  • Stephen on Genesis 39:7 - 9 years ago
This parallels Jesus s temptations while on earth provided by Satan which he rejected. Eventually he was falsely accused of blasphemy , whereas joseph was falsely accused of adultery.
  • Stephen on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago
Josephs account closely relates to jesus. This is the point where jesus leaves his position in the heavens to serve god on earth.
  • Jeffrey Morales on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago
This story has always blessed me because Jesus has not shown up on the scene as Jesus the Savior as of yet. So the high moral character not being perfect still finds unmerited favor from an Almighty God who is impressed with His creation. When the Savior comes Grace was given in the name of Jesus and our imperfection is made perfect in Him. God had the power to shut the whole bunch up it says he was in the jail but allows Joseph to find grace that favor that God found too hard to refuse ones He found would by faith earn it.
  • Elder Neto on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago
I respect Joseph from the buttom of my heart for not giving in into his master 's wife secduction and refusing to commit adultery with her, which is an abomination in the eyes of The Almighty.
  • Levern johnson on Genesis 39:19 - 9 years ago

  • Bill on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago
TODAY I HEARD THE STORY FOR THE FIRST TIME. I LATER RESEARCHED IT AND FOUND THAT IF YOU REMAIN TRUE TO YOUR CONVICTIONS AND GOD NO MATTER WHAT LIFE CHAINS YOU DOWN WITH EVENTUALLY THE SHACKLES WILL RUST AWAY OR BE BROKEN. BY FAVOR
  • Joseph kirianki on Genesis 39 - 9 years ago

it teaches us that destiny is biger than circumstance,no mater what u go through in life u just need time.
  • James Nathaniel on Genesis 39:9 - 9 years ago
If our current generation can be ready to defend their salvation like Joseph. The sin of adultery could be abolished
  • Sharon on Genesis 39 - 10 years ago
amen i truly believe trust god and he will walk with u always and forever and supply your needs amen
  • Daniel on Genesis 39 - 10 years ago
It is written that he was a prosperous man when he was a slave. How great it is, the prosperous or blessing was back of Joseph because of the LORD was with Joseph. the same prosperous was running back of Joseph when he was in prison also. so let's no need to back of prosperous but we should back of JESUS CHRIST.
  • Jomari on Genesis 39 - 10 years ago
did joseph get along with the inmates and guard?
  • Debbie on Genesis 39 - 11 years ago
This has always been one of my favourite bible stories. It shows that no matter what happens, if you stay close to God, he will bring comfort and supply your needs, even through adversity and hardship.
  • Shepherd on Genesis 39 - 11 years ago
Joseph became a good example to each and every one of us that he fled from the devil and the Lord was with him always, the Lord in the mountains still the Lord in the valley. We must learn that in every situation good or evil we must call upon his name.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
We must remember the phrase in the bible" and it came to pass" no matter what trial or temptation we are going through, it will pass. Joseph ask a very important question when he was tempted" how can I do this wickedness and sin against God?" We must ask that question, because all sin is against God, and we must trust in the Lord with all our heart, and lean not unto our understanding. In all our ways we are to acknowledge him, and he will direct our path. Joseph does what the bible tells us to do, and that is to flee youthful lust. Even though Joseph is lied on, and sent to prison God was with Joseph. God prospered Joseph while he was in prison. Humble thyself under the mighty hand of God, and in due time he will exalt thee. Joseph went from the pit, to Potiphar's house, to the prison, and then to be prime minister of Egypt. Joseph remained faithful to God, and he was blessed, this is a great lesson to us to remain faithful to God too. There is an end to all suffering, and we must remember 1Cor. 10:13 when being tempted too. May the Lord bless you richly my beloved.
  • Emmanuel on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
Joseph refused to be subdued by the power of immorality rising against him through his master's wife.
  • Bruce on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
The story of Joseph, similar to the story of Job, different situations. Both men were wealthy with earthly things and they loved the Lord. They both lost the earthly things, but still loved and trusted the Lord. In the end, both were rewarded. Their stories prepare us to be steadfast in our faith and to put our trust in the Lord, not to turn our backs on Him. For it is merely an act of satan, to test our faith in our God, trying to win us over during our times of turmoil. We praise God when things go well. But will we do the same when times are hard? Even if we believe that we did not bring our situations upon ourselves, through our thoughts, our deeds and our words.
  • Jenelle on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
Joseph was thrown in the pit and sold into slavery by his brothers. He remained faithful to God and was blessed. Then he is second in command in the home of Potiphar, who is second only to the pharaoh, when potiphar's wife tries to get Joseph to commit adultery, he refuses and is thrown into prison. Still he is faithful to God. I've always wondered what happened to potiphar's wife when Joseph became second in command to the pharaoh and had authority over Potiphar. Joseph set such an example for the believer to follow in Jesus Christ.
  • John on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
I yhank should we shouldtrust in lord and not lean to our unstanding.
  • Lou on Genesis 39 - 12 years ago
This chapter show what can and will happen when we are in the wrong place. When God is with you and you know it, it comes a time that we must run aways as Joseph did.
  • RALPH M. WATERS on Genesis 39 - 13 years ago
We must learn to allow GOD to handle those situations we are unable to control. JOSEPH said nothing towards the lady of the house - He remained silent - went to jail - GOD directed his steps.
  • ED on Genesis 39:4 - 13 years ago
IN THE OLD TEAST. IT SAYS SEVERAL TIMES, THAT THE PEOPLE SUCH AS NOAH &JOSEPH AND MANY OTHERS,
FOUND GRACE IN HIS SIGHT. OK, BUT THE NEW TEAST. NEVER SAYS THAT, IT SAYS THEY AND US ARE GIVEN GRACE. GRACE IN HIS SIGHT IS THE QUESTION, WHY IN THE OLD BUT NEVER IN THE NEW????? THANKS
