Isaiah Chapter 4 Discussion

Because most Churches are infiltrated "by" the erroneous, and either misinterpret, or don't understand it, and are most likely of the belief that women should be silent in church; when in fact the seven women in the verse "In that day" are God's Elect; In that day i.e day of Judgement, the Tribulation. IMO
  • Adam - In Reply on Isaiah 4 - 1 year ago
Hi Jon, can you share more about what you mean by existence and what bad practices you're seeing in the church?
  • David - In Reply on Isaiah 4 - 1 year ago
Jon. Most times because people even so called Christian's don't really

Believe God's Word it's more like mental accent or just something to do

Then taken to heart and with humility changing to that which is true. Also

Most people believe the Goodness of God but not the absolute evil one

    Or his practices.
  • Jon Esqueda on Isaiah 4 - 1 year ago
Why,. Aren't gospel churches talking directly to this " existence?". During the service, at meetings to ...be rid of the satanic influence and erroneous practices!? God be with us all.
  • Anthony DiValentin on Isaiah 4:1 - 2 years ago
Look at the symbolism. In Revelation, there are 7 (types of) churches left. Women symbolize the church. The Messiah is coming back for His bride, the church, for example. So 7 churches will be trying to preach their own message (the bread they break), and clothing is symbolic of righteousness. We are told later in Revelation one of the 7 churches thinks it is perfect when it is really naked and blind. So these churches will want to preach their own version of "

scripture", and they will believe they are clothed in righteousness, but they are wrong in their doctrines and therefore will call on Messiah to cover their inequities in His name.

In other words, there wiill be many churches in the end times all saying they are correct and right, when in reality, none of them are, but as long as they include His name, they think they will be covered. He will tell them He never knew them - nominal Xtians.

Sheri, the Spirit has graced you with his wisdom and understanding. Most don't understand that THE DAY OF THE LORD has been going on for 2000 years.

Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in THAT DAY, saith the Lord God, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in a clear day.

Matthew 27:45 And from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Joel 2:31 The sun shall be turned in darkness, and the MOON into blood, BEFORE the terrible DAY OF THE LORD come.

Psalm 89:36 It (his seed, Christ) shall be established for ever as the MOON, and as a faithful witness in heaven.

Revelation 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is my FAITHFUL WITNESS......

John 19:34 .....and forthwith came there out blood and water.....

Zachariah 14:7 IT SHALL BE ONE DAY which shall be known to the Lord, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass at evening time it shall be light.

It still isn't light and 2000 years has already passed.

The Spirits grace continue upon you.

In this dark day of the LORD all congregations and World are under judgement...yet God is feeding his people through his Word.

In that day (Day of the LORD), seven women (fullness of earthly congregations), do not want God's Word (bread) but want to be called by his name (Christian).

    __________________________

Isaiah 4:1 And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying, We will eat our own bread, and wear our own apparel: only let us be called by thy name, to take away our reproach.

2In that day shall the branch of the LORD be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and comely for them that are escaped of Israel.

3And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:

4When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment, and by the spirit of burning.

I felt lead to go back to chapter 3 to get a fuller understanding because in 4th chapter verse 1 it said, AND....

I believe this is literal. Women having a desperate need and desire to marry for protection and covenant as it should be. Chapter 3 speaks about the haughtiness of women relying on their seduction and the things that they wear and their beauty that becomes curses. It states that their scalps shall have scabs and become bald. This is truly this day..so many women are wearing weaves wigs, & extensions... and their personalities are being altered, relying on their beauty instead of inner strength from the Most High...

So the day is coming and has come that we will become mournful and lament of our sins and wanting the Covenant that the Most High had given us- A man's love and a woman's faithfulness, as Christ is to the Church. She will find that the woman should be behind her man(NOT Being dominant) but protective because of this day that is surely coming he will be a warrior fighting for his family. and not her beside him less he will become to fight in anger should something happens to her...iIn YAH'S WISDOM he will get her love, support and nurture in the midst of wartime. Many women will find out them being self-sufficient, it is and will not be enough....

Isiah 4:1 has double implication, physically and spiritually. Israel was just coming from war where many of the men were killed. today, by population, in the world today, we have excess women which may imply many women clinging to a man. this verse happened in real life in Israel.

Spiritually, seven is a mark of perfection, women represents church. the church is suppose to be perfect though. The church today says let us bear your name, we will have our own doctrine, our own style of worship!!!. We heal in your name, we preach in your name..... depart from me ye workers of iniquities, I know you not.!!!
  • Joshua on Isaiah 4 - 5 years ago
Today's woman of the world identifies with complete autonomy and independence from the authority of any man. Yet in spite of all this "equality" , for many women , the absence of any biological miracle of giving birth is still a reproach not necessarily in the eyes of a sinful society but to many not all women themselves who would love to bear children hence they still need a man .
  • Maude Fratcher on Isaiah 4 - 6 years ago
It is true that in scripture, that a woman represents a church.Depending on her description, whether she is faithful and pure, obedient to God and Christ, or unfaithful, fallen, apostat, disobedient to God and Christ. Is her beauty from the character she has learned from knowing and spending time with her creator, and savior Jesus,or is it superficial, not coming from an intimate relationship withJesus.
  • BENJAMIN IN SIAYA COUNTY on Isaiah 4 - 7 years ago
I have been wondering what "seven women" has to do with the Bible. Thanks for the interpretation of the word..in deed the word "women" symblozes the "church" and or christians who want to retain their identity as such but not willing to meet the special conditions attached to the calling....
  • God's Chosen on Isaiah 4 - 7 years ago
Women used to be happy to serve at home with their husbands children create make homes as God had ordained, but because most of our men got out of their place, women have had to step up be in that lead role so them their children can survive. It is what it is. Just serve God will your whole heart and trust in Him, walk in the Spirit and in the truth of the Word and you will be just fine!
  • God's Chosen on Isaiah 4 - 7 years ago
God gave me, when I read this years ago, that this is the prophecy of Women's Liberation where women want to be and do their own thing and we will only marry you and take on your name to keep away the shame because a single woman past a certain age was frowned upon in those days. We are living in that day and that time!

  • Alan on Isaiah 4 - 7 years ago
The failure of the " matriarchal society " will have come to an end as prefaced in chapter 3! This is described as a reference in Ezekiel 8 "women weeping for Tammuz, i.e. Christmas and Easter as doctrines of sun worship masqueraded as celebrations to the Messiah in todays pagan world! The old testament men of valor had many wives, i.e. Gideon had 70 wives, etc.
  • Joshua Glynns Chikukwa Dhliwayo on Isaiah 4:1 - 8 years ago
Seven women are Churches as in Revelation...they only wants to be called Christians whilst they have put aside the Law of Him whom they claim to be his. That's what happening today, many claims to be Christians but don't want to keep Christ's Commandments as He commanded at John 14:15 ''If you love me, keep my commandments''
  • Dennis Cordy on Isaiah 4 - 8 years ago
This is Gods word fufilled in ancient time. Christ fufilled all things thru his blood. Animal sacrafice no longer needed. Jesus will take away our reproach. The book of Revalations is the unveiling of Christ that is his Revalation fufilled. We will all have to pass thru the fire which God will supply at the right moment in time his time. Then their will be no more time as we know it. Truly this will be a Glorious day Amen!!!
  • Reverine James Sambo on Isaiah 4:1 - 8 years ago
The verse is more than clear. We do not to suppose that the 7 women are the Churches. How can a Church say we will clothe ourselves. This is very evident as to what is happening these days where they are many unmarried women than men. There is a great decreament of the number of men as some of them die in wars. When you even consider a birth-rate women in comparison to men, we find that many girls are born world-wide than men.
  • Washicd on Isaiah 4:1 - 9 years ago
"...seven women... " - the word used here is women, virgins is not used here. It seems evident that these 'women ' self identify as reproachful, or maybe unfaithful illegitimate. These people churches were not faithful to the Truth God, Jesus .
  • Harycollins on Isaiah 4 - 9 years ago
In this chapter of Isaiah,God was telling his people of what the situation is going to be like after he has finished dealing with them .
  • CLINT on Isaiah 4:1 - 9 years ago
I think there are at least two meanings, first the natural of women in that day not wanting to be unmarried and childless, and spiritual, meaning many people will not abide by the words of JESUS nor accept his righteousness by faith, but want to be called a christian.
  • REDONDA on Isaiah 4 - 9 years ago
the Lord shall judge his people the Lord shows His people. judgment through the blood of Jesus he provides a way for usto be cleansed and in churches we have shelter.
  • God'girl on Isaiah 4 - 10 years ago
I think its natural because in the preceding chapter it talks of Israel 's reproach by its people. I think its saying Israel will continually be in war and will lose each war because the y have forgotten their God, and so many of their men will die, until there won 't be enough for the women. So mant that one man can have 7 women.
  • Japhet on Isaiah 4 - 10 years ago
Seven women symbolise seven churches; eachone following her own way according to own understanding of the word of God but all claiming to follow one husband{Jesus Christ} for their salvation( without reproach)!
  • P.Samuel on Isaiah 4 - 10 years ago
How the Church(7womens)will tell we will eat our bread, and we will wear own shelter take our reproach? all the churches in this world is one universal church it is compared to 1 women there is mentioned 7 womens and JESUS CHRIST has shed his blood and made it pure, now church is without reproach, if JESUS CHRIST has shed his blood how can the church(womens)tells take our reproach?
  • Bongiwe on Isaiah 4:1 - 10 years ago
I think it means there are so many church who are against the bible ,who do things which are not biblically authorised so they are hiding by jesus name to deceive many souls because according to the bible a woman symbolises a church.
  • Moki on Isaiah 4 - 10 years ago
What chapter 1 to 4 says seem to be happening right now. Isaiah 1 to 4 we will see a new sexual disease and people revolting and our right being taken away like in sodomon and gonaarah. Chapter 1 says they will burn from the inside a new sexual disease .i had a dream they all have to come to jesus. this happen then and is going to happen now
  • Balpu Guri Sangma on Isaiah 4 - 10 years ago
"Seven women shall take hold of one man"- it implies that in that day seven women will ask a man to marry them, and assuring that they would not ask for food and clothes but" only let us be called by thy name"-these women are eager to be married to a man just to take away their reproach.
