    Vs. 11

Many people believe faith to be a blind trust. However, the definition the Bible gives shows that it is based on solid evidence. We can trust the promises that Jehovah God has made in the Bible. We have many examples that shows he is a God of his word. He will put an end to wickedness, and he will allow the righteous to inherit the earth.
  • Daniel on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
Faith, believing with all we have mind, body and soul anything is possible through the word of God. Christ said having faith a grain of mustard seed, you could command a mountain to move and so it shall be done. Without faith hope is not provided proper justice.
  • Sylvia on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
    To Lily,
We don't have to work hard to seek GOD's approval. We must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him. Without faith it's impossible to please him. Obey God and trust in HIS word.
  • Irene123 on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
To Jackie Phillips - You are the 1st person I've ever seen make an 'Olympic event' out of Bible scripture.
    How did you do that?
  • Lily on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
Verse 6 helps us to see that earnestly and diligently seeking Jehovah God means that we have to work very hard if we want his approval
  • Karl on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
to Harry, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for", submission to GOD's will, in faith. As opposed to "with faith is the substance of things hoped for", a selfish faith seeking one's own will. True faith must begin with submission to the LORD. Man's will must yield to the LORD, not the LORD to man's will. (hope that helps?)
  • Harry Bokaba on Hebrews 11 - 7 years ago
Why it starts with a phrase that goes now faith is the substance of things hoped for not with faith is substance of things hoped for

The Book of Hebrews has been, at times, a source of strength and comfort for me. When the trials of life seem harder than usual; when death has surrounded me; when the love of friends and family seems to have fled, studying and memorizing from Hebrews chapter 11 has led me back to the wonder of God's love.
  • Darrell on Hebrews 11 - 8 years ago
In verse 7 it says take nothing from Gentiles (or non-believers) Then you have verse 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth. Receive what We must be fellow helpers to spread the truth to all that will hear That take $
  • Lucinda Palestrant on Hebrews 11 - 8 years ago

Vanna, you say don't fight, it is just a bible that teaches us how to live. Read Jude 1:3, Job 13:8, 2 Corinthians 10:5, etc. God says FIGHT, you say don't. These verses teach us how we are to in part; live in faith, walk in truth, fight the good fight. Test the spirits with God's word.
  • Vanna on Hebrews 11 - 8 years ago
It does not matter it is just a bible that teaches us how we are to live. We do not need to fight over the bible. We are lukky to even have a guide.

While is tithe so much prounced in this day new generation churches that it was during the time of jesus? It is like we are today having commercial churches and pastors than people caring for their members salvation. The truth is that christ did not ask disciples to live by tithe or did the earlier aposples ask their followers to collect or live by tithe, my question is why now.

See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. - Deuteronomy 32:39 KJB

    That verse says...

If God wants me alive, I need no gun
If God wants me dead, a gun will do me no good

    That is faith.
  • MockingBird on Hebrews 11 - 8 years ago
Now Faith is Faith right now !!! Faith is a tangible force and can be taken hold of with our heart and believed in : I believe that I must have a word from God to be able to stand in Faith : I have it NOW which is His word : I hear from God every day when I pick up His word and read it . I read His word out loud , because Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
