Yes indeed, this book of Isaiah is telling us today that our lengthy fasting and prayers, fat offering and tithes of any amount, though very good and important, are not as important as obedience to the call to be sincere, truthful and dependent to the what ever God requires from us at any given point in time.It aslo tells that all these good things without repentance is wasting of time.if we need revival in our lives and wants our prayers to be accepted by God we need to repent from the evil of our doings
  • Pompy on Isaiah 1 - 10 years ago
God is calling all the people who are called by his name unto holiness to repent from their wandering and hypocrisy of worship and life He is definitely not pleased with it Instead of holiness they resort to big offerings and works which are vain without adherence to the word and will of God Repentance is the message
  • Naomi on Isaiah 1:18 - 10 years ago
God is a poet He gently invites communion back to Him with love peace and tenderness He demonstrates that He truly is a gentleman Slow to anger and patient for relationship His words paint a portrait in my mind as an artist expresses himself on blank canvas God truly is beautiful in mind and spirit alone apart from visualization

  • Dickson-zimbabwe on Isaiah 1:3 - 10 years ago
I think this is refering to the intimacy relationship with God, deep understand of Him.Remember God is not happy about ox and donkeys knowing the owner more us people knowing him.Actually God was angry that the ox and the donkey had the best knowledge about their owner.

Literally it means people have got to shift to a better level of knowing God and even to know our source as christians. That's why the bible talks about the parteking at the Lord's table and devil's table.
This goes a long way of giving God his position as God in your life and consider him as Lord rather than a partial knowledge of him.

    God bless you

I am a true product of God endless Love and Faithfulness. When i remember how He set me free from lusts i truly believe He can do it for anyone who is willing to accept His forgiveness. If God did not spare His only Son but gave Him up for a wretch like me, it is obvious He can do it for everyone that believe. The Bible says in 1 John 1 verse 9" If we confess our sins, He is just and faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

  • TherOLvia on Isaiah 1:18 - 10 years ago
We serve a God who is faithful and just and we can go to Him without fear. He knows all about me so when I come to Him, I can set at His feet and He embrace me and I am made whole there is no condemnation. I know that even when everything comes up against me. I have a God that will forgive me and wash me and I will become more in Love with Him. I have nothing to fear. True repentance.

MANKIND HAS STRAYED FAR FROM THE LAW AND THE JEWISH PEOPLE STILL REJECT GODS SON AS BEING THE TRUE MESSIAH THEY REFUSE AND CONFORM TO TRADITION OF OLD JEWISH PRACTITION IF ONLY THEY KNEW THAT NO ONE COMES UNTO THE FATHER EXCEPT BY WAY OF THE SON JOHN3:16 THEY ARE PRAYING TO THE CEILING BECAUSE THATS AS HIGH AS THEY REACH GODS LITERALY SICK AT THE PRIDE AND ARROGANCE AND THE APPEARENCE OF RELIGION GOD IS NOT LISTENING IN FACT IT LITERALY MAKES HIM SICK JUST LIKE SODAM AND GOMORRGH ITS AN OBOMMINATION....
  • Becky on Isaiah 1:3 - 10 years ago
When catastrophies and trouble hit a nation, all we hear is "it is that group's fault, it's global warming's fault, it's Bush's fault". The sad thing is, the very same words are said among christian. They do not know and have not considered that it could be our lack of repentance and bowing our knee is prayer as America did years ago when trouble came to the county. A call for prayer and repentance was sent out. God saw that we acknowledged Him and blessed our land. It is not so today. We are wise in our own conceits. God is calling for repentance, not just in America but worldwide.
  • Jason on Isaiah 1:13 - 10 years ago
This is how most churches of God are today, they serve the creature rather than the Creator. Full of religion and tradition and the pastor is proud and arrogant. They teach doctrine rather than the Kingdom of Christ. They praise me with their lips but their hearts are far from me. Get out of religion and man made traditions and serve Christ in truth and in spirit.Amen!!
  • Mzukisi Mali on Isaiah 1:16 - 10 years ago
Be humble at all and put your troubles to Him because he saved you.
  • Simon on Isaiah 1:18 - 10 years ago
This is one of the scriptures that speaks of God's endless faithfulness, mercy and love for His people, especially those who have received Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is very reassuring for God's people that whatsoever our sinful state is God though Christ is faithful, merciful and loving enough to forgive and cleanse us of all our sins. AMEN!!
  • Bartholomew Crews on Isaiah 1 - 10 years ago

  • Siloam kwasi prah on Isaiah 1:18 - 10 years ago
God calls his children to come back to him. Even if our sins are red God will make us pure. Just like the prodigal son,God will accept us back when we decide to come back to Him.
  • Ben oyaro on Isaiah 1 - 10 years ago
In verse 11. God is not pleased by empty outward human show. We should not, with empty physical shows, strive to please God. We should be genuine in worship and in sacrifice.
  • Ikechukwu Chiyem on Isaiah 1:18 - 10 years ago
Isaiah 1:18 - Here, God is calling us as His children to come and discusse with Him. He is a faithful father who always want us back to himself, so He is drawing us back to Himself again. Not minding we have wronged Him in the time past. GOD'S LOVE IS ENDLESS.
