Wesley's Notes for Hebrews 9:26

9:26 For then he must often have suffered from the foundation of the world - This supposes, That by suffering once he atoned for all the sins which had been committed from the foundation of the world. That he could not have atoned for them without suffering. At the consummation of the ages - The sacrifice of Christ divides the whole age or duration of the world into two parts, and extends its virtue backward and forward, from this middle point wherein they meet to abolish both the guilt and power of sin.

This passage tells us that Moses ENJOINED Israel to the law ( BOOK ). Israel was MARRIED to the law and it continued into the early church, Thats y Paul is saying you are dead to the law by the body of Christ that you should be MARRIED to another even to him that was raised from the DEAD. BUT THIS SPRITUAL LOVE TRIANGLE ANSWERS TO David,Bathsheba, Uriah. the kingdom coming by a 2 nd Child TH H.G.

"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: so Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation." In the beginning when Adam sinned God first had them confess what they had done and so by their testimony He condemned the devil and pronounced Christ to come to bruise his head.

Louis (cont.); In the world of the beginning, what was it that caused the whole world to be corrupted and filled with violence and utterly WORTHLESS; so that ALL that God could do was to destroy everyone and everything, and start over with Noah and his sons? It was the sons of God the ones who HAD the knowledge of God and hardened their hearts and turned away from His Spirit of the Law and Christ!
  • A disciple
Louis; Could you please explain in your own words, and your own understanding, how it is impossible to keep the Law and be a Christian at the same time? Interestingly, the Lord Himself said that the Law and the Prophets wouldn't pass even up to as far as if the heaven and earth passed away! And since when does someone who completes his schooling then have to condemn and forsake all he's learned?

I know a man who believes in and confessed to follow the whole bible, the law of Moses as well as the law of Christ. This is vast ignorance and is impossible. He is immovable in his unjustified beliefs.

I believe that when the Bible say's it is appointed unto man once to die, it is not referring to a physical death because Lazarus died twice, Enoch never died and neither did Elijah (as examples) I believe it is referencing a soul death. Ezekiel 18:20 states that the soul that sinneth, it shall die..thus the need for man to be "born again", that's my interpretation based on what God's tells me
