The Bible says much about vows and oaths. I believe you made a promise, which is different as Psalm 76:11 indicates.

Here is this websites commentary on That scripture:

    Redeemer.

7-12 God's people are the meek of the earth, the quiet in the land, that suffer wrong, but do none. The righteous God seems to keep silence long, yet, sooner or later, he will make judgment to be heard. We live in an angry, provoking world; we often feel much, and are apt to fear more, from the wrath of man. What will not turn to his praise, shall not be suffered to break out. He can set bounds to the wrath of man, as he does to the raging sea; hitherto it shall come, and no further. Let all submit to God. Our prayers and praises, and especially our hearts, are The Presents we should bring to the Lord. His name is glorious, and he is the proper object of our fear. He shall cut off the spirit of princes; he shall slip it off easily, as we slip off a flower from the stalk, or a bunch of grapes from the vine; so the word signifies. He can dispirit the most daring: since there is no contending with God, it is our wisdom, as it is our duty, to submit to him. Let us seek his favour as our portion, and commit all our concerns to him.

    Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

I don't know what you vowed or promised, so I cannot say more. I think you should have a meeting with your Pastor and pray about this. Get this off your chest, so-to-speak.

    2Timothy chapter 4 verses 3,4

If it's not found in the scriptures it's a fable . And if the scriptures are not very defined and accurate don't twist them into something it's not saying . With out the Holy Spirits guidance you may very well end up with some corruption of the word of God .

Those that corrupt the word of God are more than those that do not . Even in Apostle Paul's time . So most are false teachers and today we have armies of them .

Read the bible for yourself seek the truth . Amen !

God is faithful unto all Generations. His word endured for ever ! Jesus is Risen and coming again be ready !

Hello, yes, you will be forgiven if you follow Jesus. But under grace we still are accountable for our actions. Jesus asks us to avoid sin. Jesus says in the way we forgive others we will also be forgiven. Read Matthew 18.
  • Patricia England on Hebrews 9:14 - 3 years ago
If a Christian makes a promise to GOD and does not keep it but continually repents for making that promise will GOD forgive them? The promise was made while in excruciating pain.

Is Paul being obtuse with his criticism of Moses, Aaron and the One True God, El Shaddai, who is not divided or dissected , but rather obeyed. He is at once a Gid of mercy and a Gid of retribution. In my mind, Paul mangles what Jesus represented, which is thorough understanding and unrelenting obedience to Torah, which is the Word of God firsthand. Who can u understand Paul as he twists and I think mangles the word with subjective ruminations. The thesis that only adoration of Jesus is sufficient action needed for Salvation. That word is never mentioned in the Torah. It is a Chrisian construct entirely. Meanwhile, in these ladder days, instead of keeping a critical watch on what we are ad human beings, all they need do is smile a meekish smile and cite Jesus's name over and over to feel vindicated from the wellspring of evil in their hearts.

Matthew 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Two questions. First explain Ezekiel 18? And how did king David receive forgiveness? No one can die for your sins, so I guess there is 3 forgiveness comes through what? Only explain in tanakh. Ok

Is it not then also possible that the second covenant may be broken by transgressions?

"For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things..." Hebrews 10:1...looking ahead we see that the law was at best, a shadow, a figure, a type, with things on earth pre-shadowing both our lives as saints, and our lives in eternity. Chapter 9 is revealing how the types and shadows interact with the tabernacle and temple in light of our NT lives and living.

"It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these." The OT reveals in figures and patterns, the reality we live today in Christ Jesus. You must read Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy to find figures and patterns of those things we experience today, and will experience in heaven.

This passage tells us that Moses ENJOINED Israel to the law ( BOOK ). Israel was MARRIED to the law and it continued into the early church, Thats y Paul is saying you are dead to the law by the body of Christ that you should be MARRIED to another even to him that was raised from the DEAD. BUT THIS SPRITUAL LOVE TRIANGLE ANSWERS TO David,Bathsheba, Uriah. the kingdom coming by a 2 nd Child TH H.G.

Louis (cont.); In the world of the beginning, what was it that caused the whole world to be corrupted and filled with violence and utterly WORTHLESS; so that ALL that God could do was to destroy everyone and everything, and start over with Noah and his sons? It was the sons of God the ones who HAD the knowledge of God and hardened their hearts and turned away from His Spirit of the Law and Christ!
  • A disciple on Hebrews 9 - 6 years ago
Louis; Could you please explain in your own words, and your own understanding, how it is impossible to keep the Law and be a Christian at the same time? Interestingly, the Lord Himself said that the Law and the Prophets wouldn't pass even up to as far as if the heaven and earth passed away! And since when does someone who completes his schooling then have to condemn and forsake all he's learned?

I know a man who believes in and confessed to follow the whole bible, the law of Moses as well as the law of Christ. This is vast ignorance and is impossible. He is immovable in his unjustified beliefs.

I believe that when the Bible say's it is appointed unto man once to die, it is not referring to a physical death because Lazarus died twice, Enoch never died and neither did Elijah (as examples) I believe it is referencing a soul death. Ezekiel 18:20 states that the soul that sinneth, it shall die..thus the need for man to be "born again", that's my interpretation based on what God's tells me
  • Ron on Hebrews 9 - 6 years ago
There are plenty of people who die twice, Lazarus, the widow's son, the young maiden. All three were stone cold dead and were resurrected to live out their lives and die a second time. The Lord Jesus Christ died ONCE NEVER TO DIE AGAIN!. There is a difference. All those at the final judgement died physically and spiritually once and will die a second time never to see God again, EVER!

And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

  • Myree on Hebrews 9 - 8 years ago
Why is it so many people who say they have die and come back to tell what they saw after being dead??? I just where a person they said was dead in the hospital - but woke up to say he had been to hell and saw satan's eyes.
The bible doesn't teach that, and Christ died only once for all.
Hebrew 9: 27-28 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Are you Jewish? Are you a Hebrew? Words mean things! Paul IS the Apostle to the Gentiles. Therefore the Pauline Letters are written to us Gentiles, the rest of the Bible is for OUR LEARNING! We today are saved by a FREE GIFT and sealed unto the Day of Redemption the moment we believe the Gospel in 1 Corin. 15 ...PERIOD! You are failing to 'Rightly Divide the Word of Truth'.
