Yes they are ''ministering spirits''...now most people are struggling to know if we have authority over angels.Well Jesus once said ''I am giving you authority over all spirits''...do you think, after that statement, that our authority is only limited to the authority over evil spirits?...i need an answer please.

Folks claim the Bible says Jesus is God. Really?
Why then do the scriptures proclaim --that God was over Jesus in authority. The power Jesus had was given to him by God. Jesus had no power except God GAVE it to him. Read the scriptures.

some people don't get it. JESUS IS GOD. who healed the sick and raised the dead. who said he is in the volume of the book.my god says he is a jealous god and who do we pray to, JESUS. in matthew 28;18 he says that he has ALL power on earth and in heaven. doesn't leave much power for anyone else does it. he opened the door for all gentiles to be saved. he made it possible to live under grace and not under the law. he has the name above all other names. in revelations it says JESUS [ the lamb ] is the only one worthy to open the book. it also says in revelations 22;4 that his name shall be in their foreheads. in exodus 3;14 god said to moses I AM THAT I AM. in john 8;58 JESUS said verily verily I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am. that doesn't sound like bad grammer to me, that sounds like god. one baptism; in the name of JESUS. I wonder why?

John 1:3ref; All things were made by HIM and without him was nothing made. The God Head is not a freak, It includes The FATHER,THE SON, AND THE HOLY GHOST, Each was there in the beginning, GOD says that HE is THEALPHA and the OMEGA.
  • Rev. Autrey on Hebrews 1 - 10 years ago
Verse 8: "But to his Son he says, 'Your throne, O God, entures forever and ever. ...'"

When we understand that the God of the Old Testament is Jesus this verse makes perfect sense. This is Jesus talking about himself. That is, he is saying that when he comes into the world to bear our sins he will call himself "the Son." So the Son and God are one and the same. If this is not so, then we have two Gods, and this can never be.

Further proof of this is seen in verse 10 where it says of the Son, "Lord (God), in the beginning you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands." Dosen't it say in John 1:3 that Jesus created everything there is, and that nothing exists that he didn't make?

What we are talking about is personality. God has three distinct personalities: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. But the personality through whom God always speaks to us is the Son Jesus. So what these verses are telling us is that the Son is God, or the way God speaks to us, and the way God made everything there is.

God bless you for considering this!

La santisima Trinidad es un misterio muy dificil de entender, entonces no se preocupen si Dios, el espiritu santo y Jesus son UNO o tres! But do worry about you being a helper, giver, and not a judger

I think the deity of Jesus is the attacked truth in the Bible. I have spent years trying to share this truth online with unbelievers and I must say, the unbelievers are easier to convince of Jesus' Deity, than the religious. Hebrews 8 is clear. God the Father is speaking. He is saying that His Son ( Jesus ) is God. And this is not the only verse which declares this. yet, though they read it, say it, see it, speak it, they refuse to believe it.

The entire opening and subsequent chapters make very clear that Jesus is not God Almighty and that he answers to and receives direction from his Father. As the one through whom all other things were created, Jesus is subordinate to his Father, whose name as revealed in the Bible is Jehovah

Any present prophet who does not get it from the Lord Jesys Christ is a wrong prophet. In these last days God has spoken through, by, and for his Son. The Holy Spirit takes from Jesus to deliver to us. Jesus does nothing except he sees the Father do it. Yes, God is still speaking today as ever before. Yes, the revelation of God was completed in Jesus Christ. Reconcile the two as you understand the role of the prophet today.

Had there not been an epistle such as the book of Hebrews, those who are bigoted with the worship of angels and other superstitions would have forever been deceived. Blessed be God that through this epistle shadows and types are completely done away with, so that the real substance will appear. Jesus Christ is hereby presented as the ultimate revelation of God, and nothing can be farther from the truth.
God bless the reader who is thus encouraged through these letters to drop his/her malice against the Gospel of Christ.

I think this is referring to Psalms 2:7 and is speaking of the glorification of Jesus (ref. Matthew 28:18) where all power in heaven and earth is given unto Jesus after His resurrection and glorification. In Luke chapter two the angels are praising God and they are not worshiping the newborn Son of man. They prophetically describe him as "Christ the Lord" but the angels do not worship the Son of man. Paul also connects Psalms 2:7 with the resurrection ( Acts 13:33) and not with the Bethlehemic birth.

"... has spoken to us through his Son." The last time God spoke to us in direct words was when he spoke to John in the Book of Revelation. Since then (for nearly 2000 years) we have no direct words from him. And we will not. What I mean is, the Bible is closed, and God will not add to it. It is his last Will and Testament, his last set of instructions to us before his return.

He said in Revelation 22 through John: "And I solemnly declare to everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book. If anyone adds anything to what is written here, God will add to that person the plagues described in this book."
Claiming to hear Jesus speak to us in direct words is the same as adding to this book!

Here is something, then, you should understand. If it is not Jesus speaking to people today, who is it? The point is, Satan often pretends to be Jesus so he can give a false message to God's people. As people of God, we should always be on guard against this.

Paul says the same thing about adding to or changing the Gospel in Galations 1. "Let God's curse fall on anyone, including myself, who preaches any other message than the one we told you about. Even if an angel comes from heaven and preaches any other message, let him be forever cursed."

Let me say it again, the Bible is closed, and Jesus is not adding to it by speaking to anyone today, not even ministers. If we want to know what God's will (Jesus' will) for us is, we must look to the Scriptures.

Success per excellence is a function of Holiness per purity. Be wholistically holy, pure and righteous; then Ps. 92:10 will now come to fulfilment (You {God} have exalted my horn like that of a unicorn, therefore my head is anointed with FRESH OIL). Fresh Oil of Holy Spirit; of joy unspeakable; of undeniable gladness.

God is a speaking God. He is always looking for us to relate and communicate. This is out of his innate love for his creatures

He spoke to us through Christ. in jesus we have a revelation of the divine. in Christ words, action and personality while on earth he was actually teaching and showing us what the divine nature looks like.

If I want to say the truth, the issue of making heaven at the end of our race here on earth is more than by prayer alone, but by forsaking ALL and coming to the throne of mercy, Romans 9:15-18. May you and I be there in Jesus name.
  • Gary S Smith on Hebrews 1 - 11 years ago
This chapter is emphasizing the majesty of Christ by showing he is greater than the angels. God did not say of the angels, "This day have I begotten thee." God is also showing the majesty of Christ to be greater than the prophets, "but in these last days has spoken unto us by his Son." In Chapter 3 God is showing the majesty of Christ to be greater than Moses.

    @Anthony,
One more thing; I would suggest you read the baptism of the Eunuch by Philip, in Acts 8:26-38, and see his reaction after the baptism. Thats the joy the Holy Spirit brings when we accept Christ.

    Comments on Hebrew Chapter 1
    @ Anthony,
It is a pleasure to go to this website and read the comments other people have regarding certain texts and topics from the Bible! But not too often I get amused by some commentators, and even rarer you get to read two sermons one right after the other, on the same theme. Its a mystery how they got printed In your case, I would venture to say that you and brother D are both going to the same church: perhaps as lay member, and pastor. Anthony, after you read Big Johns sermon on Trinity you write: Every1 speaks of the Trinity. I've never, ever read the word Trinity n the Bible. Please some1 help me find the verse that states, Trinity or Holy Trinity n bible. Thanks.
Now, since you are using this website, I dont believe youll have much trouble typing the word trinity in the search window, then press enter, and youll get the following statement: ... Sorry, we have no direct matches for your keyword at this time. On the right side though, you will find the following entries:
    Related Bible Terms:
    Trinity
    Related Bible Verse Topics:
    The Holy Trinity
    The Trinity
    Trinity
Click on The Holy Trinity, and you will be blessed with about one hundred Bible Verses About The Holy Trinity. Read them faithfully and prayerfully, and youll find plenty of proof about Trinity: God The Father, God The Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Forget about anybody else is saying on the subject. Brother D just needed a platform to talk about speaking in tongues. Unfortunately, his comments on that subject are so wrong. The first sign that you received the Holy Spirit IS NOT BABBLING, but a strong conviction that you are a sinner in need of a Redeemer, which is Jesus Christ, our God and Creator. This conviction will drive you to baptism with water: a symbol of death and resurrection with Christ, and the beginning of a new life in Him, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Agape

In Hebrews 1, it is not a matter of who God is? I was reading a comment by my fellow friend, I think he is confused to my side that Jesus Christ rules the world. And God shows himself that he is the Lord. That's why He manifests himself to us Christians in many ways.

Hebrews 1:14 shows that angels are ministering spirits sent to those that are heir of salvation. What a truth to behold that means I am backed up by heaven security. It shows that as many that have confessed the lordship of Jesus Christ are heirs of salvation and that means am full of Gods power and ability. Hebrews 1 also shows the authority of Jesus Christ in Heaven and here on earth.

I think, like any scripture, one must want to know the truth. Remember, this is the Last Will and Testimony" of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. You must first want to be an heir and then you will know the Truth and the Truth will set you free.
