Amen

If it is true that Ephraim and Manasseh are England and United States respectively, it appears as though England and the United States will be at war with Judah (Israel) during the final war of the present age.

Jeff and Jacques ... Matthew 28:19 ... The words of Jesus Christ ... "go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost" ... Whose word is more important? The word of Peter or the word of Jesus Christ, the Son of God?
  • Shifonda reese on Isaiah 9 - 11 years ago
God is love. His son Jesus Christ is our savior. He gave his only begotten son for our sins. There is the Father, the Son and the holy ghost.

  • Jacque on Isaiah 9 - 11 years ago
That's right Jeff! Revelation 1:8 says - I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the *Almighty*. Jesus spake this.

John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. -v,14- And *the Word was made flesh*, and dwelt among us*, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Whoever you are ~ 123 ~ let me give you some knowledge. John 3:16 says For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him *SHOULD* not perish, but have everlasting life.

It does NOT say that you SHALL be saved! I bought an ozarka water the other day and it said on the back of it, " this item SHOULD not be sold individually." well i bought it by its self. So, maybe it wasn't meant to be sold individually but it was. Same goes with the scripture. Yeah if you believe that Jesus is god and you believe this,

Ephesians 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, -6- One God and Father of all,

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be saved.

If you think there is three gods you are sorely mistaken. There's not two nor five. Only ONE !

Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Isaiah 44:8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any.
1 Timothy 3:16 And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

Isaiah 9:6 is such an encouraging verse not only does it show how much god loves us(mankind) that he would send his only begotton son (his first creation ever)
As a sacrifice for us(john3:16,colossians1:15) but it also gives us hope. A hope that we will actually have a government that achives peace lasting peace! A governmentthat Will swallow up death forever and have victory over it. Which i have yet to see any human government accomplish. ( Isaiah 25:8;rev:21:4) that I
Would be such a privilege to live under such rule

Jesus is the God, the old testator died(flesh on the cross),In ALL you do,word and/or deed, do in the NAME, not names and the so called trinity is NOT in the bible. It's man made and of the devil! Don't be fooled into believeing mans word over God.Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sin's(Acts2:38)we live in the new testament now and Gods name changed, the NEW Testament? No longer do we strip down and cover ourselves with ashes,Jesus(the flesh)was the last blood sacrafice, no longer do we kill a bull, dove, ect. for our sin's.It's done away-with till Jesus want's to bring it back! One Lord, one faith, one baptisum,God of ALL and IN you-all,that have His Spirit, and if you don't beleive it, you will die in your sin's!
  • Luis on Isaiah 9 - 12 years ago
I have a doubt, in Isaiah 9: 3 says: 3 Thou hast multiplied the nation, [and] not increased the joy: they joy ... whereas in the versions Reina-Valera 1960 (Spanish) and in the NVI (in Spanish and Portugues) say that the joy had been encreased too: "Multiplicaste la gente, y aumentaste la alegra." Can you tell me where does the difference come from? Thank you very much in advance.
  • Jake on Isaiah 9:6 - 13 years ago
In what sense is Jesus a Mighty God?
Isaiah also foretold that Jesus would be a Mighty God. Before coming to earth he was a god in the sense that he was the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. ( John 1:1; Colossians 1:15) After dying as a human and being raised as an immortal spirit, he is a god in the sense that he partakes bodily of the divine quality. Colossians 2:9; 1Timothy 6:15, 16.
However, there is an authority associated with the title Mighty God. In the Bible certain men were called gods. Why? Because they served as judges in the nation of Israel. ( Psalm 82:1-6) Jesus, the Mighty God, is Jehovahs great appointed Judge. He himself explained what this meant: The Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son, in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. John 5:22, 23.
Among the judgment acts entrusted to Jesus is the judging of his own congregationboth those who had died prior to his return in Kingdom power and those still aliveat the period of his presence during the conclusion of the system of things. ( Matthew 24:3) He also does the judging of the nations today, separating the sheep from the goats. In addition, he will preside over the thousand-year judgment day of all mankind after Armageddon. A Mighty God indeed! Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 11:18; 1Peter 4:17; Revelation 20:4, 5, 13.
Listen, O Israel: Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
    Deuteronomy 6:4

The Mighty God(YHWH), The Everlasting Father..I only have One True and Living God...Jesus is the name. For His name is above every name...there is no other name under heaven giving amoung men whereby we must be saved.
  • Esther on Isaiah 9 - 13 years ago
Why people don't noticed verse 7? As if they only read verse 6 pertaining to Jesus Christ? David's throne is in Israel. It is speaking of God's government. That is why Jesus is called a Prince. If you read the ending chapter of Revelation. You will see that God with Jesus Christ will establish their government on earth. Then will soon spread all over the universe.
