Thank you. That happened to me 35 years ago, as a new Christian. The Lord helped me, every step I took. All I knew, was to run to the Cross.

The Devil is jealous because the Lord has covered us completely with love, mercy and Grace.

1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

Keep quoting scripture. Do not listen to anything they say. Confusion is normal. When you feel fear and confusion you can guarantee it is an evil spirit. In the NT they spoke often when they saw Jesus. Also look for anything in your life like unforgiveness and other rebellion in your heart. Repent immediately. We should be repenting regardless. However never forget Lucifer is created and still ultimately a servant of God as are his underlings.

Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and giuen him a Name which is aboue euery name: 10That at the Name of Iesus euery knee should bow, of things in heauen, and things in earth, and things vnder the earth: 11And that euery tongue should confesse, that Iesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

He can speak in an audible voice.

    Eg.

    1. When Jesus Christ was tempted by Satan in the wilderness, Satan spoke with Him audibly.

And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread. Luke 4:3

    2. Satan spoke with Eve audibly. Gen 3:1
  • Ephesians 6 Reality - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 1 year ago
If you feel fear, confusion, temptation, it could be an evil spirit. The one time I heard a voice (they're invisible) it quoted scripture. I refused what it said.

Check your home for any forgotten items that evil spirits might hope you'll be entangled with again; and destroy those things. Acts 19:19.

Memorize Ephesians 6. "They are invisible."

Be quick to plead the blood of Jesus. They don't bother blood bought children of God.

I had alot of push back from them. I found, that even if you can't speak it out, ALL OF HEAVEN can hear your screaming born again spirit. Angels will be dispatched.

I'm saying this because I don't know if this is a one-time creepy event or more.

You are beloved in the Son, Jesus. Be encouraged.

I would say "Yes" because he did so to tempt Eve and he did so to Jesus to tempt Jesus in the wilderness.

    Isaiah 42:3, Matthew 12:17-23

    Isaiah 42:5, to John 1:1,

Hopefully this helps you in your understanding.

I've been a street preacher 36 years. I mean no offense but not everyone in this forum is a scholar.

Maybe they are baby Christians, or not even saved yet, but kinda thinking about it. They may be visiting today.

I love ever one of God's names; and every one of Jesus's names too! Each one is precious and to be Praised with a loud voice.

If I was on a street corner talking to a kid on a bike, with all his worldly possessions in a backpack; who had been tossed out of his home by alcoholic parents

They need something more to comfort them. God is their Father, and will be their Abba; by receiving His son as their Savior.

    God bless.

We recognize there is a whole church out there which stake it's claim on the name Jehovah. Here's the largest problem with that word. It is not Ancient Hebrew, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, Old French, Old German nor Old English. In other words, every language in which Bible has been interpreted through in origin cannot render J nor V until the renaissance (1500s or so). The Bible was already thousands of years old and never use J nor V in any ancient text. There is a Pharisee out there deceiving many by trying to make this fit but we have the Dead Sea Scrolls dating to as early as 300 B.C. with even entire books such as the Isaiah scroll of about 25 feet in length which never renders a J nor a V even once. There is no overturning that. One may ignore it but let us not pretend they would be interested in the truth. Yahuah is his name they use This leads us to the name of Messiah as the first 3 letters YHW or YAHU as set by Yahuah. Yes, He literally meant He came in His Father's name.

Even though the Scrolls of the Bible were written in Hebrew, Greek; and translations into other languages; the King James Bible has been found to be the most accurate.

Knowing that we try to reply in comments that are understood. Many people provide the scriptures they are discussing. Any person can look up a verse by Google in languages other than English.

The search engine on this website will quickly bring up every verse in the King James Version of the Bible. Just type it in the Search Box on the red page.

I do realize some religions change verses with Jesus's name in it; to Jehovah.

I use Google if I want to view an explanation of a verse in Hebrew or the Aramaic version.
  • Bill Hyman on Isaiah 42 - 2 years ago
My KJV Bible does not mention the name Jehovah once in the New Testament and only 4 times in the Old Testament. Why is that?

As the letter "J" was not invented until the 16th century why does your church translate YHWH as Jehovah and how can you be sure how the name should be pronounced and does it matter as different languages use different spelling and pronunciation?

Are you aware that the name given by an angel to his mother, Mary, for her son was Yeshua?

    Hello,

Well I guess you can pick whichever one you perceive it as I guess. All I can say is the Holy Ghost is Spirit as I'm sure you know. Whom is sent from the Father in the name of Christ as it is written.

Why would you think I have that kind of answer?
  • S Spencer - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
Does he and himself in this verse speaks of a force/Influence or a divine person?

John 16:13. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of ""HIMSELF;""but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
  • Adam - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
The verse clearly says the 3 are one. How do you interpret that?
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
    Hello Star,

As I really can't speak for anyone but myself but I don't think anyone here believes in God being more than One. As you are not the only person but many people have a problem with the Father, Son(Word), and Holy Ghost. Being three but of One. Then saying you agree with verse ( 1 John 5:7 but not three persons is very confusing.

Maybe just one question I would start with is John 16:13. How could the Spirit of Truth(Holy Ghost) "not speak of Himself but whatsoever He shall hear" if it were the same "person". That verse would be an oxymoron. Along with many others of Jesus Christ(The Word) praying to God the Father along with God the Father speaking from Heaven down unto Jesus Christ numerous times.

So you saying "Definitely not and never" but agree with verse ( 1 John 5:7 could you please explain your view? Thank you.
  • Star - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
I absolutely agree w the verse but it is not 3 persons. Never!
  • Adam - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
It's clearly stated in the Bible. Link I believe what God says over what a flawed human being says.
  • Star on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
I will say it again Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. Not 3 persons. Definitely not!

Alex comments about Isaiah 42 th Elect, the Promised ones,Jesus neva refered to any man as the Elect, the Promised one. He only refered to the H.G. as PROMISED ONE. Simply b/c we were all born by the will of some man. But its only the H.G. that is born by the will of God in humanity. Thats y we must be bornagain of an incorruptible seed even by the words of God, thats y he said that which is born of the SPIRIT IS SPIRIT thats our new innerman the H.G. his name sake that is not born of flesh nor of the will of man, nor of blood but only by the WILL OF GOD IN OUR HEARTS via that good seed etc. The H.G. is not a flesh and blood being and he is only born by the will of God in mans hearts and he is the ELECT the PROMISE CHILD The multiplIcation of CHRIST, THAT WAS THE PROMISE THAT CHRIST WD BE MULTIPLIED AS THE STARS OF HEAVEN THUS THE H.G IS TRULY THE ELECT, THE CHILD OF PROMISE.And he and only he shall judge the world as Jesus said when he the Spirit of truth is come he will reprove the world of sin and judgement and righteousness etc.All the animals in Isaiah 11 is humanity the lil child that leads them is the H.G. ( the babes and sucklings ) ARE HIS CHILDREN THAT ARE GONA LEAD US INTO ALL TRUTH. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain ( the H.G. ) The kingdom of God,Unless you receive the Kingdom of God as a lil Child you will in no wise enter there in. Knowledge shall cover the earth as the waters cover the seas thus there shall be no more seas of humanity without the knowledge of God. I will KNOW them all from the least to the greatest IMPLING A BIRTH OF CHRIST IN US. GB

    Kat-

I am concerned about you saying"it didn't matter what name I called him by" " I don't care what his name be called" many other religions apart from Christianity have their own names for their own 'gods' Their god could be Buddha, Allah, Gaia etc. and they call him / it , Lord god. would you respond if anyone call you by a name other than your own name ? No you wouldn't. Neither would The Almighty God , The Son and The Holy Spirit.

Kat, this is not to criticize but to point out, in the love of Christ, a crucial error made by many.

    Your sister in Jesus Christ

Thank you for your testimony. It is a lot like mine. We thank God for Jesus! Amen.
  • Chris - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
Very true, Kat. For those of us who have come out of the 'world', we truly appreciate the great measure of Grace afforded us to be drawn to Jesus & given faith to believe in the finished work of the Cross. I think of Luke 7:37,38, which tells about a woman overtaken in much sin, who went to meet Jesus to wash His Feet with her tears (of contrition & repentance) & then to anoint them with oil. Jesus recognized this act of repentance & devotion, as He said (v 47) & I paraphrase: "the one who is forgiven much, loves much".

And I know, that so many of us fall into this category as we have been saved from much sin & shame. And yes, if only we could turn the clock back, to have had the extra time to know & love the Lord more, instead of wasting it on sinful & vain pursuits. I came out of a very deep sinful lifestyle in the Air Force, but the Lord's Spirit met me one evening in my quarters & brought me to my knees as I agonized over my sin & a horrible eternity. The work of Grace was instantaneous, so much so, that my tears of repentance did not have time to dry as the joy of salvation became evident on my face. I would've looked a real sight! But such is the Work of God & we who read your testimony also rejoice with you in your salvation & new freedom to live by His Power & Love.

Thank you Chris. I wished I was able to turn back to Christ sooner. I couldn't from my own strength. But God is Good! Amen
  • Chris - In Reply on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
Thanks Kat for that great testimony of the Lord's Work in your life. And how it took an almost death experience to compel you to drop to your knees & cry out to Him for forgiveness. This is the Lord's Work & it is marvellous in our eyes. His Spirit always had His Eyes on you, never letting you go, & waiting for the right time to alert you to your real needs. Spend time in His Holy Word & in praise & prayer. There is nothing that can be compared to a child of God adoring & communing with her Heavenly Father. The Lord be with you always.
  • Kat Young on Isaiah 42 - 3 years ago
I love it! because I know the Lord, God, or Jehovah, for myself. I don't care what his name should be called. I love the Lord. He saved me from myself three years ago. I was a backslider, years and years had passed. I didn't have a will to get right, not even wanting to do right. I loved God as a young child. I gave my life to him when I was only 11 years of age. When I turned 14 years old, I went a stray. My own mother was not able to reach me. Just three years ago June 13, 2017 I took ill, I thought I was going to die. Then as I fell on my knees and started praying, I called out Lord help me. He did just that. It didn't matter what name I called him by. He saved me! and forgave me. Amen
