Lift? I'm not sure why you think God is kidding. Do you believe that a snake with no arms and legs that crawls through the dust never breathes dust or gets dust in its mouth?
  • Lamech on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
Serpent eats dust all the days of its lift?Art thou kidding,God?
  • SkipVought - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
    Lamech,

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is ONE LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might."Deu 6:4-5

The Hebrew word for ONE (echd) is the same word in this verse...

"Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be ONE flesh." Gen 2:24

So when God said, "Behold, the man is become as one of us," He was referring the plurality of The Trinity: God The Father, God The Son and God The Holy Spirit.

In The Bible there are TWO "In the beginning..." verses.

"In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." Gen 1:1

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."Joh 1:1

The Word was in the beginning.

    The Word was WITH God.

    The Word WAS God.

This is a way of saying that The Word (The Son) was involved with the creation with God (The Father). If you continue to read John 1, you will see that "The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." This was Jesus!

The teaching about The Trinity is that God is ONE BEING comprised of three PERSONS: The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Each of the Persons are fully God, but distinct Persons.

    Hope this helps.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: When God made Adam, He made him a "body", a "soul", and a "spirit"

Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, (that's the body,) and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; (that's the spirit, ) and man became a living soul" (body, soul, and spirit.) According to Luke chapter three, Adam was the son of God."

A son of God is a creature that is sinless at the time of his creation. So in the Bible you have "Angels" called sons of God, Adam is called a son of God, the nation of Israel are called sons of God, Jesus Christ is called the only Begotten Son of God, and when YOU get born again, and made a new creature, you are then called a son of God.
  • Charles R Peek - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
Oh! surely, you can understand the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit can't you?
  • Lamech on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
"And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us." God must be not one, they are as many as grass everywhere in the Eden.

No. The earth is not flat. The Bible does not say the earth is flat, anywhere. I assure you 100%, Earth, is not flat.
  • Kathy Baldwin on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
does the Bible say that the earth is flat?? where if it does.

    Zaniya,

    God is not a man.

"God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."Joh 4:24

Perhaps you meant something else. Can you explain what you meant?

    My brother Robert,

Well at least thank you for replying to me. Although you gave no answer to the one question I asked about the verse. That the the Spirit of Truth shall not speak of himself but what he shall hear. That's ok though. Nobody knows everything.

The reply you gave to brother Adam doesn't answer anything, for me, really. I know of many names that are of God Almighty(Father) that are not of Jesus Christ and vice versa. As you stated there are some they both use.

John 20:17 is good: Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Jesus stating "go to my brethren". Is God our Father or Brother? I call God Father just as Jesus Christ did. Since receiving the Holy Spirit of adoption from Him.

Here's one passage in the old testament speaking of a Father and Son. Proverbs 30:4

And one about Gods Servant or Elect One. Isaiah 42:1

Just a couple names referring to the Father and not Jesus Christ: The Most High, Lord of Hosts, Ancient of Days, God of gods, The Vine Grower, Our Father which art in Heaven etc.

Some names referring to Jesus Christ not God the Father: The Son of God, The Anointed One(Christ or Messiah), High Priest, The Bread of Life, Mediator between God and men, The Vine, Lamb of God, Chief corner Stone etc.

And of coarse many names both the Father and Son share. As they are One in each other. Although I do not believe the Son is the Father and the Father is the Son as you do.

Either way I have no problem with how you portray our Lord. I respect you either way. That you are with Jesus Christ our Salvation. That is the important part. I hope you don't think less of me, or us who perceive differently, brother. May our Lord Bless you with peace and good health. Amen.

Brother Richard, please see my response to Brother Adam - as I have similar response to you.
  • Richard in Christ - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
    My brother Robert,

I am very confused on why you curse those who believe in God as triune or three in One. Yet you seem to believe that Jesus is "dual nature". As you state. All God and all Man. Which is the same thing. Dual is consisting of "two" parts. Again proven throughout the gospels that Jesus was not speaking to or praying to Himself. He was praying to His Father in Heaven who sent Him, was with Him, and in Him. As God is Spirit. They being One.

So it seems ok with you for two as you state "dual nature".

I will humbly ask you to please explain one verse my brother. Please help us understand your view.

John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

So the dual nature of Jesus which is God(Spirit) and flesh. The Word is what became flesh and we beheld His glory as of the only begotten of the Father. Plus the Holy Ghost equals three. Exactly as ( 1 John 5:7 states. All of One God.

May the Lord bring us together in peace. Amen.
  • Robert Malit - In Reply on Genesis 3 - 3 years ago
    To be born again, we go through the following: #1. Confess & repent on our sins, accept Jesus as our God and Savior;

#2. Water baptism - immersion equal to death to sins, rising from water - new birth; #3. God baptized us with the Holy Spirit - we become children of God; #4. Holy Spirit leads us to the perfection tests or sanctification - we go through trials, all sorts of problems - God uses these to test & grow our faith, purge us from our old sinful nature, prideful self-centered desires of the flesh, in order to mold us in the image and likeness of Jesus. This is the same perfection process our Lord Jesus (dual nature as God and man) as a man, not as God, so you and I can emulate.

This is an ongoing process that we go through to keep us holy until the second coming of our Lord Jesus.

Hiya Steven and Chris no pun intented what i was impling is that Chris was saying that water baptism H20 makes our conscience clean which is not so we are made Clean our Conscience BY the WATER of the WORD which is Baptism of the H.G. That living water, baptism of the H.G the well of water that springs up unto everlasting life not h20 baptism . Remember Jesus Knew that all of his disciples had been washed, water baptised but he warns them IF I WASH THEE NOT YOU WILL HAVE NO PART WITH ME Which is baptism of the H.G. the water of the LIVING word ,you are made CLEAN BY THE WORD I HAVE SPOKEN UNTO YOU which is H.G BAPTISM. NOT WATER BAPTISM AS THEY ALL HAD BEEN WATER BAPTISED PREVIOUSLY. But Jesus tells his own disciples that had been water baptised IF i wash thee not you will have NOPART with me which speaks volumes of a greater baptism of the blood th BAPTISM OF THE H.G. THE CROSS. that baptism OF Promise. That makes the blood of no effect to say that water baptism can cleanse our conscience its like saying the Blood of the Cross was insufficent . Thats y the Lord was so upset with PETER SAYING THEY WERE NOT CLEAN YET THEY STILL NEEDED WATER BAPTISM IN ACTS 10. And God showed peter in a trance that what i have made clean( God was baptising folks with the H.G. that resulted from the blood) The only cleanser, do not call common or unclean. K

Explain to me why you believe what you said because a Loving Almighty God would not give us a life to live which is meaningless and then we die. that verse is their to explain what God had to prepare adam and eve for in the middle of a catastrophic situation.

This life is not supposed to be pleasurable, pleasure is only here to teach us about our purpose, not to replace it. Man is supposed to work, and hate his work, all days of his life, until he finally freed by death.

were did the snake come from to make eve sin and why

also when god kicked them out of the the garden why did they think that they wanted another chance

For adam and eve when they left the garden and had children how many children did they have.

And why did adam and eve notice they were both naked until they ate the fruit of evil?

Jesus said I am That I am! He is alpha and omega. He has know beginning and no end. He is everlasting. You are asking an impossible question. God is a God of the living ,not the dead! There are no dead ends in heaven! God is the great I AM!

EARS THAT HEAR! Adam and Eve were in the presence of the LORD. in His presence ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! They did not know anything else. Our Father walked through the Garden of Eden. He spoke audibly with Adal and Eve and many many many others. It is a small thing in comparison for a serpent to speak...even a serpent having legs is too much for our brains. Our Father help thou thine unbelief

The serpent tricked them and they ate

The fruit that brought sin to their state.

Adam and Eve then left the park

And entered in a world of dark.

    Gen 3:16

Why is the punishment of Eve "he shall rule over you" so often explained as a command to men? E.g. in the Pulpit Commentary it is described as a confirmation of the dependendable position of the woman as when God gave Eve to Adam as a help-meet.

Now the punishment to Adam is not seen as a desirable thing in God's eye - He does not wish the earth to be barren and thorny, yet it happens as a result of sin. Yet the punishment of Eve is commonly commented as a commandment of God - even though God clearly speaks to Eve and not to Adam here. Can anyone explain?

    Thank you for your time:-)
