“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
King James Version (KJV)
6:19 Which hope in Christ we have as an anchor of the soul - Entering into heaven itself, and fixed there. Within the veil - Thus he slides back to the priesthood of Christ.
Heb 6:19 Which [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul. As an anchor holds the ship when the storms are raging, so this hope holds the soul steadfast. And which entereth into that within the veil. The veil was before the Holy of Holies in the tabernacle, but it was a type of heaven. Hence this means that the hope reaches to heaven. It is a heavenly hope.
