My dear brothers and sisters, let us have a look from the prompt.. JESUS is of the tribe of Judah in Genesis 49:10, Micah 5:2, Matthew 2:6. He is Melchizedek in Hebrews 7 ( Genesis 14:18). What does it mean? Read Hebrews 7:2, he is a priest without being from the tribe of Levi.. but if you count any priest in the bible, all are by the tribe of Levi.. So what is the link in between Psalms 110:4 and Hebrews 5:10... both didn't come from the tribe of Levi. Therefore what should be the consequence? Read Hebrews 7:11-18.. So we should be aware of this simple oracle.. as in Hebrews 5:12.

As the high priest was ordained to offer sacrifices to God and for himself in Old Testament times, Hebrews Chapter 5 also enjoins all to get immersed in the Word so that we can graduate from being a suckling (needing milk, and therefore, unskilfull in the word of righteousness - verse 13), to someone chewing meet (which belongeth to them that are full of age, and with senses to discern between good and evil - verse 14). Today, we may not have High Priests like in the Old Testament days, the idea here is that if the word of God is deeply rooted in us, then, perhaps we also become priests too, according to the order of Melchisedek of old...

As in Old testament times, the high priest who was human, not only offered up sin sacrifces for the people, but for himself. Christ, our high priest was without sin being made perfect, and offered up himself for our sins, he is the spotless, passover lamb of God, having no blemishes.
He is our mediator, intercessor, pleading with God on our behalf, he knew what it was like to be human, to be hungry, thirsty, tired and tempted, ...for he was tempted on all points as we are, with the lust of the eyes, lust of the flesh, and pride of life, ....tempted, but without sin, unto the death!
He is the Alpha and Omega, the Author and finisher of our faith and being the high priest in the order of Melchesadec, he is a high priest in the orderof the King of Righteousnes!

The Apostle offers us the strong meat of the Word in this Chapter. But we are not attuned to it owing to our focus on human and not spiritual things. He says we must be exercised in the recognition of good and evil so that we can choose to do the right thing and find favor with God. He gives us free will because He wants to know who will be his children and accept him as their Father in truth, absolutly, believing even though we haven't seen with fleshly eyes what Moses and Jesus saw plainly while in the flesh. Jesus spoke of it continually because he was a high priest after the order of Melchisidec, who is without father or mother, beginning or end, for there is no lineage stated for him in the Bible as there is for every other person in the bible except Adam. Jesus was such a high priest even though he was born of woman. He is therefor not unfamiliar with our plight and quickly guides us down the staightest way thru this world and into the next, which is the eternal truth and way that he himself was partaker of.

From this chapter it reveals that just as the high priest was chosen on earth according to the laws that God has given to Israelite priest to sacrifice on behalve of the individuals sins for forgiveness, like wise God the Father has chosen His Son as the promised One to be our High Priest(verse 5,6). As High Priest He is our intersecor for forgiveness when we have sinned and our saviour to help us when we are tempted, for it is written "We can do all things through Christ which strenghen us". Verse 7 show us the relationship between Him and His Father Jesus is that to us as our High Priest. We too can come to Him with or tears and supplications for He will hear us. Christ too were odedient to His Father even to death, so with us, we too can we have the same relationship as He has had with His Father on earth.Verse 8,9 shows that He too suffered being obedient to His Father, but He knew that if He follow perfect in the will off His Father He will save Him.Verse 9 shows us the result of His quest,"He became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey Him".We do not need to ask an earthly priest for forgivness and help in our daily life only our Savior and High Priest Jesus Christ.
