Jesus suffered and took a beating for our sins. We should show ourselves so grateful for the gift that has been given us and for the fact that Jesus willingly suffered physical and mental pain so that we could be redeemed from sin and death.

The thought, the FACT that He paid the ultimate price for me....that's just overwhelming. As the hymn writer wrote, it
    Dissolves my heart in thankfulness
And melts my eyes to tears.
  • Carole Cahaney on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago

  • Sam Bogitini on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
I would like just to comment on verse 2. I always wondered what Jesus really look like. He "...hath no comeliness ..." "...no beauty that we should desire him.." This is a far cry from the one depicted in the paintings. Other scriptures depicted him as strong, bold and sometimes sarcastic and challenging. I LIKE THAT !!
  • Tifanay Phillips on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
reading the passage concerning Isaiah 3 has opened up a whole new view of what God did for mankind thru his son Jesus. I feel so much appreciation to God for considering my st backs , down falls, sickness, and failures. God deserves all praise for the marvelous thing he has done in Christ Jesus
  • Martin Mason on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
The commentary help me very much it explain a lot for me.
  • Ray Hill on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
The most compelling aspect of Isiah 53 is that it is such a perfect description of Jesus, the Messiah and has been completely REMOVED from the Torah. This is a fulfillment of scripture as it gives reason to why the Jews continue to be blinded. Scripture also tells us that in the end times their blindness will be lifted! Soon, they will declare " Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord".
  • Peter on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
this is the most precise and accurate account of the sufferings of Christ predicted some 600 years before Christ who came to give His life for us as pre-planned by God the father for our full and complete salvation. The embodiment of Christ of His mission, purpose and conclusion all in one for our full salvation.

Jesus is the Great shepherd of the sheep : and I am one of those sheep of His pasture : I from time to time go astray : The Good shepherd my Good shepherd always will draw me back into Him by letting me know where I have strayed : I acknowledge my sin and get forgiveness and He carries me back into the fold. God is so Good to me . I know I don't deserve His Goodness but because Jesus was willing to take on all my sin : I have hope and a part in His resurrected life . Praise God for His Great love !!!!
  • JIC on Isaiah 53 - 8 years ago
Look at all the Prophecy in Isaiah 53 about what is going to happen to Jesus. How many hundreds of years was Isaiah 53 written before Christ was even born. This alone proves what 2Timothy 3:16 KJV says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
