Genesis Chapter 27 Discussion Page 3

  • Wilson Ngoye on Genesis 27
Rebeca, did not have to worry about Jacob ruling over Esau. Already Esau had sold his first birth right to Jacob without the enfluence of Rebeca. So even without all this event that casued pains and sorrow to Esau and Isack and force Jacob away from home, and build much hatred between the two brothers the word of God could still have been fullfilled that Jacob would rule!
  • JB Tubah on Genesis 27
Jacob standing before Isaac answering as Esau prefigures the church before the Father. No person can stand before God in his own name and hope to gain God's favor. The believer stands before God the Father and answers in Jesus' Name because that is the only name in which God forgives sinful man. All man [and woman] must be clothed in Jesus' righteouness, washed in His blood to qualify for glory.
  • Timothy Wayne George on Genesis 27
We must remember that God said two nations were in the womb of Rebekah, and that the elder would serve the younger. It was the will of God for Jacob to receive the blessing. Adam's disobedience is what caused sin and death to be passed down to the human race. Thank God it was the obedience of the second Adam the Lord Jesus Christ that has redeemed us from the curse of sin and death. That is why Romans 8:28 tells us all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to his purpose.
  • Jenelle on Genesis 27
God did not need the help of Eve, Sarah, and Rebekah to accomplish His will. As a result of their lies, the human race is still suffering the consequences. We face situations today that God would have worked out without our help; but because of our doubts and lack of faith, we take control of situations and create problems for ourselves.
  • J Stroud on Genesis 27
I think I understand this better after reading the commentary. The lesson I got from this is that God does not need our help to accomplish His purpose. I believe God could have accomplished Jacob getting the proper blessing without Rebekah getting involved and over anxious. Just a thought. What do you think?
  • Tumelo on Genesis 27
This chapter shows that no matter what happens, God's will, will always come to pass. Jacob, even before he was born was destined to rule over Esau, from conception. However way we (mere human being) like to look at it and critisize how it happened, fact is it happened and God still blessed Jacob, abundantly.
Back then, a blessing was a blessing and a curse was a curse; Rebekah, had Isaac cursed Jacob, would have been cursed as she said; these were the Old Testament days, before the Mosaic Law, before Jesus fulfilled the law.

Again, who are we to say NO if God says yes, and who are we to say YES if God says no. God let it happen and Israel came from there, the chosen people of God.
  • Winnie Mbamalu on Genesis 27:19
On the day that this incident took place, nobody in jacob's household understood that what they were watching was a sign, nobody in that house knew that they were a privileged audience of prophecy being dramatized and demonstrated.

Jacob in that attire standing before his father was a picture and a representative of the end- time Church. The voice of Jacob and the hand of Esau was is satan's biggest desire for every true believer for it's all about DOBLE IDENTIY, having a form of Godliness but denying the power thereof.

Ever wondered why we pray, fast, confess the word and yet still struggle? Double Identity - that's why. Brethren, Christianity is not a designers' suit to be worn when occasion demands to be worn outside and when we get home we pull it off! Double Identity is about hypocrisy, God hates it. We are not the Scribes and Pharisees, we are a royal priesthood.... (this space is for commentaries, I have to stop) Thank you.
  • Jimmie L. Hancock on Genesis 27
Verse 46 begins a phrase with a Capital "I": "If Jacob, etc." All my later copies of the KJV begin this phrase with a small "i". How did this develop?
  • RALPH M. WATERS on Genesis 27
Eve / Sarah / Rebekah - All three showed how a lie can change the direction of enrire races. Now these lies had an effect on the course of our lives. Not saying to tell a lie is good. But no man or woman can stop what GOD has intended. For all things work out to what GOD will
